He is very right, I used to wear lots of makeup, especially lashes and eyeshadow and I got a lot of attention from men. They liked it, also the women but now I just don't like that kind of attention anymore. I also started wearing neutral colors. I just want to be left alone, I'm don't with ppl judging me by my looks, doesn't matter if good or bad judgement. It's their "illusion of an opinion" and quiet frankly I only want GOD to judge me and to tell me what to do.
It gets bad when you want to interview someone intelligent and want him to look bad rather than understand said interviewee. It shows how ignorant and biased they are; literally brings out their own stupidity.
He's absolutely right and once the ladies get over themselves, they'll eventually say yeah your right. Without make up they don't feel feminine or worth looking at.

Red lips look unnatural! Purple lips don’t look too good and burgundy lips. They look like you’ve been drinking drinking red wine all day!! Natural lips look the best!
Id argue that most men can tell unless the makeup is extremely light... and im talking just foundation and concealer. Rouge - no one blushes 24/7 Lipstick - lips are naturally pink, not bright red, purple, burgandy, blue, etc. Mascara - unless youre brunette your eyelashes wouldnt be pitch black. Or as long. Eyeshadow - nobodies eyelids are naturally colored anything besides their natural skin tone. Eyebrows - nobody is born with drawn on eyebrows, eyebrows are made of hair not chemicals. Contouring - nobodies facial features look that sharp without plastic surgery (which is even more noticeable) and nobody id born with weird brown lines on their cheeks unless its a birthmark or something lol. Makeup is obvious.
We can typically tell when I was younger like 16 I was at work talking with a female co worker of mine who always wore makeup everyday I had never seen her without makeup in 2 years of working together so basically I asked her are you sick?! She says no and I ask then why do you look so ill and pale in the face and she explained to me I'm not wearing any makeup 😅 and I never thought about it I thought that's just how she looked so long story short Men do notice changes in women's faces I may not have known it was makeup but if a man has ever seen your face normally and then the next day you show up with makeup he will notice the changes in your face unless you wear like super subtle makeup and you were everyday then he may honestly never notice
I worked for a big while in an office, women only and all of us had make up on everyday, one day more and one day less.. no men to attract, all of us happily married. Just to give us a bit more confidence about our appearance. Some of us don’t look very pretty after a bad night sleep, some try to cover marks or scars so people wouldn’t stare at.. it’s the same as for men and the tie, why they shine the shoes?! Why men walk in a certain way when they wear suit and when they wear blue jeans?! Even men use make up nowadays! Why do men wear cologne, isn’t enough only the shower?! Snobby Jordan on this one.
Most men hate ties. Most men don't shine their shoes. Most men just walk, we don't adjust because we wear something different, your perception does change though so we seem different. The only men who typically use make up are actors or people in some kind of role where looks are important, that or they are trying to hide an injury. Are you seriously asking why men wear cologne? You may as well be asking "why do men even shower?" Because we don't want to smell repulsive with our body oder, which, no, just using deoderant doesn't always fix that. Its fine wearing make up if there is reasoning behind it, but if you REALLY just want to wear it because it makes you "feel nice" then you never really felt nice about yourself and you need to reevaluate what you consider valuable.
@@cherrycoyote55 “the only men who..” false. During 2 years I had a boss straight, family man, kids and everything and they guy used foundation! Because he wanted to give a bit of color to his super white skin. At a certain point he started to use fake tan but forgot to wash properly the hands so you can see the marks in between his fingers. I know more men who like that as well, it’s a make up. Make up for feeling nice is the most common thing on the planet, could be just a bit of color on the lips or a bit of mascara on the eyelashes.. nothing wrong with that and no sexual connotation whatsoever. Same as with clothes: one day I feel for pants, other day for a long dress or another day for a short skirt. Whatever makes me feel comfortable and boosts my confidence about my body. “Feeling nice” in any form or way is an energy booster for anybody and it’s an enough reason, make up included.
People wear a tie because its uniform, people shine their shoes because its uniform makeup isny uniform. But if youd watch long format content youd see he specifically said women can wear makeup in the workplace. Sheep.
No it isn't. Historically speaking that is EXACTLY what it was for. Getting as much attention as possible from the opposite sex. Usually by nobel women trying to ensure they would be chosen as the wife of a king, that or by male actors who would play the "damsile in distress" role and needed make up to appear more feminine to increase the desire of the men in the audiance, and thus the stakes of the show.
@@cherrycoyote55 that might be the way that it started but people don't do it for that reason anymore. they do it for themselves, bc they like the way it looks 💀
I never wear make up in public but I enjoy to wear make up at home, I like how it looks on my face, no other person than myself sees me like that and that’s fine, I do it because I like it.
I wear it when I go out or have company. It’s really just to cover my dark circles so nobody says to me I look tired. Even when I slept for 9 hours lol. Concealer, mascara, maybe thin eyeliner or light eyeshadow if I have the time or patience. Makeup to me is art, it’s not about hiding. Doing my hair and makeup is fun when I’m with my mother and grandmothers. And especially when I want to really look my best for first impressions.
For the first time I completely disagree with him. I work in an all women environment. I wear make up to feel neat and put together it's got nothing to do with sexual attraction.
This comment made me realize something. I used to put on makeup as a teenager/tween before leaving my room just to go to a shop with my Dad... And I'm not trying to seduce my Dad so.. lmao
I like Jordan Peterson and I would love to do a little experimwnt: show him pivtures of women with natural makeup (the no makeup look) vs women with literally zero makeup and just a red lipstick or a blue eye shadow (something obvious) and ask "who is wearing makeup?" and see if he can tell the difference.
I wear makeup to work to look professional. I dont even wear red lipstick or blush. But there is a standard of professionalism and neatness that is quietly implied for people's appearance even up to the detail of makeup.
this is your personal opinion and views. if an unkept women did the job 10 times better then you. I'm sure the employer would want them over u. you have been conditioned to believe wearing makeup gives u power.
makeup is not required to look professional. most female teachers i had never wore makeup and they looked professional. and sure do what you want but dont be shocked or cry vicitm when you draw male attention
You sound D u M b Women say they don’t wear it for men but they all do, because if they didn’t they would be wise and live by the girl code and not do things to tempt taken men… Women wear make up for who? Other women??? For themselves??? So why do a huge chunk of the population post their pics all in a seductive way? Get real bro. Women don’t want to admit it and men don’t want to acknowledge that there is literally only male and female and we are stuck with each other and we need each other. Everything revolves around every person trying to attract something from someone else. For example the men that say they don’t trust women and trash them yet go to the strip club and give them money , he still needs them to satisfy him sexually, and even if he chose to buy some robot , that robot is still made in the image of a woman… same Shit for these idiot women
sure, but are women who wear makeup asking themselves why they do it? they're spending money on it all the time and yet don't seem to want to ask themselves why. if you put it to them directly they'll usually say something like "i wear it because it makes ME feel good". but why does covering your natural features make you feel good? what does that suggest about your value system and how you value your appearance? but most don't want to go there, because the answer is that they feel their face isn't good enough without it, and to admit that level of insecurity is painful.@@tomtenisse823
Doctor, I hate to correct you because I agree with practically every thing you say. However women are not trying to look as attractive as possible for romantic reasons, it’s strictly a competitive initiative! The makeup, hair, clothes, even body language is all about “OUT DOING” the other woman! Women are dressing up for each other!
Can't we as women wear makeup to look good for ourselves. Hide imperfection, give a healthy appearance when not feeling A+. It really isn't all about men grabbing! Please ...
Most women wear makeup because it helps them feel pretty and it looks more professional and polished...but it's a personal thing...not sexual...but some women don't even need makeup.
He's literally a psychologist with tons of research and explained that point thoroughly in the interview. I mean, "pretty" is just another word for"sexually attractive" idk what are you on to say it's not sexual. Go watch the full interview to understand the criteria he was talking about

Seriously? In a world where both men and women wear make up and do botox.... come on. JP knows what opinions would trigger the media and attract attention to him !
I agree with him in many things, not all, but this I'm really against. Women don't do everything for men or anything, for that matter, specially if they don't like men. Some, like myself, do so for ourselves. Because we like how we look or it's simply pleasing.
I saw this interview the gentleman was very respectful and I agree with him I am a woman and when I wear red lipstick there is ZERO sexual desire behind it this is one thing I truly disagree with Mr. Peterson but I highly respect you and love hearing you speak. Just not on the same page with this one. Love you keep the awesome work going the world needs more passionate speakers like you
Wearing makeup is not sexually provocative simply because it enhances your features. Not everything is sexually charged. I don’t wear it for the attention and reaction of others. If that were there case, I would wear makeup every single day but I don’t.
I only wear makeup to work because I get judged if I don’t. Especially when going to job interviews too, you’re seen as less professional and put together if you aren’t wearing any makeup. I wish it didn’t have to be this way, but many of us only wear it because society has made us feel like we’re ugly without it.
Spot on. I was in the military for 10 years. Didn’t wear makeup. Where in the field or desert do I have time for that crap. Suddenly thrust onto civilian life and have to wear it to be taken seriously. Cause people find you more attractive. So they take you more seriously and professionally.
Haha Jordan. First time I ever disagreed with you. You made a correlation without showing other associations. I'd have been with you if you had said it was one of the many reasons. 😉
Also it’s funny that he says this and seems to contest the idea of makeup and does this while wearing makeup lmao this clown wears makeup. Bahahahahaha

I hope you're being sarcastic🙄🙄🙄 if not, you could probably say the same thing about doing your hair or wearing nice clothing. That attract mates as well so should we take down away from the workplace
I turned up at work one day for the very first time wearing no makeup because I overslept. I could see people staring. At last one of the women came over and said I didn't look well and was I alright. I said it's just I don't have any makeup on today. She said Omg I'm really sorry. Some other women said I looked really different without makeup. Nobody liked me without makeup 😂 I must admit I look horrendous

Everyone would also ask me if I was tired or sleepy because I have raccoon eyes. But I found skin lightening has helped amend these issues.
uh i wear makeup at work cuz i have acne and want to cover it up cuz it's embarrassing and knowing it's covered makes me feel better. i'm straight and most of my coworkers are female, and i still wear makeup, so it's not just "trying to be sexually attractive"
You wear makeup working with other women because you feel in competition with them. Beauty competition to be sexually attrattive And you think if they saw your acne you would lose that competition. Peterson is right
Exactly! A lot of people who wear makeup even opt out of red anything. A lot of us wear makeup to make our eyebrows cleaner, to hide blemishes, to cover discoloration. In fact, lots of us go for a natural look which calls for natural lip colors like brown and mauve and minimal blush. Red lipstick and blush is outdated in the makeup world.
I disagree. I’m not doing it to feel sexually attractive. Sex is the LAST thing on my mind when applying makeup before work. (If it were, I would be trying to look extra sexy and like a true makeup artist) I use makeup because I have ruddy skin that embarrasses me. I HIDE my own perceived flaws. I’m OCD just enough to despise seeing my blonde eyelashes and invisibrows. I think it looks funny. I wear makeup to feel normal. However I try to keep it mellow and natural looking. There is a difference.
As a T.A. working at high schools. I was made aware of a signal system of young teens girls who use different shades of lipstick as a signal to older boys what range of sexual acts they would be willing to take part in for money. Also, many of the older males would visit the high schools from Universities.
The majority of women probably. I wear makeup to keep from looking like a cadaver. Never needed makeup before my late 40's. I don't use it to attract men or anyone. It's part of my grooming ritual; I like to be well put together for work.
Well he's just saying that the purpose of make up is to enhance attractiveness (which is based off sexual attraction drive it's the physical aspects being enhanced) The reason you may use it to increase your attractiveness vary but the underlying function of make up as it's used is increasing attractiveness
I’m 73 now and still wear a very minute amount of eye make up because if I don’t I look like I’m sick or dead. It’s not so I’ll look better to others, but so I don’t look ghastly ill when I look in the mirror. If I look sick I start to feel sick.
@@anthus458 he's saying that the use of make up (since it's meant to be used to make one more attractive) invites the attention of men I don't think he said anything about sexual harassment in this segment particularly but I would assume he said something about makeup being an invitation for men to try to approach (if they feel courageous enough) but in terms of harassment (depending on what you classify as harassment) that is usually committed by those who are mentally corrupted beyond the point of reason so it's not exactly something that would stop just because people didn't wear makeup but it's also not easy to tell if the added level of attractiveness may be that tiny drop that causes some to be pushed to study a level of corruption But I don't think he says anything about it
@@ghosttheprogram6973 ah okay, I watched the interview where he made that statement. But I didn't know what he was implying by "no makeup in the workplace." So thank you for the explanation!
the thing is GUYS DON'T KNOW ABT NATUTAL MAKEUP. it's literally called the "no makeup makeup look" for a reason. flawless skin, concealer, mascara and everyone thinks you're not wearing makeup.
The thing about makeup is that it's origins was to look more attractive to men and women. I find myself checking my make up before meeting a woman. Or sometimes alone to cheer me up. He's got half way true. In modern society there are other factors to consider.
Make up originated kn Egypt, it wad used by both men and women 5000 years ago.. It was probable to attract each other. Perhaps Jordan Peterson was not aware that men suddenly became using make up again after so many millenia. Are you a straight man that uses make up? What kind and what country?
Yes. I totally do my makeup if I’m having a bad day or if I’m feeling unmotivated to do things. I get like inherently if you dig a million layers - there’s a route that is connected to attraction of the opposite sex - but we’ve evolved and things have taken on new meanings. I could care less who is at the job, I do my hair & makeup as a grooming & self care routine and naturally carry myself more confidently & professionally. Because I feel put together. I feel clean. I feel proud, inside & out. It’s not inherently sexual. It’s expressive and a way to be creative or connect with your body. To know and see my skins curves and lines evolve, and play with them - is creative and respecting your body. I get it - he would beat me in an argument because if we’re discussing evolution - sure break down the facts. But idk I just feel like it’s a little more nuanced nowadays . What about the entertainment industry where they have onset makeup and hair crews? Or show up to events sponsored by designers. Should feeling groomed only be left to the rich & famous? I don’t understand
I’m the book of Enoch, it describes the watchers/fallen spiritual beings. It tells of them teaching mankind the art of divining roots and putting on things to beautify the face.
People, not just women, do all kinds of things to enhance their image. They work out, groom themselves, they wear clean and fashionable clothes, etc, etc. The problem is there are people like Peterson who think over explaining human phenomenon makes them look and sound intelligent. And when challenged for their spurious explications they take it personally. How does putting on make up differ, for example, from doing one’s hair?
Combing your hair, clipping nails, wearing clean clothes are the sign of tidiness and hygiene. Furthermore, cleanliness makes people look smart in the workplace and helps to maintain a level of dirt free environment. That is not make-up. Painting your face or lips red has nothing to do with hygiene and you don't look smart with it. The sole reason people do that is to look sexier.
You are bending over backwards, making a distinction without a difference. Everything you just enumerated falls within the ambit of our natural quest for beauty but it’s not just limited to women. Men and women do things to their image to enhance desirability and social acceptance. Whether you make up, make down, add something, remove or reduce dependence on your concept of beauty and what your perception of your image is. In the culture we live in, men don’t do a lot of visible make up but some civilizations do. Peterson’s contention that makeup for women is driven by a desire to be “sexy” and not by an innate quest for beauty, intrinsic with o ur human nature is superficial and does not cohere with contemporary behavioral studies. That’s why he gets in trouble sometimes. Some of you disciples of Peterson should take time to research some of his utterances, rather than agree sheepishly with everything he says.

its bull - they do not do it to enhance sexual enhancement its just about looking professional and wanting to feel more confident. its not fair to put women down by saying they are just looking for male attention by wearing make up. I can tell you, I wear make up at home alone. I wear it everywhere because I like the way it makes me feel.
I get what he's saying on a deep evolutionary level and i think he's right, I just don't think people view it as that generally. Like they aren't seeing it as that deep. Often times, I feel like I'll be looked down upon if I don't wear make up to job interviews and work, because it's sometimes seen as basic female grooming in this decade
Re: make up… it is something women use to look better. What I was amazed to learn was when my husband told me he preferred me without it. What a joy that moment was to me!
Look better for who exactly because if you say themselves you know you're lying. No sane woman wakes up with absolutely no plans to go out and says to herself "gee I want to spend an hour applying makeup and styling my hair just for myself". Stop the lying. It's okay if you do it for the opposite sex, in fact, it's a healthy thing to do but it isn't healthy to lie about why you're doing it!
I usually prefer women without makeup. Or rather only use it occasionally like to go out or for special occasions and dont need it to go outside or to the gas station or else they won't leave. They know its not necessary to look good but when they feel like it they do it tastefully. I also like when some wear it to fit their style which may require quite a bit of it. One thing about make-up i like is that it shows that she likes to take care of herself and is generally hygienic. At the end of the day though its generally used for attraction and therefore sexual at its core.
I agree when I started work I wore makeup to make me feel sexy and to feel attractive to men. Now I’m to old to care. Also, after being a survivor of Domestic Abuse I’m done with relationships. I’ve found freedom. I married young to escape an abuse at home from the woman who some say she a mother, only to marry a narcissistic man. I didn’t realise how suppressed I was until it was over. Now I have freedom I’m not going back. I prefer to sleep in peace. He was also abusive to my disabled son and I didn’t know until he told the psychiatrist.

Absolutely right. I worked at a prison (and a hospital) as an RN, I NEVER wore makeup to work. I work in a hardware store, now......makeup is definitely not on my face. But'm not trying to find a date, at my job.
For me, make up makes me feel good since it covers scars, and I don’t give a damn what anyone else thinks. It’s NOT to make me more sexual attractive. That is YOUR assumption.
And i hold eye contact when talking. Not for sexual attraction but they're pushing the argument that holding eye contact with a woman is sexual misconduct so if we start down that path where does it end is what he was saying if you actually watched the interview and care too know what's being discussed. If you didn't then that's YOUR ignorance
Then why cover scars if you don't care? Those seem to make you feel like you don't look good, why care if you look good? Just keep asking the questions (if you aren't scared of your own true reasoning) and you will get there and see what he means.
I watched a documentary about some African tribes and there was a ritual, (I’m trying to remember so this is not 100% accurate), let’s say for picking a partner and the narrator explains how the females would apply color to their cheeks and lips to mimic their female genitalia, they would also add extra clothing to make them look larger so as to portray larger hips for carrying babies! So there is a definite reason, buried deep in the psyche of women, that compels women to accent their attributes! Just like any other animal on the planet!
Years ago when I was working I used mascara, lipstick and a little color. I never ever thought I did this to attract sensual reaction. Seriously. Why shouldn’t people wear makeup to work we’re there for hours, I used makeup to look alert in the morning. I cannot believe I commented on this.
That is fucking bullshit, what about high heels, for example, do women wear them to look good who the fuck are you kidding, maybe your intention is good but what are you actually doing says otherwise, you are trying to appeal sexually attractive to men, not women, not children, high heels are made for that reason, so as makeup, you shouldn't get harassed because of makeup and heels but you are embracing harassment by wearing them, you can't just try your best to look sexually attractive even if you intention is innocent and be annoyed that men look at your thick but because you are wearing high heels that was his point and he didn't say women shouldn't wear makeup he just says it doesn't make any sense and it is unprofessional and maybe even counter-productive to have this sexual tension between employees in a workplace those are humans with urges after all and even while they should control their urges they will be uncomfortable, and they will not give their best, not wearing makeup in the workplace is not oppressive for women you are going to work and produce, you are not going to the night club
What people should be asking about is the ORIGINS of make up. It is exactly what Peterson describes it as. Though in the contemporary setting, it's more of a societal norm so people dont relate it to the original reasons for its existence.

I wear makeup because I’m insecure. Not to enhance my attractiveness because I believe I’m not attractive, I do not want people to judge or bully me (which has happened many times).
Paint on your face has always to make you more attractive or to scare your enemy. With rouge and lipstick we are sending signals that mimick arousal or "afterglow". It was developed during a time when people were dying of all sorts of diseases. Eyeliner makes eyes bigger more child like, the bigger the better, more approachable less aggressive. Eyeliner is also a form of protection orginally. Currently There is makeup branded as "Camo", to camouflage imperfections, imprection that reflect health, so it is more overt verese it just all in the subconscious level. Because youthful women are prized in society make up is an adaptation./ adaptive strategy. I also think of make up as the equivalent of a man's suit. People treat you differently when you wear either. You feel confident, powerful, polished, professional, put together. People react to it and you different when you do or don't..You become almost a different person wearing either The type of make up just like the type suit also expresses your personality. You can be conservative to unconventional.to everything in between. With the advent of T.V. and print media (Mad men ) it also started to project standards, also create a fear to make sure you buy the products. Now with social media make up has created BILLIONAIRES because we are ever more visual and self conscious. There are filters to act as make up to make you more attractive to hopefully get more likes and people interested in you.
I would say that not wearing makeup at all isn't that bad as he might make it out to be he have a point tho I also think people wear makeups to cover their insecurities and all inorder to look more appealing thats the sole reason and for that he is right and the way he presents it is just hard to swallow even for me a peterson fan...but i think i understand what he tries to get but all and all baning makeup isn't something that's necessary
I will add that in my experience women who wear makeup get way too offended about anyone who doesn’t or isnt about it. (I feel fake, like Im wearing a mask, even if its just eye shadow)
He’s stretching on this one. It is used to enhance the illusion of health. Same as grooming in general. Healthy looking skin, etc mimics good health. Anyway, men are wearing makeup more now for the same reason. Who cares? You can’t control yourself if someone looks too healthy?
You guys aren't listening. Regardless if you want to lie to yourself and say you do it for yourself ect... It's what happens in a guys brain, that Peterson is talking about. Make up and concealer is literally in the beauty aisle... Not automotive. Secondly, makeup companies market it in commentaries with some of the most beautiful women and models. Last but not least, looking healthy could be seen as a sign of fertility and less complications if you were to have a baby. Being better looking gets you access to more resources, favors, job promotions ect.... Peterson didn't say get rid of make-up anyway. It's how your perceived by others. You wouldn't wear makeup on a island by yourself nor do you stare at yourself in a mirror all day. It's for other people
@@LeeLee-kk1qu everything is marketed using beautiful women and models. Every. Single. Thing. The automotive isle? Have you ever seen a car magazine or commercial? I don’t wear it at any time, and I’m absolutely in the minority. I’ll tell you what I would and do wear only when I’m by myself. Leggings. You know the ones that men think we wear for attention? It makes you look like your blushing (which in turn makes it look like your flirting with a guy) and your face gets red while your being aroused. So in a guys brain, it's tricking him. Lipstick, When girls are aroused, thier lips turn red, so lipstick tricks a guys brain. Also, lipstick is mimicking the color and shape of a woman's "lady" part. Everything you do is for other people anyway. You won't shave your head because you want a hairstyle that fits in today's standard and in your culture. Not 1950's, 1850's ECT. a Clothing style is for how other people people perceive you. Kids don't wear what their parents wear while they are growing up and you don't wear clothes from other cultures. Girls wear push up bras, let me guess, that's for comfort? Bras not only make girls look bigger but they make girls look more fertile ,meaning more attractive. Leggings is a style. Just as all styles come...they will go. Girls dye their hair. A lot of the time it's blonde. Blonde not only sticks out but it's makes girls more attractive. Older woman dye their hair to cover up grey hair....in return makes them look younger and more fertile. You can not buy a single thing that wasn't marketed and sold a certain way to you.
@@V.Hansen. It's simple. Being better looking affords you more opportunities. Everything you do is to fit in your social class. Shave your head. Id argue that most men can tell unless the makeup is extremely light... and im talking just foundation and concealer.
Rouge - no one blushes 24/7
Lipstick - lips are naturally pink, not bright red, purple, burgandy, blue, etc.

I agree with JP on this...and I am a woman.
THE FLAVOUR?!?!?!
Gf : have you seen my foundation babe?
Me : in my smoothie hun
I was like 😳 😂 🥤
I am in love with this man, he is so clever
JP spot on as usual
It's so unpopular almost dangerous nowadays to be intelligent down to earth man
Spot on.
Also a completely colorful fruit means that it’s mature.
I served at a staff officer at a NATO HQ and Canadian officers were stereotypically direct. Very direct just like Dr P.
Years ago when I was working I used mascara, lipstick and a little color. I never ever thought I did this to attract sensual reaction. Seriously. Why shouldn’t people wear makeup to work we’re there for hours, I used makeup to look alert in the morning.
I cannot believe I commented on this.
Don’t bullshit us
That is fucking bullshit, what about high heels, for example, do women wear them to look good who the fuck are you kidding, maybe your intention is good but what are you actually doing says otherwise, you are trying to appeal sexually attractive to men, not women, not children, high heels are made for that reason, so as makeup, you shouldn't get harassed because of makeup and heels but you are embracing harassment by wearing them, you can't just try your best to look sexually attractive even if you intention is innocent and be annoyed that men look at your thick but because you are wearing high heels that was his point and he didn't say women shouldn't wear makeup he just says it doesn't make any sense and it is unprofessional and maybe even counter-productive to have this sexual tension between employees in a workplace those are humans with urges after all and even while they should control their urges they will be uncomfortable, and they will not give their best, not wearing makeup in the workplace is not oppressive for women you are going to work and produce, you are not going to the night club
I agree and wish JP would tell his lip filler injection -rosy hot red lipstick wearing daughter this as well lol
On point! 🤣
Women try to make themselves look like fruit...!? Oookaaaay
"So you're saying I'm a pear"
He is also saying they are also trying to taste like fruit..
Tempting and delicious like the apple in the garden of Eden?
Lol realy hope you’re trollin and aren’t realy that stupid
🤦🏽♂️ it is a metaphor
What people should be asking about is the ORIGINS of make up. It is exactly what Peterson describes it as. Though in the contemporary setting, it's more of a societal norm so people dont relate it to the original reasons for its existence.
Creepy dude. It’s much more nuanced than his man-cave answer. He’s got a lot of information in his head but little wisdom.
Say's the guy who just throws a random insult, and has nothing of actual value to add or counter his point.
@@cherrycoyote55 My wife never wears makeup. She already has golden brown Native American skin. Besides this man always talks about how women have equal rights with men but he fails to mention a great percentage of them have been physically, emotionally, and/or sexually abused. My wife and I spent the last 7 years (pre-covid) educating women in prison. And we know that 90% are emotionally, physically, and/or sexually abused. They would call out Peterson’s distorted view of women. Never does he speak to women abuse and how they are certainly treated by men. The Bible states: “And he shall rule over you [woman]. Genesis 3:16. This is a curse because of the sin problem. Man has, in earths history, ruled over women in horrific ways. But has never addressed the abuse they suffer.
@@cherrycoyote55 not a random insult it fits the man
THEY CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!!
Peterson is the best. I am so lucky to hear his voice.
I agree with Jordan
Sometimes the truth hurts!
Thank you for being there for me
it scares me how so many people are genuinely afraid of facts.
I would say that not wearing makeup at all isn't that bad as he might make it out to be he have a point tho
I also think people wear makeups to cover their insecurities and all inorder to look more appealing thats the sole reason and for that he is right and the way he presents it is just hard to swallow even for me a peterson fan...but i think i understand what he tries to get but all and all baning makeup isn't something that's necessary
HA...!
You got him Dr. Peterson..well done.
Yes. No makeup at work. Also no nail polish.
damn this dude is a legend
I will add that in my experience women who wear makeup get way too offended about anyone who doesn’t or isnt about it.
I dont wear make up and you wouldnt believe how much flack I’ve gotten simply because I dont wear it.
Add to that my response for why and the really get mad.
(I feel fake, like Im wearing a mask, even if its just eye shadow)
I.agree!
The most beautiful women and models.
Lastly, the only reason women wouldn’t wear it on an island by themselves is that they wouldn’t have it. I don’t wear it at any time, and I’m absolutely in the minority. I’ll tell you what I would and do wear only when I’m by myself. Leggings. You know the ones that men think we wear for attention? I would wear them at all times if men didn’t exist. Since they do exist, I wear "yoga pants” at home by myself because they are the most comfortable, low maintenance and practical clothing now in existence.
@@V.Hansen. Women aren't in every single commercial, selling every single thing that has ever sold. If you do see women in commercials, they will be wearing makeup. But beauty sells. Especially youth. Make-up makes you look more youthful. Again, makeup is found in the beauty aisle. Do you know what blush does?
Purchase the cheapest clothing you can and without looking at the style and coloring. You don't put on makeup and stare at yourself in the mirror until you go to bed. If you have a car, you no doubt at least in part bought it on how others perceive you. If you have a house, your going to spend a lot of money on cosmetics, mulching, planting flowers ect... Cultivating a image on how you want others to perceive you.
Let’s assume he is
He’s not perfect
He’s a scientist…he works with statistics and data to come to his conclusions
So let’s say he’s wrong instead of attacking him
provide another pov during ah interview with him
And knowing jp he’ll listen to you
💯 yeap!
many women say they don't like or refuse to compete and then put on makeup.
Sometimes women use makeup to cover skin issues so people are less distracted when they speak to them. Without makeup I get very concerned facial expressions and comments from total strangers. It’s not about sexual anything.
As a woman who wears makeup I had no idea about this .
