I just want to eat that tempura sauce as soup. I've been wanting clear onion soup (an American Japanese steak house favorite), a stable stocked item. A mixture could follow in how to make that clear onion soup similar. Interesting, and I'm definitely going to make this sauce for my next tempura attempt. Thanks @ No Recipe.

You're welcome! I don't think I've ever had the clear onion soup. Is it like a french onion soup made with chicken stock instead of beef stock?

Hmm, I think that it is made on bonito and kombu base and then boiled with slices of white onion that is then transparent brown coloration with onion flavors and it's often served with thinly sliced dehydrated or very thin sliced mushrooms and green onion rings at the bottom of as everything doesn't float up. @@NoRecipes

I sometimes want Japanese 7 spice chilli powder for my tentsuyu in addition to grated daikon and ginger. Matcha salt and curry salt work good for tempura🍤🧂too.
