I'm team both. I've been using Windows my whole life, starting at Windows 3.1. The ME through Vista era was dark times (and what prompted me to get my first MacBook), but since Windows 7, I think PCs have been very solid. Windows 10 and 11 have treated me quite well. Really, I prefer to just let each platform do what it's best at: Windows for my custom gaming PC, Mac for my laptop. I can build just the right gaming PC in exactly the enclosure I want, throw in a few huge HDDs for network file storage, and be good to go. It makes for a great entertainment system. Mac desktop computers just make zero sense for me. I prefer to work on a laptop, and my MacBook Pro just makes the process much easier than I've ever experienced with a Windows laptop. Getting developer tools setup is much less of a process, the built in display is great for photography work, CoreAudio in macOS is just rock-solid reliable and makes music production that extra bit easier, and I really prefer the macOS UI - it helps me to work much faster than I ever could in Windows.
I've been on both sides of the fence... And the long-term support for custom PCs has no equal. Once Apple drops support for their computers, you're abandoned, stranded, forced to buy a new computer. PCs, on the other hand can have a second life as a home server, NAS or even an HTPC. Beyond that, I'm on my way to become a full-time Linux user which is a new level of experience and has been a fascinating learning process.
Yeah! I use both a custom Gaming PC for gaming and Windows side of things and a Macbook Pro M1 Pro 14". This setup has worked for me for almost 2 months now.. Although I do use my old Intel Mac Mini with Plex installed :D.. Although that can't be said for the M1 Mac minis XD
Grew up with PCs all my life. My family had a Windows XP machine when I was born, and she still boots up and runs fine to this day. In the late 2000s, we upgraded our main machine to an HP MediaCenter laptop, again a fantastic machine that still runs today (It was built for Windows Vista, which runs smoothly on it). We got an Acer laptop that eventually bootlooped, and another Acer laptop that runs insanely slowly since the hard drive seems to be damaged. In 2019 I got a PC laptop and it was fine for my needs, but I decided to jump to a 2015 MacBook Pro in 2020 and I'm typing on it right now. I'd say both sides are solid, although Mac fits my needs better :)
@@AlFirous Has the MacBook been reliable during those years? Have you needed to fix anything? I just bought the new MacBook Pro and I wonder how long it'll last.
I switched from 16 core AMD system to MBP with M1 Max cpu. Very happy of this choice. Editing stop motion animations is butter smooth, even with 8k raw material source.
The answer is BOTH. I’ve used both for the past 20 years or so? No idea. Windows solely for Gaming, and Mac for my Work. You never miss out on anything like this 😉. Tho I can’s say the same for phones and pads. Have only used iPhones and iPads and never Android (except for the S7 Edge; that too only for a few months 😂).
I don’t even understand anything about pc stuff, I just like watching your videos because you’re an amazing creator Andres. Keep up the quality content!
been a windows and mac user for many years. Windows was my main os + pc for working while the mac was just for exporting projects in xcode lol. In the last year I decided to go full mac with a m1 max ultra and I have no regrets, except gaming. But I have a feeling it's going to change in the next 2 years. :)

mac is only great in terms of video work.. custom pc i feel is an all rounder.. at the same price point, you can do video stuff, design, 3d design, gaming pretty much everything.. mac has the ecosystem thing which can be considered.. however in terms of raw performance and real world work stuff, custom pc is more value..

About a year ago I purchased a MacBook Pro M1 2 TB SSD with 64 gig of ram. I just work from home I’m not a content creator and I don’t do videos other than small home videos. So I don’t do video editing. The reason I got so much RAM as I want to keep my computers for 10 years. My last MacBook Pro lasted me 10 years although the last year was very painful. And with not being able to upgrade ram I just decided to go for broke. Anyway I just discovered the gaming PCs and they look so cool. I really want one. The only issue is if I have no need for one I don’t game at all. The one thing I would like to do is do Microsoft 2020 flights in. As I’m a pilot. Why don’t they ever talk about plane flights in my max I would think with the new M1 chip and lots of RAM it would run well but again I don’t know. Maybe you need a dedicated graphics set up or graphics card. Thanks for the video.
Yeah, same here. I also have the same configuration of Macbook Pro and I got it as future-proof as I might wanna try 3D, video editing and music-producing stuff. I recently bought PS5 and a sim racing setup as I had been thinking about gaming for a few years. It turned out that when it comes to sim racing and gaming, PC is just AMAZING. I kinda regretted that I switched from windows because If I got just a custom PC, that would have been cheaper and enough for my gaming and other needs. Then I can just use a cheap windows laptop with a touchscreen for travel. Though, some of the comments in this video give me some justifications which makes me feel better tbh.

Hey Andres! Love your channel. You guys at ANKE create awesome & beautiful content. Just curious... Have you guys considered using fans from Noctua or BeQuiet for your custom-built PCs? I find the Corsair fans can be quite loud when a PC is under load. I have had experience with both Noctua and BeQuiet and I find both do a pretty good job of being quiet in comparison to Corsair fans. Noctua does also sell black versions of their fans (unlike their usual beige/brown colour scheme) while BeQuiet does offer an RGB version, which resembles the Antec ones you have on your personal rig.
For me it comes down to a combination of price/ performance and software. Both are good for productivity but only the pc can game. Plus at the same price point the pc demolishes the Mac in most ( but not all) tasks.
Tried to look at the description but coudln’t find; what’s that screen under the Windows machine? External monitor? Almost looks like a laptop too! Really considering getting a Mac (Mini) just as a compliment to my desktop to get into some iOS stuff; plus will help with ease of transfer between my iPad Pro and iPhone. Gotta have a Windows desktop for everything else though. Do you think having both is feasible from a use case perspective?
you know, there are small form factor PCs that can include the exact same hardware that you just build in yours, right? they are so small that can be the same size as Apple's one
Hey Andres, Please Help, Pc i9 13900k with rtx 4090 or Apple mac studio Ultra??? For professional After Effects. Will appreciate your Response. Thanks in advance :-)
You hit on something very important. Not everybody know or cares about computer components. Store bought Pre build PC's are not going to perform the same because they don't always put the best components.
Apple doesn't have an "Apple tax". it's the quality of the components. buying the same quality memory for a PC for instance will set you more than buying from Apple. Same for SDD ...
Honestly if I have to buy some new machine now I would spend 4k€ for PC instead of 2k€ MAC, because I've bought 5 months ago new Macbook Pro and I realize that I miss so much for Windows :(
Well, despite Mac Computers are so Powerful yet Efficient with Apple Silicon. But I think PC still good choice for some people. Like me, who used to be with "Flexibility"
In my opinion Macs are for school and work and pc is just for gaming. I’ve had a MacBook when I was at this one school and it was good and for pc I never had one cause I have a Xbox and switch already but if I were to chose between both it’ll be a mac cause it’s just right there and when ur looking for a good gaming laptop it’s hard to chose cause theirs so much cons in them so an Apple Mac is the good choice for school and whatever but if ur gonna game I’ll chose a pc oh and never buy a gaming laptop my friends own laptop got shitty over 3 years but my schools mac lasted more than three years and it was still running good on my last year there
I am on team PC. But honestly these are tools and we should have both and maybe add Linux to the mix too. More the merrier. The competition will make the industry so much better. So better not be tied to one camp. But I am at present a PC user, thinking to switch to LINUX. The closed nature of everything Apple does does not sit well with me.
Lmao when he said 'give a listen to how quiet this PC is', all I could hear was loud fan noises .............. that were coming from my XPS 13 Plus [lmfao thanks Intel].

Having both is definitely a privilege i can say is worth thousand percent
For me it comes down to a combination of price/ performance and software. Both are good for productivity but only the pc can game. Plus at the same price point the pc demolishes the Mac in most ( but not all) tasks.
Is that the same desk as the one in your Dream Desk vid? Thanks.
Yo Andres these skits are so damn hilarious lmao 🤣🤣🤣

Tried to look at the description but coudln’t find; what’s that screen under the Windows machine? External monitor? Almost looks like a laptop too!
Really considering getting a Mac (Mini) just as a compliment to my desktop to get into some iOS stuff; plus will help with ease of transfer between my iPad Pro and iPhone. Gotta have a Windows desktop for everything else though. Do you think having both is feasible from a use case perspective?
great video, favourite channel after snazzy labs and mkbhd. I liked the intro very much :D!

you know, there are small form factor PCs that can include the exact same hardware that you just build in yours, right?
they are so small that can be the same size as Apple's one

Hey Andres, Please Help, Pc i9 13900k with rtx 4090 or Apple mac studio Ultra??? For professional After Effects. Will appreciate your Response. Thanks in advance :-)
You hit on something very important. Not everybody know or cares about computer components. Store bought Pre build PC's are not going to perform the same because they don't always put the best components.

Can you do 1 for Microsoft Surface Laptop? Want to know your perception on it. I know you are a Mac person though. 😊
For Desktops: Windows PC all day.
For laptops: 80% in MacBooks favor unless you need Windows specific software or love Linux.
Apple doesn't have an "Apple tax". it's the quality of the components. buying the same quality memory for a PC for instance will set you more than buying from Apple. Same for SDD ...
im glad to see my video reccomendation from a few videos back was heard.
Honestly if I have to buy some new machine now I would spend 4k€ for PC instead of 2k€ MAC, because I've bought 5 months ago new Macbook Pro and I realize that I miss so much for Windows :(

Lmao when he said 'give a listen to how quiet this PC is', all I could hear was loud fan noises
.............. that were coming from my XPS 13 Plus [lmfao thanks Intel].
was a pc user, but after using MacBook, I am not going back. even if I needed to choose a desktop, Mac is just better. (given I am not a gamer)

Literally nobody unplugs a mac studio and takes it with them, that’s not even an argument.
1 point is power consuption
Revit still not supported on Mac :(
Pc because it is easily customizable and I could add any graphics card to it but for Mac I can't customized it so I prefer PC.
