Since we are in a drought and I want to reduce my watering, what do you recommend for keeping our grass, plants, and trees healthy until we can water more?
Jim, A few ideas: Our system or any system of beneficial soil life enhancement is an excellent way to address water conservation - build your soil with complex micro-biology. Top Dressing Mulch is important for soil protection and water conservation. Inexpensive topical applications of polymer like products such as Soil Moist Water Aide (available online at Arbico Organics) are interesting, inexpensive and seem to provide real water conserving benefits. Scrutinize your irrigation system to maximize its efficiency by eliminating leaks and continually working towards even, slow application of water.
The organic insecticide for Japanese beetle larvae made from bacteria and called Bt is excellent. It's available online at Arbico Organics. Also, our regimen for our soil based gardening will eventually eradicate Japanese beetles because it results in abundant complex soil life, including beneficial nematodes which eat beetle larvae. You can also purchase live beneficial nematodes from Arbico online.
Applying Blend now is great and effective. Because of all our products non-burning nature, even the hottest day is fine for application of our products.
We don't know precisely. Bt can be sprayed in the soil everywhere beetle larvae are suspected to exist. Also, beneficial nematodes can be spread as a natural predator without specific knowledge of location.

Is it bad to put blend down now in Fresno? I’ve applied it in Feb and nourish biosol in March.
