Because of the ramp down, I tend told the technician to change the “finishing mode” to 30 seconds to essentially push the thermal energy in that condenser into the house rather than it being wasted when the indoor fan just shuts off.
What do you think about Bosch Inverter Ducted Packaged Heat Pump, 19 SEER Series (5 Ton Capacity), R410A Are heat pumps noisy or quieter than my current old 3 ton gas electric Anama. I am in the Sacramento area
Depends which heat pump, the Bosch packaged unit is very quiet, in heating mode during the defrost cycle on the coldest nights of the year it may be noisier but that’s only if it goes into defrost and for what it’s worth our customers haven’t complained about this at all and therefore I don’t think it’s a big issue… in my opinion when it’s running as an inverter, it will be quieter and more comfortable than a gas unit and is therefore worth it all day for the minor inconvenience if it’s slightly louder during 5% or 10% of its run time. But I don’t think it’s louder just because of the lack of negative feedback I received and trust me, Our customers will let us know when somethings not working lol and we love them for it because we want to make sure they’re happy and things are working right 😁
We sold 2 of these a few years ago both had indoor coils that leaked. So we stopped using them one of them was low again at the beginning of the year this year. What we are trying to get our hands on is the Gree xpac much better heating performance considered cold climate for the northern tax credits. Might just want to check them out. Gree comfort you tube channel if you want to check it out.
@@TheHVACDopeShow I'm not sure but we had the leaks in the Bosch units & we were not the only ones its the whole reason we stopped selling them. I found the gree package unit just this morning after checking energy star website to check on package units after watching your video. I found the gree on there & we have been having good luck with the airtemp ultra side discharge(gree flexx) split system units. We are Daikin dealers as well & love the Daikin fit love the comfort they provide but sometimes the customer just doesnt want to spend that much so the airtemp(gree flexx) has been a good alternative to get them into a low cost inverter to help your customer save money.
Is Daikin coming out with a Fit package unit? How reliable are these inverter package heat pumps, and are parts readily available? Is it worth waiting for the R32 package heat pumps? We need to replace our package heat pump on our AZ flat roof, so we appreciate the information.
I’ve heard Daikin is coming out with an inverter. If you want to wait for R32 it wouldn’t hurt but it’s more of a consideration getting an inverter vs. not. So if you end up having to get the Bosch or a different inverter system with 410a I wouldn’t fret. R32 will be out at the end of the year but I don’t have word yet on what systems will be coming out and how they’ll vary that much other than R32 systems being similar but taking a lower charge.
Do you think R410 will be readily available for the next 10 years or if there will be a replacement refrigerant that can be used in oler R410 units? Is R32 safe? We’d like to get an inverter package unit because when temperatures get down to freezing or a little below freezing, it’ll still heat the house is our heat pump really did a good job heating in the house once it got close to freezing were . Thank you for the reply!
@@nigelgarrett6247 I read somewhere that Midea made some of the Bosch package heat pumps. A neighbor installed a Midea package heat pump on his roof recently but hasn’t commented on how well is functioning. He did say it was the least expensive one he found.
Living in the Phoenix area and serviced by APS, would I still need to do super cooling with these units, or are they efficient enough to run during peak hours
I would try it both ways I don’t know if supercooling saves money unless you have peak usage billing in which case it might if you turn off your hvac during peak usage. It’s an 18 seer system so if you’re current system is 12 seer or 13 seer then you’ll see about a 30% reduction in energy consumption.
@@TheHVACDopeShow Thank you for your reply. Researching I found others in YT videos install surge suppressors at the disconnect. Is that something that comes with the unit or is that something you'd recommend at the time of doing your estimate. Thanks for all your time! I believe I have heard of them, this is the same as the Mr cool packaged unit correct? I have not heard of the indoor coils leaking on them

don't get one they are trash
As a tech I'm not a fan of these systems at all.
Nothing but headaches all around when it comes to diagnostics.
