I had no idea she passed away. Just watched this movie last night, and it’s one of my favorites to revisit. Life is a trip. I feel so fortunate, but also deeply emotional now. Rest in peace, Ashleigh. Thankful for this film, for your hard work, and what has been left behind for all of us. Rest in peace, Bobbie.
One of the greatest losses from the industry. What a brilliant, bright, charming, charismatic, lovely girl and beautiful on so many levels. Wise way beyond her years. I’m happy her legacy forever lives on with clips like this highlighting all her hard work and successes.
I met her in 2005 through mutual friends. She was a magnetic and happy person who had her share of demons, as we all do. I'll never forget going back to a friend's house to drink wine and sit by the fire in which she told us that she watched Now and Then in order to get a dose of her childhood that she felt disconnected from her too soon. I hope she is at peace.
I’m very curious to know what her take on her time as a childhood actor and the entire industry was? Why did she walk away from it? She was such a talent
Sorry for this late response. A friend of mine had asked her a question along these lines and she said her career after Now and Then kind of went stale. She said that auditions were also hard to get to given that she had to fly out constantly and with the lack of funds there was a difficulty in sustaining her career. Rest assured, she actually wanted to get back into acting but her share of personal struggles also complicated those attempts. She was a kind soul. And even though I knew her briefly, I always think back on that night when we were introduced to each other.

I hung out with her once, didn't realize it was her at the time. We went with a friend clubbing actually, this was around I think 2000, and she was pretty cool to talk to. Though we didn't talk about her work, she was quite level headed and pleasant. She lived with her mother in a townhouse complex in Richmond BC at the time. Sad that such a promising career ended so soon.
I knew her pretty well. She was good friends with my younger sister who’s 5 years younger than me. This is when she still lived in Sunnyvale before she quit acting at about 16 and moved up to Canada
She hadn’t worked in the industry in 10 years by the time she passed. She also saw at least some work going to the young people she’d previously worked with and not much of anything going to her. I get it. I’m sure this was hard for her. It definitely seems like she was hoping to make a life for herself as an actor. Once she realized it wasn’t going to happen the way she’d hope, hope may have been lost. I’ve never wanted to act, but still, I can relate on some level. After hope goes but you’re still alive, you have to find ways to numb the complete emptiness you’re forced to wake up to every morning. Hopelessness is worse than pain. I’ve lived both. I’ll take pain any day.

Could not believe it when she said 14. So sad as just finished watching a childhood show called the Odyssey. I find it strange that all these young actors seem to always ascend because of a "drug overdoses" makes you wonder if it's just the go to excuse for hollyweird cover ups....

Had the biggest crush on her when I saw the movie at 5 years old.
Such a shame how young she was when she died
Shame she was another one that succumbed to the drug world instead of choosing otherwise....
