Happy new year buddy I've been hanging for a new video :) It's gonna be a big year! My new year goal is to list 5 items per day and turn my hobby into a part time business with consistent sales.
I can guarantee you 1 thing mate. If you can list 5 decent items every day for 365 days you’ll do $40-$50k in sales! Keep that head down! Big thing coming. Thanks for watching
@@TheAussieFlipper bit of an odd question but I sell a lot of video games and DVDs and I am finding it very time consuming to hand write out address details. Is it OK if we print these out and attach to the tracked letter?
Great information, thank you. Can I ask, what kind of DVDs are you selling? I had over 300 movies/tv shows a few years ago and I literally couldn't give them away. I didn't think people wanted DVDs anymore - they are technologically out of date but not old enough yet to be nostalgic 😂
So I sold perfume I found in op shop to Israel to find out aus Post does not send perfume by air internationally as it's flameable I had to refund postage is complicated can U do a vid that shows screenshots of how to fill out I had to refund perfume first sale it was to Israel
im yet to have to handle an international refund but yep perfume is something I avoid selling even in AUS domestically. Just put that one down as a lesson learned!
Can I ask I have like three items that I’ve sold but the buyers haven’t actually purchased it yet so I can’t see the shipping label does that happen to you
Hi Matt. Happy to see your face again and with some great tips as I venture into the world this year of full time reselling from years and years of doing it part time while I raised the kids (they are teenagers now so hopefully can fend for themselves more!!). Question...Do you have any recommendations for where to buy the box lights you have. I paid $90 for a ring light on Amazon, its big but still not generating enough light for where I photograph. Thanks in advance. "SwaggyMaggie" Disregard.......just remembered its in the comments section THANKYOU!
Thanks for the advice. I got the box lights for Christmas and I’m so excited about it! Not over-sourcing is such good advice. Almost a month ago I told myself I could no longer source until I’ve listed my death pile. It’s been a little difficult passing by my favorite thrifts and not going in, but it’s also been really rewarding. I feel good because I’m being responsible with my money. Can’t wait to finish the death pile so I can actually source again. 😂 You had an amazing 2021, looking so forward to seeing what you get up to in ‘22. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼
Those box lights will come in really handy Promise! Pleased to hear you've controlled yourself from going into the thrift!! You'll have a bunch of money once you've listed that deathpile to really have a crack in the thrift but i think you should stick to buying as many items as you want to list in that week. Thanks so much for watching as always!
Hi Matt! Welcome back! Thank you for the tips. For listing, if 10 per day is done but on some days 20 or 30 listings (because of more time in the day) does that effect the traffic of the store? Is it best to just keep to the same number of listings if you have a new store?
Personally I would list 10 live that day and schedule your next 2 days worth of 10 if you have the opportunity to do 30 in one day as opposed to listing 30 then having 2 days off listing. Just my opinion but I dropped down to 5 listings over Xmas (all pre-scheduled) and my sales halved accordingly so it’s a really reliable method I feel. Thanks for watching as always! Happy new year
Hey Matt Absolutely love your videos and I just say a big thank you, your videos have definitely helped to expand what I’m sourcing and grow my eBay store. One quick question, what envelope do you use to ship DVDs and games. I tried buying some at my local post office but they only seemed to have envelopes that were only a couple of millimeters in thickness. Cheers
Hey John, really appreciate the kind message mate thanks so much for watching! I’ve got some detail in my latest DVD video. They are the medium tracked envelopes from Aus post I buy in bulk and like to send with tracking. You can put some bubble wrap in the DVD case but I haven’t had a problem just putting them in the envelope! Best of luck and happy selling
Hi matt , ive been reselling on ebay as a money making hobby for a while now , do you think having an actual store has made a big difference to your sales as compared to just listing as an ebay user , as i would like to get more involved this year .
Yeah I think the natural progression once you’re listing multiple items each week is to get a store subscription. I think the entitlements have changed since I last used eBay without a store but I still think it’s definitely worth doing! All the best for the year ahead 😀😀
I manually do it depending on the item that someone is watching. If it’s an older item I’ll offer more of a discount. I also send bulk offers out in the morning for multiple items. I know you can set up an auto decline on any low ball offer amounts but I think it’s a good thing to do manually
Hey mate. Loved it. I have created a game hunter channel I'd appreciate if these legends could check me out if they love a good game thrift hunt, down under!
Happy New Year Matt. Missed my video fix over the break. Good to see you are looking well. I have listed 71 items so far & have to say lighting & crap photos are my biggest hassle. I need to get proper lights asap especially as the bulk I have left to post is woman's clothing. Two sales so far but nice ones! It's hard being patient & keeping up the processes especially when I second guess myself all the time so draughting is slow. At least it's happening. Plenty of wise tips here. Thanks 👍
Defs check out the lights in the description! They have been a life saver for me! Good photos = good listings = good sales! I'm back with consistent content again and looking forward to the year ahead! Well done on your 71 listings! Keep working hard!
Hi Matt,Some great advice ,I have that problem of over buying big death pile lol ,but busy life with full time job ,ebay and now doing a bit of airtasker .I wish you all the success in 2022.
I think the buy to your listing goal strategy might be a good one for you Mossy! After you get through your deathpile! Sourcing ban to start 2022 might be the plan!
Google Lens literally changed my reselling career! I sell primarily antiques/ collectibles, and was constantly unsure of certain items. It's amazing how well it works too!!!
They generally come as a pair and I think 2 is definitely needed for balance of light / no shadows. The best thing I’ve bought for my business without a doubt
Hi Matt, I've been watching a few of your videos which are great and very informative and I'm a new sub :) My biggest issue is how to best work out what postage setting to put when listing an item for sale. IE how to work out how much to charge for postage when listing an item and what I actually pack the item in after the item is sold.. for example, small electronic items like USB modems I have 3 of and lots of VHS tapes. Thanks in advance. Tim.
Hey Tim, awesome to connect, thanks for dropping a comment! I personally always use Free Postage as its a perceived buyer benefit however I always cater for the cost of the item in the buy it now price so I dont have to pay for the postage myself. eg. a t-shirt I want to sell for $20 I will list for $27.50 buy it now "free postage". Over time you'll get accustomed to how much things cost to post. Larger items like VCR's I still offer free postage and usually cater for a higher postage cost like $20. I wont do heavy items internationally due to the cost of heavy items. My advice would be to work out postage rates for certain items and keep it handy next time you source / list the same item again! knowledge and experience is power! Best of luck and thanks for jumping on board the channel. Means the world to me!
As always above and beyond with the content Matt hopefully your generating enough revenue through your videos now as well as in the future. This year for us is setting up to sell more of the goods we source frond our fulltime day work so there will hopefully be more furniture flips on Facebook and lots of interesting things on eBay. 30% club
