  • The same day this video appears, the crowfunding campaign for Colonies Asunder: The American Revolution starts at MyMiniFactory, with Henry Turner's figures that will represent the different armies of the American War of Independence, British, Continental and various irregulars. You can find more information here: www.myminifactory.com/frontie...
You have previously seen on this channel some videos about Henry Turner's 1:700 ship sculptures. I have to say that he is a designer I admire but I had never tried his human figures because they are not about periods I am playing with and they are smaller scale than I normally use, as they are figures intended for 8-10 mm but my friends and I prefer the 15 mm scale, so printing and painting a complete army would have been just to show off in the showcase.
However, I had been following his work, so when he offered to provide me with some STLs before his release to try them out I had no choice but to accept them, print them and paint them right away. It has been a good excuse to test the resin printer I recently bought, and also to get back to uploading videos after several months without doing so.
I have no knowledge about the Continental Army, and I'm a complete novice with 3D printers, so nobody take this video as a tutorial, please!
My conclusion is that the sculpts are very well thought out, there are no details too small and therefore fragile, but at the same time they have a lot of detail. At first glance they look cartoonish, when you paint them you realize that those exaggerated features help a lot to paint them with ease, and once painted the figures take a much more realistic look, and what's better, you can distinguish their distinctive features at a good distance on the mat!

Just yesterday I wondered what you might be up to. I hadn't seen any videos cross my screen for a while. I reckon winter had set in as it did here in Colorado USA. I'm considering a purchase of a resin printer once it warms up and 10mm might be my target. We're a fan of decent sized battles but are restricted due to table space. Yet I'm concerned 10mm may take the same sized battlefield as my 15mm and 18mm units.

Well, everything has happened these months; To start I had to change the PC, vision problems already solved, work schedules... and sometimes I don't feel like editing much, but I have continued playing and painting, I have it all recorded!
Regarding the space to play with figures, it depends on the rules and the period, of course. And the scenario you play. There is a series of 3 videos on Little Wars TV featuring games from the Middle Ages with 6mm figures that barely take up a tea table ua-cam.com/video/bfObygs4_b4/v-deo.html. I suppose we could also find Operation Overlord games occupying four rooms on the same scale! Thanks for your comment
