Vlog about miniatures wargames, specially naval. I want to share with you my hobby and learn from your comments.
It helps me a lot to think about the processes I follow when preparing a video to make it understandable, and it's great to meet people and share projects!

15 mm Light Cavalry Javelin - Reconquer Designs Basque Light Cavalry in resin
This time I show you the Reconquer Designs 15 mm figures of Basque Light Cavalry. A very long video, but I wanted to record well the whole process, which is not complicated, but to include horses in addition to the riders, and not be uniformed, it needs more shots.
I bought the STLs of these figures in their 28 mm version, and rescaled them to 15 mm. There is a 15 mm version, but I preferred to buy the larger ones.
At 13:47 the narration refers to a metallic brush; this is a mistake, it refers to a dry brush of a metallic black color
To go directly to the interesting part:
Presentation of the figures: 00:00
Painting of the horsemen: 02:41
Painting of the javelins and shields: 11:55
Painting of the horses: 13:40
Final result: 22:14
As you can see, these figures are extraordinarily detailed and anatomically correct. In the video I mention that it's a pity to make them in 15 mm, and that's because it's more difficult to appreciate all the details, but they look great!
As in the past, I used the Vidnoz AI for the narration. But this time I also wanted to try the video AI Hailuo, with which I made a little montage at the end of the video. I hope it will surprise you.

11th Century Crossbowmen in 15 mm (rescaled) - Reconquer Designs Spanish Crossbowmen
Переглядів 73928 днів тому
In the absence of the commands, although I already have them painted, my list of the Kingdom of Sicily for the Art de la Guerre is already finished. However, this list also allows a somewhat later variant with Almogavars by making a few changes, and in this video I paint some crossbowmen for it. The Almogavars were Catalan-Aragonese troops that coming from the Iberian Peninsula, after conquerin...
More Styriwar Miniatures Knights in 15 mm, with sword - Miniature Wargaming

More figures from Styriwar Miniatures for my medieval army of the Kingdom of Sicily to play L'Art de la Guerre. This time it's the turn of the sword knights, which I will use as main core units. When I started to document myself I found a book of Sicilian heraldry that in addition to very interesting explanations includes hundreds of badges of noble Sicilian families. Some units for my army of L'Art de la Guerre Sicilian Feudal. These will be the Saracen mercenaries. Although in theory they belong to a much earlier period (622-750) I think they can be useful. They are sculpts from Red Copper Miniatures, which has a very marked style, so the Stirywar figures that I am also using in the same army will look very different... we will see how it looks. Dismounted 15 mm dragoons for an 18th century Spanish army - wargame with miniatures
Переглядів 6413 місяці тому
Almost finishing my 15 mm army to play with the Maurice rules, a unit of dismounted Dragoons as a complement to my Dragoons unit, an extra that is not necessary in these rules but can be interesting for others. Also, I have based them so that they can be used as detachments. I have not found Spanish Dragoons from the War of Spanish Succession period, so I have ended up using figures from variou...

Continuing with the same army of the last video, a medieval Sicilian, I need some spearmen to complete some units that are half crossbowmen/half spearmen. I'll use Styriwar's figures from his Kickstarter “Divide et Impera”, just like I did with the crossbowmen: www.kickstarter.com/projects/styriwar/divide-et-impera-12th-century-wargaming-stl-files Again, I had to rescale the figures, as they ar...
Styriwar Crossbowmen: miniatures rescaled to 15 mm for a medieval sicilian army

In this video I start a new project: a Sicilian feudal army for which I will use figures from Styriwar and Red Copper Miniatures, plus another surprise that I received from my gaming partner Lluís Vilalta who gave me some Almogàvers figures that he himself had painted. Wow! I want the army to play L'Art de la Guerre with 15 mm figures... But Styriwar's STLs are 28 mm so I've rescaled them to be...

My 15 mm Aztec army for l'Art de la Guerre

Although I have been uploading videos of almost all the units I have painted, in this video I make a summary showing the 15 mm Aztec army I have made to play l'Art de la Guerre with 3D printed resin figures from Red Copper Miniatures. The name Aztec is not quite correct; it would be more appropriate to call them Mexicas but I'm afraid it would be confusing. Just 2 years ago, in June 2022, I got...

Thak you!
Amazing job and nice to see such step by step workshop on yt. All the best in 2025 for you - keep your channel running please :)
Thank you very much, a particularly touching comment, thank you. Due to work needs I'll be a few weeks without videos, but I'm looking forward to a great 2025! Happy New Year to you too!
Good job!
Thak you!
Looks beautiful
Thank you!
You have made a lovely job of some very nicely sculpted figures. Interesting that you paint them up side down for the boots etc and then rmount them correct way up to paint the rest of the figure.
I already had them in that position, which was not uncomfortable to paint and allowed me to access the soles of the boots, the spurs, etc. Thank you very much for your comment, they are certainly beautiful figures!
WOW!! Beautiful figures which you do full justice to. Beautifully painted❤
Thank you for your comment, very kind!
Excellent paint job on the beautiful and dynamic figures!
Thank you, very kind!
Your painting is wonderful, but I'd like to comment on your stands for wargaming. Any combination of figures would do just fine for displaying and moving your figures on the gaming table, but you've gone to some lengths to make each base its own little diorama. It, like the paint work, displays the art form that is wargaming. Excellent!
Thank you very much, it is true that I pay a lot of attention to how to mount them on the bases, which figures will go on each one and how they will combine with the rest, and how to protect the most fragile areas. It is the first thing I do and that is why many times the handle of each figure is numbered. Thank you very much, what a kind comment!
No txapelas? 😉
🤯🤣🤣🤣
You know. You wrote me about my ability to produce. Yes I can but your painting and style is so very nice. Omg. I just love how you paint. I learn a lot from you. Especially horses. I always did not enjoy that but you’ve made it easier for me.
Wow, you don't know how proud I am of your comment. Happy new year and best of luck and fun in 2025!
¡Excelente trabajo!
Are the OG ACW Figures have less flash than the napoleonic as my castings seem very poor for definition and. Flash?
Sorry, I don't quite understand your comment, but the figures I bought from Legio Heroica as you can see had very good definition and hardly any flash. I don't know other eras of this manufacturer, and unfortunately his store remains closed after his death, I don't know if they will reopen... Thank you very much for your comment.
The only problem was the Santissima Trinidad was painted red, otherwise great tutorial which I will copy
I have chosen the color pattern that it had in 1797, so it should look in the battle of Cape St. Vincent in this guise, in other times it wore other schemes and colors. I don't pretend that my videos are tutorials, but if this one has inspired you with an idea, I'm proud. Thank you very much for your comment!
good job ,looks amazing 👌👍
Thank you!
You paint better at a 15mm scale than I do at 32mm :'( fantastic stuff mate
That depends on the observer. Thank you very much for your comment, very kind!
Looks awesome! Curious what brushes you used
Thanks! My main brushes are the Artix PP250, and also the PP249 which are the same but with very long hair. They are synthetic and not very durable, but you can find them for 3 € for a blister of 3, from 0 to 3/0, so the price makes up for the durability. Also, the long hair makes it easier to keep paint out of the ferrule. I use them for almost everything, but if I need even more detail I use The Army Painter Hobby: Super-Detail and I even have some Wargamer: The Psycho that I hardly use but I like the name.
Incredible work as always 👍👍
Thank you!
I think I’m going to get some of these. Amazing work as always. Thank you.
Thank you!
Reconquer creates very nice figs. I bought some 28mm prints a while ago. They reduced so nicely. I love the detail on the crossbows. And your painting of them just is exquisite. I'm waiting until after the holidays to take the printer plunge, but after seeing your crossbow unit, I may just do it today.
Yes, very nice and they fit well with the style of the Styriwar figures I made other units of my army with. Let's see how they turn out painted for you, show them us!
These are marvelous minis even before you touch them with a paint brush. Your wonderful painting skills just make them better. I really like the castings you've decided on, and only in this modern age can you produce these excellent models in 15mm. As always well done!!
It is true, even unpainted figures are spectacular. I'm getting used to the virtues of 3D printing, I'll have to paint some lead soon so I don't get abducted. Thank you very much for your comment!
I have been looking at this range to create a crusader army, l think they are amazing. Can l ask why you did not just go for the 15mm range? Was that because you wanted the option to print at 28mm in the future?
Partly yes, I didn't want to limit myself. The 15mm figures are pre-supported only and I prefer to have the files “clean” for any future use, and I guess it will be better to always scale down rather than up.
@MinisMyWay I recently found you and subscribed to you. I really appreciate the prompt response.
@@davidmartin6265 Thanks to you, that's what I started the channel for, to be able to exchange with other miniature fans, so thanks for your comment, I hope you enjoy the subscription, thanks for that too!
Very nice figures
Thank you very much, very kind
Lovely poses and great job on these crossbowmen!👍👍
True, very lively postures, I like the miniatures to have “pathos”
I prefer 15 mm compared to 28 , Cheers
Each scale has its function, but I also enjoy the 15 mm much more, thanks for your comment.
You’ve done a great job on these. Thanx from Australia
Thank you very much, very kind
This was the best tutorial I have seen. I loved it. Don’t know how I missed it 🤗🤗 even with the thousands I have painted I still struggle with horses.
Thank you very much! These videos are really just to remember how I made them, I don't pretend to teach anything. It's true that animals are quite difficult, even more so at this scale: to reproduce the visual sensation of fur would require so much work that it is unfeasible, horses are also often represented at a smaller size than would be appropriate and disproportionate to make them technically feasible and fit on a base... what can I explain that you don't already know! Thanks for your comment.
That looks fantastic
Thank you!
Really cool. 🏇
Thank you!
This is what i was looking for. Thanks!
Thank you for comment!
I have just discovered your channel. I have been looking at the Caballero miniatures who sell their STL files for printing at 28mm and at 15mm. I am interested in 11th Century Crusades. l want to build the armies at 15mm and I wanted to ask about your 3D printer set up? It would be so interesting to explain your production process.
I'm glad you find the channel interesting! Thanks for commenting. I have on my workbench some figures already primed and ready to paint from Reconquer Designs that I believe are some of the Caballero Miniatures you comment on. They are some crossbowmen and light cavalry and they are very nice, well proportioned, with a lot of variety and very lively. I hope to be able to paint them and upload video soon. Regarding the possibility of presenting my printing setup, thanks but I'm a beginner, and the intention of this channel is not to deal with 3D printing, there are already very professional ones. You have given me the idea to share a playlist with the most useful or informative videos I have seen on the subject, thanks!
Very impressive work my friend they look incredible and great tutorial
I can't pretend it's a tutorial, but I hope you found it useful, thank you very much.
You are very spectacular. I liked this!
Wow, thank you very much!
Amazing work!
Thank you!
These are spectacular! Any chance we may see the whole army soon? Much like the Aztecs, as glorious as these are as individuals I can't imagine how they'll look altogether. Well done!!
Sure, of course. In fact the army is already finished and only the commands are left to be published, but I want to include the army variant that allows me to add Almogavars, so I need some figures of crossbowmen and light cavalry with javelin from Reconquer Designs that I already have printed and just now drying before curing and that are also beautiful sculptures. Thank you very much, very kind!
@@MinisMyWay Ah, good point. Wasn't there also a religious order of knights that was unique to Spain during the Reconquista? Will there be any of those in your army, or is that a later period? Please forgive my impatience for seeing the whole force. You had mentioned early in your video that there were unique figures that you wanted to add. I can wait. . . , I think (?).
Yes sir, the figures you are referring to I think they are exactly the Almughavars that Lluís Vilalta painted and gave me as a gift: soldadets.blogspot.com/2009/06/host-dalmogavers.html You have made me look for information about military orders! Thank you, that was an interesting suggestion. There were many military orders involved in the reconquista, in the list of army does not appear any unit differentiated as such, but in a possible allied as Feudal Spaniards, yes; the one I know that could correspond to a Catalan-Aragonese monarch, the Order of Montesa, indeed was in Sicily. Maybe it could be a good idea to make an ally... and by the way a complete army, but it will be another project, because I just remembered that I also have to paint now 32 knights on foot in case I need to dismount the Knights!
Excellent. 👏
Thak you!
You can also use the "smooth" brush in meshmixer to get rid of the coat of arms on the shields and horses before printing :) Great job, love it!
From my tests with Meshmixer, I have installed Messmixer instead. I think I'll leave it to the professionals for now. Great sculptures, thanks a lot! And thank you for the tip!
They do look good, lovely work
Thank you!
Good to see the caparisons are correct; that is, without the Games Workshop tail hole.
It looks like the Stirywar guys have done a good job of research. Thanks for your comment.
Excellent. Thank you.
thanks to you for watching the video
great colors, those figures look very well sculpted
Thank you!
Beautiful paint job! Stunning
Thank you!
AI voiceover? I could tell by some of the pronunciation
Fortunately, we can still realize
I always come away with your videos with something interesting, and new. I haven’t tried. I was interested why you use metallics to brush the sides or the mains of the horses? Very interesting. I like your color schemes.
I use a very light dry brush of its corresponding metallic color on white or black horses rumps and backs, and that is because the clean and brushed hair of horses is usually silky and very shiny in the sunlight, almost iridescent. With metallic colors I try to reproduce that effect. Thank you!
Very impressive, Alex. Your color selection is terrific and really makes your prints come to life. And the production of your videos shows the enjoyment you are having. You've convinced me to buy and learn to use a resin printer. It'll take a bit of engineering here. My winters are cold and so is my basement.
Thank you very much! The temperature is extremely important, to keep the printer at a stable temperature between 25-30º I built a cabinet and installed a thermostat connected to a small electric blanket to keep it warm, it is a very cheap blanket that they sell to treat contractures and similar ailments. Although now they sell specific heaters for printers that save DIY. Show us your results!
Splendid paint job, basing, figures...and even music, truly fantastic!!👍👍😍😍
Thank you Phil, you are always very kind
Extremely impressive work
Thank you very much
Is this normal acrylic or what?
It is normal acrylic paint, I use a very widespread brand among modelers. The Air range is acrylic paint but diluted to be used directly in the airbrush, you can get the same effect by adding water to normal acrylic paint, but in fact you can paint as in the video with normal acrylic paint. The washes are special very diluted acrylics that darken the recesses more than the smooth areas.
Nicely done.
Thank you!
