I was born in Newburgh in 1992. I opened a few friendly restaurants here in hopes to change people's minds about some spots in Newburgh. I think it's better to be part of the solution than to run from newburgh and trash talk it as you run.
The world needs a Charlie interview! Spmebody to pick his brain about all the sites he has seen and what he thinks the main cause of these situations are, as well as solutions.
I'm in my 20s and grew up nearby. I think more bad elements have come from the city, so sadly no one was prepared for an influx of violent illiterate hoodrats. It's a really sad story and the same would happen to any other area with the same circumstances.
The city of Newburgh was once a beautiful and thriving. I’ve heard people say it was once considered the sixth borough of New York City. It’s sad to see especially knowing what this place once was.
Yes! It fascinates me that these neighbourhoods are so run down but they have such lovely, cared for cars. I guess it gives their image a proud and prosperous face to the world.
I live 20 minutes from newburgh it’s nice houses and a bunch or trees it’s the suburbs. Had a girl I messed with live in Newburgh went to her crib once and never went back it’s another world compared to every town around it
Crazy thing about it is that rent in Newburgh is steady climbing as people in the lower Hudson Valley region are moving further upstate for affordability.
Some attractive buildings but it's such a shame it's so dirty. Pleased there seems to be businesses going. I guess if the residents gave it a cleanup it would be gentrified and those living there would be driven out. I would like to see what the home interiors are like.
What horrible places and how strange that they are not in sepia color! and the media there still dare to criticize other countries like Mexico, Brazil, and all of Latin America and other parts of the world! Why doesn't Hollywood make them famous with sepia color as they use to put in images of movies from Mexico??? 😂😂😂
Hollywood won't do that because they don't care about America, anymore than they care about child trafficking. Well, they're concerned about child trafficking, but it's more of a "we don't want to be exposed" kind of fear.
The events of 9/11 pushed a large population of former NYC residents northward. I lived in Newburgh on North st and Carpentar ave since I was 4 yrs old.Moved with my family out of state in 1996. Liberty St, Broadway, First St, third st. all connecting streets and neighborhood were never places that were safe but that push-in from the city really tipped it over the edge. There were alot well intentioned politicians and community organizers that really tried to make things better.
As you watch these poor quality videos of Newburgh, be aware that speculators have bought up even the shakiest dwelling and have quadrupled the prices. if you're interested in finding property in Newburgh, good luck in locating a home the speculators haven't gotten to first!
I left newburgh in June 2006 to join the Marine Corps, came back briefly for about 6 months in 2010 going into 2011. It's been more than a decade and i do not miss anything of or related to it. It was a shxthole then and still is now
It's because the Appalachians pass through the Hudson Valley and cross the river at the West Point-Storm King area into Westchester/Putnam by Cold Spring, and then head through Mass to VT, so it is a very beautiful region.
I used to live there back in the early 2000’s… I was the only white guy in the neighborhood, ha😂! Loved all the culture. Even attended the local Catholic Mass a few times. Beautiful place!
I lived at 30 Lutheran St for 25 years .. Youngblood was still alive still and he would have all his old school friends chilling and he always cooked a pig in the summer...
