NYC Most Dangerous Neighborhoods? : Walking Brownsville & East New York, Brooklyn via Sutter Avenue
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 сер 2020
- I walk on Sutter Avenue through the NYC neighborhoods of Brownsville & East New York to Conduit Boulevard. I also got caught in a rain storm in the middle of my walk.
From Wikipedia:
"Brownsville is a residential neighborhood located in eastern Brooklyn in New York City. The 1.163-square-mile (3.01 km2) area that comprises Brownsville has 58,300 residents as of the 2010 United States Census. The neighborhood's boundaries are unclear, but it is generally bordered by Crown Heights to the northwest; Bushwick and Cypress Hills to the north; New Lots to the east; Canarsie to the south; and East Flatbush to the west.
Founded in its current incarnation in 1858, initially a settlement composed of Jewish factory workers, Brownsville underwent a major demographic change in the 1950s that saw an influx of African-American and Latino residents. Since then, it has consistently held one of the highest poverty and crime rates of any neighborhood in New York City."

The noise, the bad weather and the dirty streets...anything looks very New York which I miss and love.
Bad weather? The hurricane in the south wiped out entire homes. Having vacationed in Wolfeboro New Hampshire for 30 years on Lake Winnipesaukee a 29 mile long lake that freezes four feet thick I've ice fished in -30°. With 6' snow drifts. That's bad weather. I love my season's and while we went to Florida starting in 1973 with a week in Florida and a week in Disney World and driving was part of the vacation I'll take the Northeast any day. As for the streets? With me a gum wrapper doesn't hit the pavement. People are pigs, we have a greater infrastructure as the job is forever ongoing.
Michael S. Right lol in the northeast the worst weather we get is a blizzard which happens once or twice every few years and we got like 2 snow days this past winter
Masa where did you go?

The problem is that the internet will be flooded with so many selfie’s and bullshit that this will get buried. But I agree 100% the future humans ability to view the past will be insane. Speaking of such, look up early video documentaries of New York and other cities and you’ll get the same glimpse into the past.
I am pretty sure most of it will still be steel and concrete in a hundred years. Although who knows, maybe alchemy finally delivers, but I doubt it.

Very good video ActionKid! I commend you for having done such long walk, passing aggressive drivers and wind and rain to depict details of major Brooklyn streets. Well done.

I miss BK.
This was very enjoyable to watch because there was no annoying talking, which allows viewers to have their own inner dialogue. There is a certain joy I feel even looking at the most overgrown foliage and old buildings that I don’t feel anywhere else. I agree, mind your business, keep it moving and no one will bother you. Had you any fight when you was a child? Was that really dangerous to live there? Is it most dangerous hood of NY?
Damn you look good mami
Reading all the comments and I’m like it’s really not that bad people... Brooklyn is and always be my home, yes there are some places I won’t just randomly walk but all in all just always have your guard up and don’t get caught slipping! No more mask in NY I see... nah he was dead plugging u in with a slide 😩
Are you serious... Action kid was in danger...I grew up in Brooklyn too... but that area is HELL
That's the 90s and Rutland Rd. Shit ain't no joke not to mention bk and NY as a whole is the murder capital at this moment
Artful Dodger Now it’s really Iraq vibes... Like I said I feel no matter where u are (coming from Brooklyn iono I always have this mindset) keep your guard up. I been all over Brooklyn again don’t go walking and probing, u never know I guess just growing up there I don’t feel it’s that bad we were taught how to survive and what to do, when and where not to go. Never get caught slipping Period. Not going against anyone oppinions and thoughts. My fam is on 93rd and Rutland and all thru ENY, Heights, Stuy & Flatbush. Example my ex lived in Albany houses and use to tell me call him when I’m outside, like don’t come in alone and so I did. Keep ya guard up and know how to move.
Growing up in the bush I know we (well me) never just randomly would go to another hood just strolling. Bk had changed a lot (not Brownsville 😩) over the years. It is indeed now what I can say 90’s all over and my mom says 70’s, early 80’s. Still being born and raised, 35 years there I’m just giving my POV.
They was bouta lure him in to rob his ass. Ya dont see dat?

yo in all honesty it doesn't even look bad. all the people look clean (wearing all those crispy white tees) and all the cars look new and expensive. the only sus thing is that there are pretty much no white people in the vid. but I wouldn't say the place looks crime-ridden or destitute. perhaps the opposite is true.
@@randomdude7384 Random I'm in that area every day and have seen countless murders. Roped off blocks and crime scene tape ...its getting bad out there. Brooklyn has the shooters. Dont go out there at night and it ain't sht compared to the 80s and early 90s

Kiero Kiero Sorry to hear you had that experience brethren. However, not sure what part of Brooklyn you were in; most of Brooklyn has been gentrified (LOTS of White people) the dilapidated comment is incorrect. Brooklyn does not look like it did in the early 70’s and 80’s. And if you experienced some type of racial behavior here in Brooklyn, it may have been instigated; don’t come to Brooklyn with racism (facial expression, movements or words). There are MANY neighborhoods here in Brooklyn. Se’lah.

I'm from the mid-west and New York City frequently. (Lived in New Jersey for a few years) I've walked through this area numerous times, been into stores and restaurants. Never had a problem.
AK,
Good walking tour!! I don't care where you travel always be aware of your surroundings. Not a single soul bothered or gave you a hard time. It's like the neighborhood knows, that's Action Kid he brings no harm or trouble, let the man through. Yeah, that's Action Kid!✌🏾😁 Lolol
Dope vid bro!. Seen one of my neighbors during the walk. Sutter and Mother Gaston. Be careful out there bro. You looked like food a couple times.
Nobody prob going to push up on him during the day. At night, he could had his food eaten.
😄😄😄☝🏾
I love your channel!!! You literally go everywhere lol
Love the raw sounds of the city.
Really get to know a lot more about the entire NYC watching these videos. But keep yourself safe, AK. We don't want anything happen to you while we are entertained.
Going in the early morning, smart move, most all still sleeping, still walking alone in a rough neighborhood at anytime is risky, next time bring a friend.
Specially a local
Hi Actionkid, you're so BRAVE!🤺🤺
I was just out there a month ago. I wouldn’t say it’s that dangerous and I lived in ENY since I was in 3rd grade.
I was so scared for you ActionKid! Some parts of NYC are just a No No! Glad you’re safe though!🙏🏽❤️
