  • Razer Atlas review. I compare the Razer Atlas to the Skypad 3.0 to help you understand the differences between hard glass mousepads that offer extremes of speed! This is now my favourite mouse pad, earning its spot on my desk 🤙
    Razer Atlas offers a touch more control than the Skypad, is that what you're looking for?

    17 Apr: Coating update!! About 4 weeks later, with 3 weeks of constant use, 6-10 hrs of use a day, the coating is still in place and appears to be consistent in high and low traffic areas 🫡

    Excellent review! I watch reviews instead of playing them on a window I'm not looking at so I appreciate you're doing more than sitting at a desk talking directly into a webcam. I'm seriously considering picking up an Atlas from my local razer store now since I've been gradually moving up in mouse pad speed from a gigantus to LGG saturn to LGG mercury. Every time I moved up in speed it felt like an increase in control despite the lower stopping power, mouse aiming got closer to making a gesture than manipulating an object.

    Nice review! I honestly forgot that you were going to upload this video so it came as bit of a nice surprise when I saw it in my recommended feed. As a Skypad 2.0 user, I can say that I haven't noticed the flex in the middle of the pad at all. It takes a considerable amount of pressure to make it bend inwards. I feel like if I didn't already own a Skypad, I would definitely go for one of the 2 new options in the glass pad market as they are released by bigger companies and offer better quality overall.

    • @LogPileGaming
      @LogPileGaming  Рік тому +4

      Hey Rain, that's a really fair comment, it strikes me as odd that I notice the flex so much and you don't notice it at all, maybe I'm just sensitive to that sensation?! I'm not suggesting it makes a difference in game, but it makes the product feel more premium to have a solid base - and generally feels nicer to use. Thanks for stopping by 🫡

    Great review I just got mines today.. I have 3 glass mousepads and one ceramic. Out of the glass mousepads Atlas is my favorite. As far as hard pads my main is TJ exclusive cerrapad. • @eirin099

    extra control in the form of slight stickyness at the end of swipes may come from it being smoother as you mentioned, more surface contact should (i think, im no physicist sorry) cause moisture to have a bigger effect also it may just make it slower since more surface contact (?)
    i noticed this with my superglide atleast (had to return cus warp/qc issues tho) and i think its probably why people report it being slower than the skypad which is also reported to be rougher to the touch

    • @LogPileGaming
      @LogPileGaming  Рік тому

      Hey Bacon! I'm honestly not sure about this (although its a good idea!), cos the superglide is smoother than the atlas and offers less control than the atlas does. It could be the way the coating feels on the skates, or the way the micro texture surface is designed, I've no idea honestly, but the atlas is low key goated 👌

      Hey man!! thanks for the support 🙏 I would recommend you give the Ghostglide Cyclone dots a try (if you want a smooth glide), or you could try Tiger Ice or CorePad GPX form fitted feet (if you want a touch slower glide on the pad).
      The bigger the skates are the more likely it is you'll run into issues with dust etc, but i tend to prefer bigger skates personally because it slows down the glide slightly (which is good for me). It's all preference honestly, i hope that helped?

    Hello, thank you for such a solid review! I wanted to ask about your last comment of the "...HSK pro and Atlas was now your favorite aiming combination...". For this combination are you using after market feet on your HSK pro, and if so what feet? I currently run the HSK Pro, and have been trying to figure out what aftermarket feet would work. I know you mentioned Tiger Ice, but was unsure if that is what you were currently running.

Would you recommend I start with "Middle Ground" (your picture) and do Glass Pad + PTFE skates or something like Superglide2 glass dots (just ordered yesterday) with my saturn pro cloth pad?

    • @LogPileGaming
      @LogPileGaming  6 місяців тому +1

      Hey Jason, I think the Superglide 2 glass skates are much slower than the 1st verson of glass skates they released. So you'd probably have a very different experience to me witht that version. I'd say a glass pad can work well for slow sens, but it certainly isn't considered meta for tac fps games. I'd suggest it's fun regardless 🤣 if you want that fun experience, a glass pad would be a good investment, and if you want a more controlled experience on glass, the skypad dots are great, if you want something really smooth (like the air hockey type feeling) then a hard ptfe dot would work a dream (Ghostglides Cyclones is my preference).

    funny thing, razer mice (also some Fantech Helios XD5 wireless not as smooth on SP 3.0) with focus sensor (Basilisk v2 & Viper v1) are not as smooth while trying control crosshair in FPS games with Skypad 3.0, but Logitech (especially wired) mice are frickin' flawless on skypad 3.0, but yeah, skypad 3.0 gets warm with your hand moving around, it's very welcome, and personally, i don't need armsleeve with SP 3.0, rather than having cold surface, in 11-20 Celsius temperature countries Skypad 3.0 is very practical, and no it's not loud mousemat

    Skypad is available for 51,75 Euro on Amazon DE right now (09.2023), while the Atlas sits at 119 Euro. That perhaps makes any perceived difference a moot point. Alas.. i personally don't feel much of a difference between a premium cloth in terms of glide. I can push my mouse around just as easily on cloth as i could on the (new) glass and it stops by itself almost the same. I am still not sure if glass is really worth it. However, after Skypad came down from 79 to 52 effectively i will give it another go.

      Hi Prodigy, I didn't realise the skypad had reduced so much in price, that's kind of crazy! I've said in my later videos that glass is glass, all differences are minor between them, but the enthusiast community still enjoys hearing the differences.
      I agree it is possible to use a cloth pad, equally it is possible to use glass. I could also probably use scrap metal if it was flat! the point i am trying to address in these videos, are those small marginal gains between surfaces/products optimised and marketed for gaming.
      I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the skypad if you do try it!

      @@LogPileGaming This is my second attempt with glass. My path so far: cloth -> soft plastic -> hard plastic -> glass -> premium cloth -> glass again, since price drop.
      Reason was i didn't feel much of a difference between a textured hardplastic-pad and the somewhat-scratchy skypad. Noise also was kinda equal.
      Skypad was still expensive and so i returned it. Now that the price came down and i will give it another chance :)
      I also try the Pulsar glove you recommended in another video. Thank you :)

      @prodigy_xd I've never used a plastic surface, theres a thought! 😅🤔 I would expect them to be similar but not identical.
      Great choice on the sleeve! I use my pulsar palm long sleeve daily 👌

      @@LogPileGaming I like the open mindedness - the concept I would've employed is "thermal conductivity"* from what I can hear nothing to do with air flow if you feel like looking it up. I didn't mean to be rude I just believe video time is better not extended if there is no knowledge base, I appreciate trying to add to the information in the review though.

      @Ellipsis115 You're right I think explaining that it feels different is ok, but trying to to think of why (without any knowledge) is poor behaviours. I'll take that into my future content - thank you for the feedback 🫡
