This is great! Watched so many others that either left raw edges (who wants that!) or didn't give clear instructions. Really like this method, thank you😊
So glad you like this method@@yvonnerogers6517 it’s my personal favourite for sure 😃
This is one of the best tutorials I've seen for making boxy pouches. I can't wait to make some using your method. Thank you very much!

Thank you! First zippered pouch I’ve made that doesn’t look homemade
That’s wonderful to hear@@jckansas6698 👏 🥰
Wow! I’ve made tons of boxy pouches, but this is by far the easiest, most accurate and quick make! Thank you ❤
You’re welcome and I’m glad you found it so easy to do! 😊
Excited to try these. Such a lovely thorough tutorial. Thank you. Off to find some lovely fat quarter bundles now! Xk

That’s great @@Mamprobi-yoo they really do make great gifts that are affordable and adorable. I’m sure you’re recipients will love them 😃
This is the best video of pouches that I have seen. It is a lot more steps, however it is worth it!
Thanks @@mariastone1615 and you’ll be surprised at how fast these boxy zipper pouches are to sew when you’re not filming and chatting at the same 😂
Hey Chris, guess what after watching your video I made 31 of these little zippered pouches and I am donating them to a charity in their thrift shop
@@l.alongi1544 Yeah that’s great 🥳 I’m sure everyone will love them 💕
What price are they selling them for? I'm thinking of a fundraiser as well.
@@ritaleferink1803 I recommend selling them for what you think your customers would pay or work out your costs plus labour and price them accordingly. Costs all depend on how much you pay for your fabric and interfacing. The good thing is quilting cotton and non woven interfacing is fairly inexpensive as are zippers and you don’t need much to make quite a few of them. If you batch sew quite a few at the same time it doesn’t take too long to make several of them at a time either.
French Seams are so exquisite and such a high-end quality style!!! ... Thank you for the great instructions Chris!!! ... I'll be making these in a larger size and with Vinyl for the main panel as a "Travel Toiletrie Bag" gift for the men in my family, they will love them!!!

I have made many purses and bags but never used a French seam on anything but maybe a pillowcase. This is great. Thanks!
You're welcome, French seams are a great way to finish a project and make it look really nice. 😊
Am going to make!!! Thanks!
You’re welcome @@colleenbergjord9988 😃
You are a GEM! I have made box pouches several different ways and this is BY FAR the neatest and simplest method that I have ever tried! Plus, as you said, the French seams give it enough structure without having to use thick interfacing. Thanks so much!!
I'm so happy you found a new favorite method!
I really like this method. I've been using the Malanie Ham method of hidden seams for years, but I will try this. Your method appears to be faster for thinner (cotton) fabrics.
That’s great@@kima.6611 and thank you 😃
Loving how you made this with French seams. I’m making some of these. You are a wonderful teacher thank you.
You’re welcome and thank you. I’m glad you’re making some too 😃
Made this yesterday - thank you! I decided to use a lighter weight fusible fleece and I quilted the exterior….turned out so nice. You have such a great way of explaining all of the steps and made a slightly intimidating project all the more doable!
That’s fantastic @@PCOH051610 and I am sure it looks fabulous too 💕 I’m so glad the video gave you the confidence to make one… and I have a feeling you’ll probably make even more now that you know you can make a gorgeous boxed zipper pouch and have fun quilting it too 😃 👏
Thank you so much. You made it look so easy. Don't think I'll be cutting out corners to box corners anymore. You are an awesome teacher!
Thanks @@PamelaAnderson-f1p 💕 they really are quick and easy to make the lining sits so neat and tidy inside compared to sewing boxed corners 😃

Your pouches are so cool, Chris! Very classy. Your tutorial videos are the best! Thanks so much :)
You’re welcome @@stephparkes100 and thank you 💕
I’ve watched this a bunch and am trying tomorrow. I have always cut the squares when doing boxed corners. This seems so much more efficient.
Did you make it?
What I love about this method and cutting out the boxed seams when I do is that the boxed seams always line up and measure the same… so no more uneven boxed seams.
@@deannas1515 I did. I loved the not cutting the corners. Unfortunately I was a bit cavalier with my measurements on the corners so am trying another bag tomorrow. One side is definitely smaller than the other. 😊 I’m still a newish sewer, been doing it for years, but trying to make my stuff look better.
Thanks so much for this tutorial. And for the clear instructions and for the measurements.

Your video is very informative. Just one tins suggestion from someone that’s very adhd and easily distracted. Less is more with jewelry. I find myself looking at all those pretties and have to back up the video lol. I really love you labels too. I must do this but I’m having a difficult time finding the right words to put on them.
Thank you but I never take my jewellery off except for a shower, I did it once and lost an expensive ring so now my jewellery is always on me or in the safe so I don’t risk losing any ever again.
Very nice 😊 you have a new subscriber 😊
Love this boxy pouch. Where did you have the labels made. They are simple yet perfect!
Lovely tutorial - managed to make one today and it’s lovely. If I was going to make a bigger one, what size could you recommend and what size would I cut out the corners to box them? Ideally I’d like to make a matching set - maybe the larger one longer and much deeper? What size boxed corners could you recommend?
That’s great@@suedodd639 👏 to make it larger simply work out how much bigger you want it and add the extra length and width to the pouch and box the corners bigger for example you could try adding 2” to the height and maybe 1” to the width and cut out 1” for the boxed corners. See how that size goes. Have some fun experimenting with different sizes… even bigger pouches still won’t use up much fabric or take any longer to make 😃
4:23 oh cool. I was looking online at spotlight and couldn't see these
That’s great 😀
Could you use this method for any lined pouch with a bottom with boxed corners? Great video! Thanks so much!
@@meganmaurer7722 that would require a different technique as there would be side seams and usually only two boxed corners. This technique suits this style as it has the four boxed corners.
I just found you this am, excellent tutorial. You are a great teacher! I’ve been wanting to find a tutorial on French seams for pouches, this is perfect. BTW, I like that foot that you are using, by chance do you know the size or name? Thank you! I’ve also subscribed and will look at your other tutorials. ☺️
