That fabric is the most beautiful I think I’ve ever seen.
It is very pretty and affordable, it’s from Walmart!
Was easy as you said. Made 12bof them. Loved continuous zipper merhod!!
Fantastic!
Beautiful - love seeing a new method for making a zipper pouch 🩷
Thank you!
Love it! The zipper tabs at the end just give it that extra boost. Thank you
Thank you!
Nice info/instruction--i like this pouch & getting an aha! Moment for how the zip is done. And love your fabric & attention to the pattern placement!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
This is excellent! Thanks so much for sharing your pouch pattern and tutorial with us!
You are welcome! I’m glad it was helpful.
So I just finished making this zipper pouch. It went together better than any other pouch I have previously made! I hope everyone will try it.
Fantastic! Spread the new around 😉
What a great, quick project. The zipper tab really elevates the pouch.
Thank you! The tab is so easy, but very effective!
I love the simplicity of this pattern. Thanks ❤
Thank you! That’s what I’m after, make things less complicated.
I will certainly be making this bag . I love the idea of using one of the zipper to make two bags one for me and one for my sister ❤️. Great tutorial 👍
Thank you, they are so quick to make it’s hard to make just one.
What a classy, quick project, Thanks so much!
Thank you! I’m glad you like it.
Perfect little purse , thankyou
Thanks!
Thank you so much for another amazing video. I just wanted to know how to sew an exposed zipper tab, but will now try the continuous zip too.
Another perfectly clear, useful & enjoyable tutorial. Thank you so much ☺️
Thank you!
Thank you for this amazing pouch pattern and video! It's a very professional looking pouch, yet easy for a beginner!
Thank you, I’m glad you like the video!
Love the idea and design of not having a seam on one side. Thank you for your detailed tutorial which is so so helpful when we are trying to make it. My only worry is installing the zipper pull as I am not good in doing it.. it always ends up uneven length after so many try. I still plan to make this pouch. Thank you again for sharing your expertise with us.😊
Thank you! When it comes to the zipper pull, take your time, stay calm and it will be just fine. I have a video showing you my technique of putting the pill on, so check it out.

Thank you! 💗
Thank you so much great video will certainly be making this 😀
I’m glad you enjoyed it, thanks you!
Thank you! I love this!
I’m glad, thank you!
this really was great and fast - I had a major fail though at properly sewing the zipper - I had an open gap between the edge seem and the extra 1.5 inches of zipper - so I reworked it and just closed it all in with no tab at the end of the zipper..after rewatching the video I think I see what I did wrong..can't wait to try this again..thanks for sharing..
I home you will have better results 2nd time around 🤞🏻
Love this!
Thank you!
OMG! This fabric is so beautiful. I would like buy this 😊
A full yard of this fabric would be cheaper than a shipping cost 😉. You can make one!

I have made a lot of zipper pouches and tried many different zipper methods. I can't wait to try your method. I don't have an industrial sewing machine and find that sewing the side seams with the zipper inside to be very hard on my machine and on my nerves!!! I know the pouches will turn out very professional with your wonderful method! I am going to make the front panel from EPP hexagons so this is perfect in that I will not have to deal with one of the sides. I can adjust it to the length I will need to make the seamed side look nice. Thank you for your very easy to follow tutorial.
Thank you for your comment. Yes, this is exactly why I came out with this method. I’m glad you find it helpful.
@@justynathandmade Zipper pouches are so handy and I enjoy giving them as gifts. I'm going to make one tomorrow because I can't wait to make one and it will take awhile to get my hexagon panel made. I learned the Butler method of installing zippers where you pull the zipper into the seam on one side, but then you still have to deal with the other side. You have really simplified zipper pouches. I also learned to sew the seam allowance in the lining 1/4" larger and that makes it fit so much better. One other little trick I learned in sewing the lining is also helpful. Where you leave the 4" opening for turning, instead of just backstitching on each end of the opening, I back stitch and then make a 90 degree turn and sew down the 1/2" to the edge of the lining piece. It makes it easier after turning to get the opening to line up nicely so that you can sew it much closer to the fold. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, thanks again!
@@1955dmb All makes perfect sense. Thank you!
Terrific video.

I love this pattern and so many of your other ones too! I'll definitely be making some of these bags soon. Also, where do you get your tags from? They look beautiful!

I love watching you sew. I am just cutting material to make some. I need to get some tags, could you please recommend what size rivets to use for label . Many thanks
Thank you! I’m using 4mm rivets to attach by tags. I think rivets between 3-6mm should be fine.
I’m so excited to try this! Any reason why we couldn’t top stitch before we stitch around the outside? Or does that make the lining wonky?
If you topstitch before sewing the side seam it make is harder to match the top seam. You would have to leave at lease 1/2" on each side without topstitching. I think leaving topstitching for later give a better result.
@@justynathandmade ty for explaining!
Thank you SO MUCH for this!! I'm in a pinch and need to find a zippered 11" bag. If I do this and it to be bigger, how would I adjust the measurements of fabric? So for instance, if I need a finished bag of 11" x 10" would I just double those measurements twice?
You need to add the difference of the measurement to the finished size of the project. So if you need 11”W you need to add 7” to the W and to get 10”T add 5.5” to T. I hope that will be as close as possible to what you need.
O love this method! Can you explain where I could add a wristlet strap?
Thank you! You can clip it on the pull itself or add grommet on the side like I did on this “Darling” pouch justynathandmade.etsy.com/listing/942052876
Love little pouch. Could you box outside and king together so lining stays down?
You could box using a French seam technique, lining and outer together.
I love this fabric! Would you mind sharing where you got it? Great tutorial as well. Thank you

@@justynathandmade Thanks for taking the time to get back to me!
Justyna-what a beautiful pouch! Is it possible to use a regular zipper with the end sewn to the folded side and opening/top of the zipper at the side seam?
Thank you! If you want to use “ready-made” zipper, you would have to cut the end and split it. You can sew in both sides, folding the “beginning ends” of the zipper at the half point. So you tape wouldn’t be continuous, but you could still take the panels from one piece of fabric.
@@justynathandmade "folding the beginning ends of the zipper at the half point" - not sure what that means. Fold the zipper fabric away from the teeth?
I created a quick video to explain, I hope it's helpful. Here is the link, it's unlisted, so it won't show up on the list of video on my channel - ua-cam.com/video/mkncNP7uqPk/v-deo.html
Is there a pattern to get or just using your measurements from the video? Love the fabric with the bird ~
Thank you! There is no pattern file needed, I included all the measurements in the description box of the video, so there is no need to write anything down through the video.

Love it, where did you get zippers?
I got the zipper tape on Amazon and I made the pull myself. Check out Kelly Rao video on how to customize a zipper pull.
Does any type of zipper work or just coil zippers?
I didn’t test all zippers available out there. You can always test the zipper you want to use before starting.

Justyna, thanks so much for the link! I love it.
It is sold out at all the Walmarts in my area. Im going to go there and check anyway...
@@denisehosner3405 Ohh, yeah I got it som time ago. I hope you'll find something nice.
It looks like the boxed corners are cut up 1 inch and over 1/2", not 1/2" x 1/2". Now Im confused. Please help..
Please listen to the video audio, I explained that you should be measuring from the seam and not the age. Pay attention on the folded edge, the folded edge acts as the seam line.
Hello I made the pouch. But I having problems the zipper is no closing. I made the zipper pull at Amazon they were saying it was for dress zippers. That is what I am using. I am sad I can get the final product. Any help ? Please!!!!
You have to make sure the zipper tape and zipper pull are the same size. I use zipper tape #5 and pull #5. The zipper by-the-yard are usually double-sided. That means you can insert the pull from either way. Here is a link to a zipper tape I use - www.amazon.com/dp/B0B82LL57V/ref=as_sl_pc_as_ss_li_til?tag=justynathan03-20&linkCode=w00&linkId=7886bc4047141a1cca546bb7d26afbf1&creativeASIN=B0B82LL57V
Also, you can try to make the zipper pull tighter, by squeezing it together.
Is the zipper folded in half horizontally facing down? Try kindly
I don’t really understand your question. The zipper is facing down on the right size of the outer fabric. It’s not sewn in into the side seam, so it doesn’t matter is up or down when folded horizontally.
What kind zipper that you use there and how can I find them
It’s zipper #5 tape, by a yard, split to use only one part.
