Became motor certified back in 2003 (Detroit) and I believe being a motor officer is one of the best jobs within any department... However our training instructors used the term "B.T.C.H.E." (Brake, Throttle, Clutch, Head & Eyes) as for the basic fundamentals in control that motorcycle... B: feathering & covering the foot brake. T: controling the throttle. C: controling the clutch. H: controling your head. E. Don't look at the cones because you go where you look... so look ahead of the cones (where your going) and learn to use your peripheral vision etc etc etc Guess this video brought back some fond memories from way back when though it sincerely seems like last week lol... Anyway, Ya'll stay safe and thanks for sharing.
Incredible training and shows how hard these policemen had to work to learn and perfectionate those skills with their bikes. I enjoyed very much the aerial footage and the music. Thanks for posting this excellent video.
Thank you for this video! Thank you for including where the officers dropped their bikes. I'm a new rider with a big bike to accommodate my height. While I'm not a police officer, I can appreciate when even a professional rider drops. I don't feel as bad when I take time in a parking lot now with my u-turns and other drills. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for sharing this. What I loved the most is the mistakes. We've all been there. Today I have a garage full of some really awesome bikes and I've been riding for 41 years now (fuck I'm old!) but I'm so thankful that I had an NYPD motorcycle cop for a father. I'll never forget his first lesson, "Any asshole can hold onto a bike a 70. A biker does it at 5." Today I ride my dressed 840lb Street Glide around like she's a scooter and the men all just glare in amazement. I gotta admit, it's really sexy to know how to ride a big harley and make the boys drool. Nice Video and be safe out there!!!
I remember Motor Officer Training when I went through. It was one of the hardest classes I have taken yet (with the exclusion of Accident Reconstruction). It was lots of fun, but man did it wear me out. This brought back lots of memories! Thanks so much for sharing!!
Man... Riding a street glide or any other bike for that matter doing this is NOT easy. Hats off to you guys.. I've been practicing..I'm coming for ya..😎
we just had our motor officers annual competition this past weekend and besides doing something like this BUT with everything all hooked together to make one long course, we also had a event called the tether, where 2 motorcycles were hooked together by a short tether lets call it, and the object was to ride through a setup course side by side with 2 main objectives, #1, not to break the tether, and #2, not knock over any of the cones that were part of the course, so that meant that the 2 motor officers had to pretty much stay right side by side so not to break the tether and to stay close enough to each other where they wouldn't knock over any cones..............
TheTruckerlyn If you haven't already found his video series, look up the Ride Like A Pro series by Jerry "Motorman" Paladino. He's on UA-cam and he has a web site. It'll be well worth your time.
As a civilian, I wish I had a bike to practice like that. These bikes cost $$$ no matter what make or model and makes it very different to practice on. If you ever think your job sucks, just imagine sitting at a desk or meetings all day long for 30 years. Enjoy being the top 2% of riders!
I love Harley but although I applaud the patriotism it is just about the worst tool for the job........BMW is perfect or Honda Pan European is what cops here in UK use ;not as glamorous but far more appropriate .....quicker,smoother,more balanced, better handling and 100 times more reliable.........and they have brakes !
Please grandpa..! With those 2 tons dinosaurs how fast you planning to go.?? from 0-60 in 3 minutes? A Honda CBR 650RR goes from 0-100 in 6 secs. You guys better lay off those donuts..
Harley's have no business in any police force. These non-handling, non-braking, non-steering, non-leaning, low-power, low-torque turds will get an officer hurt.

Respect! I am trying to encourage my Son to be a Good Man and be a Police officer. I showed him this video for inspiration. Thanks for all you do.
That’s awesome cool video. Actually learned a few obstacles to practice and a few other tips. Never stop learning to ride!

Advanced course I'd say. I used to think I was a pretty good rider when I rode every day but I can't compete with these guys.
Great video! Brings back some good memories of my days as a motor.
Wow - pure admiration for those skills!
😂😂😂
Wow that was really awesome these guys were really hard I would just like to say thank you for all the work that you do God bless

Instructions: throttle, brake and seat. Start the engine, drive and survive.

Do you only use Harley Davidsons. ?.
Amazing! Wish i could have those such fine tuned skills... i’m only good at.... being mediocre at everything
Impressive skills on these relatively big bikes.

Badass Boys in blue..
Imagine if they made police bikes nimble and fast 😂
Maybe get them a sport naked with some police lights on it. Light and speedy
James Barrett Then someone should start designing them with functionality in mind as well as maneuverability and speed.
I’m craving bacon now! Thanks...
BMW 👌то по легче рулится, чем H.D.👎
Amazing skill. Looks easy... it’s not!

Way to sound like an idiot.
Litto808 uh... You have anything that can outrun a radio?
Why would you need to go that fast?
