The little boy who did the voice for BAMBI. Was also in Son of Frankenstein as well in 42. It was the third of the Frankenstein movies by Universal studios. He grew up joined the US Marines. He was a LT. In the Vietnam war and retired as a Lt.Col after like twenty years.
25:53 This moment gets me every time. Bambi has been cared for by his father, The Great Prince. Bambi knows that going with him means certain safety. But he wouldn't leave Faline with noone to show her the way to safety. So, he left safety, his father, to go after Faline. I love this moment.
@@disneydateniteThis was absolutely my favorite movie as a child. My nickname to this day IS Thumper! My first tattoo was of Thumper...I got it at 17 yo. My ex fiancee who was a 21 yo Marine signed as my adult for the approval. He's the one who bought it for me. I'll be turning 59 I'm October and I STILL get holiday cards addressed with Thumper as my first name. 😂 It was because cuz there were SO many Chrissys in our hs circle of friends. I started off as Chrissy~Thumper, eventually I became Thumper. Then outside of hs circle on the road with my biker friends. Everyone has got a different name they use anyway. I had always just introduced myself to pretty much everybody AS Thumper. Pretty wild to think about it but my tattoo is half the age of this movie & it still looks good! I just want to let you both know I'd recently found you a few months ago. You're fast becoming Mt favorite reaction channel. Bambi is the fifth movie, after Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia and Dumbo. Then there wouldn't be another full-lenght movie until 1950, after eight years of package movies (similar to Fantasia but not a concert movie like it), when they did Cinderella, which saved Disney Animation Studios from potential bankrupcy.
The person who did the voice of the young Faline was also in the movie Gone With The Wind where she played the part of Bonnie the daughter of Rhett Butler and Scarlet O’Hara. Those were the only acting jobs she ever did in her life.
This is so old that all the animation was drawn by hand which gives you a real appreciation for the movie I think the first animated movie I remember seeing was The Jungle Book in one if its rereleases which Disney used to do occasionally before VHS
Snow White was first Disney feature 1937. Walt's first film was a short from 1922 called Little Red Riding Hood. His first Disney cartoon was with Mickey in Plane Crazy 1928. Shortly after this came the famous Steamboat Willie which was the first big Mickey Rat cartoon.
26:30 THIS! This always made me uncomfortable as a kid. The only part of the movie that I would sometimes look away from as a kid. It's just so well done. It conveys exactly the feelings it was meant to. Anxiety, discomfort, fear. Think about it. You see a quail on screen for less than 2 minutes and they managed to make you more uncomfortable with this death than Bambi's mother's death. (Don't get me wrong, that death makes you sad.) But this death makes you physically and emotionally uncomfortable. AND THIS IS MEANT FOR KIDS! And adults. This scene is just show powerful in a way that is hard to put into words.
@the_hopelesshobbit I have a grip. I just really love Disney movies. Especially the old ones. This scene was so well done to get those feelings across.
Yes, this was one of the earliest but is the fifth Disney full-length animated film. The first was Snow White in 1937 five years before this movie was released. Snow White was followed by Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Dumbo before Bambi.
Deer sleep in thickets basically grass and bushes stomped down on to flatten it out. Bambi and flowers interaction has always been one that makes me smile... You guys should react to "land before time" the other deer is Ramos you learn more about him in Bambi 2...
Bambi was actually the 5th full-length Disney animated film. The first one was Snow White, released 1937. In fact, Snow White was the first full-length animated film ever. There were only short cartoons before that.
Might I suggest a film for the both of you called..Somewhere in time. Staring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. It is considered a truly beautiful love story and the theme tune throughout the film is very beautiful too!!!!🕛💔❤😇🎉
I last watched this film only a week ago. It's still one of my all time favourite Disney films. And it was Disney's FIFTH film. The chronology goes: Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs 1937, Pinocchio 1940, Fantasia 1940, Dumbo 1941 and Bambi 1942.
First time commenting on here. But i just love the 2 of u. So glad you guys are doing disney. The intro is perfect! Tho i live for "cheese" lol. First of Walt Disney films is Snow White 1937. The classics are great! Thank you for creating this wonderful channel! Sending love from Canada ❤
I love when movies take there time to explain a concept ❤ maybe its cause im English and alot of British animated films are like this😊 plus bambi is a British book.
I loved your reactions! I hope you get to react to Lady and the Tramp as well as Fox and the Hound (who usually gets overlooked and it's such a great movie)
This was not only the first Disney movie but the first movie I watched in my life. My mom showed me the movie when I was 1. At the time she hadn’t seen it in 30 years, so she remembered the death scene as soon as it happened. I’m sure she must’ve regretted her decision at that moment. She was sobbing on the couch. Me, I was having fun with the movie. After that, for a long time, I would watch it once a day. I loved Bambi then and I still do today. Mom thinks the movie sucks 🤣
This movie has one of my favorite musical scores ever. The background paintings were designed by the wonderful artist Tyrus Wong, and you can see the influence of Chinese painting conventions. My four highest recommendations for animated movies made during Disney's lifetime: Cinderella (1950), Lady and the Tramp (1955, the first animated movie filmed in widescreen), Sleeping Beauty (1959, probably Disney's masterpiece), and 101 Dalmatians (1961).
I love the old classical music in this movie, Bambi is one my childhood favorites along with Charlotte's Web growing up. But I can't say I didn't cry a lot, but it taught me early on about circle of life, my dad was hunter, so he wanted me to learn early and so did grandpa. But other than that, I loved this movie. Plus, back in the day when it was on VHS I always loved the old Disney how it was all hand-drawn art back in the day for the animation compared to now. Not saying that the new animation is bad, but I do love seeing older drawn by hand art. I just loved how they made everything back then.
@TheDisneyLover58 I'm aware it's not made with Disney, I was just making another reference to childhood learning about the facts of life, and animals being killed.
One amazing thing about this movie is the music.. there are no sound effects just singing and music an voices… even the weather is music.. the one sound effect is the guns…. To evil to represent with music…
My favorite of the older films🤔 Its a tie between The Jungle Book and Peter Pan. With an honorable mention for Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland and Sword in the Stone
My favorite Disney cartoon movie is Pinnochio (1940). As a matter of fact, I have a tattoo of Jiminy Cricket on the outside of my right thigh. He's my conscience.
23:56 I call him Ronno. I won't tell you why. Just continue watching Disney movies, you'll find out. Also, in the wild, male deer will fight over females. That's what Bambi had to do here. Fight for his girl.
I’d love it if you react to all the early Disney films. When I go to Disneyland my place is fantasyland. Snow White, Cinderella, Alice in wonderland (and teacups), Dumbo, Mr toad ride (wind in the willows, still my favorite book!), Peter Pan. Plus, lady and the tramp. 101 Dalmatians, Pinocchio, chitty chitty bang bang, Swiss family Robinson… 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I can't figure out if *BAMBO First Blood* is a real movie or just a meme. But there's a real movie called *Son of Rambow* (2007), about two kids trying to make their own Rambo sequel.
I absolutely love this movie. I am planning on making a video on this movie. Analizing it and praising it. Also, pointing out the flaws. (Which are minimal)
Which one? I’m 69 so the first Tarzan movie I saw was with Johnnie Weissmuller, olympic swimmer, black and white movie from the 30’s. I haven’t seen it in decades. Movies like that have some cringey racist parts when it comes to people of color. It was supposed to be set in Africa but it was probably Hollywood.
This movie gets a lot of flack for killing off Bambi's mother and than just going right into a happy scene, unlike with The Lion King or the Land Before Time, where we were given a bit of time to grieve with the characters and process what happened. I've heard it said that this was a conscious decision in the writing room because this movie was being made and came out during wartime, specifically WW2, so they didn't want to have the little kids in the theater being forced to dwell on the idea of a dead parent. This is somewhat corrected with the release of Bambi 2, which focuses heavily on Bambi's grief and coming to terms with his mother's death.
I read something that the original Bambi story is like this but it’s meant to represent what it was like living in fear cause of hitler ..it’s actually really sad when you think about it .
Imo the intro is just cheesy enough,I like the intro,I haven't seen this movie since I was a teenager and I'm 52 now,im not sure but I think the first Disney movie is this or Cinderella. Im not sure though.
Actually believe it or not, skunks don't always smell bad, they just release a horrible stentch from their tails when they feel scared or threaned like if you scream when encounter 1 or you corner it then look out for the spray p.u!🦨🦨🦨

Snow White was the 1st disney movie
Correct 👍
Bambi is the fifth movie, after Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia and Dumbo. Then there wouldn't be another full-lenght movie until 1950, after eight years of package movies (similar to Fantasia but not a concert movie like it), when they did Cinderella, which saved Disney Animation Studios from potential bankrupcy.
@mevb Bambi was the fourth feature film and Dumbo was fifth
Oopppsss, correction DUMBO WAS released in 1941, and BAMBI was released in 1942. My mistake, must be twitterpated.
