Madame Adelaide is absolutely one of the best humans in any Disney animal related movies. She adores her cats and even opened her doors to all of the alley cats as well, giving them a place to live, eat, sleep and have shelter.
That's what I called respect :) she is really respect and love for her cats
roger and anita are also up there as they give a home to 99 puppies
It's always fascinating to me that Scat Cat is voiced by Scatman Crothers.
Thomas O'Malley is voiced by Phil Harris, who also voiced Baloo in The Jungle Book and Little John in Robin Hood.
Phil Harris sure loved voicing animals 😂
Phil Harris was a hugely popular actor in Old Time Radio, a regular on *The Jack Benny Show,* and later the co-star of his own show with his wife, Alice Faye. He was also a band leader, and famous for his novelty song recordings like "The Thing" and "That's What I Like About the South."
the song thomas o'malley is one of my favorites in the movie but also because the lyric "Abraham DeLacey, Giuseppe Casey, Thomas O'Malley O'Malley the alley cat" is all his names he has have in his life time. Like thoese are the diffrent names he had in diffrent homes by diffrent people and i think thats so smart.
In the french version, his name is Walter Giuseppe Désiré Thomas O'Malley
I actually named my first cat after him.

Being Hispanic I always only saw the Latin-Spanish Dub of this movie so that line is similar but still not the same since instead of “cat” it says jazz-cat or “gato jazz”…
So in Spanish “everybody” translates to “todos”, since it’s less syllables to spell out then the word jazz was added so it would still fit phonetically to the song…
So instead of saying “Everybody wants to be a cat” it says “Todos quieren ser un gato jazz”/“Everybody wants to be a jazz-cat”

Uncle Waldo was Bill Thompson's final voice role before he passed away in 1971. He was a veteran within cartoon voice acting during the Golden Age as he voiced many cartoon characters for many studios including MGM (Droopy Dog, the title character in the Screwy Squirrel cartoon Big Heel-Wahta, Tom's scaredy-cat cousin in Timid Tabby and Butch the Bulldog), Hanna-Barbera (Touché Turtle) and Disney (including The White Rabbit and The Dodo in Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Smee and the rest of Captain Hook's crew in Peter Pan, Jock, Bull, Dachsie the Dachshund, The Irish Policeman and Joe the chef in Lady and the Tramp, King Hubert in Sleeping Beauty, Professor Owl in the shorts Melody and Toot Whistle Plunk and Boom, Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore in many Donald Duck and Humphery the Bear cartoons, Station Manager Flannery in the short Pigs is Pigs (not to be confused with the Warner Bros Merrie Melody short by the same name) and was the first ever voice actor to voice Scrooge McDuck in Scrooge McDuck and Money (a couple of decades before Alan Young started voicing him).
Major mistake was when Edgar was envisioning the inheritance. He saw $$. he should have seen Franc signs. or at the very least ££, since he had an English accent.
I like Uncle Waldo when he's marinated.
It's just easier for an American audience as dollar signs are more familiar to them.
In nowadays, they called euros 💶 to France 🇫🇷

I always feel proud when a Disney movie takes place in France, my adoption country.
You know, the name of Berlioz and Toulouse are reference to french culture. Berlioz for Hector Berlioz, a french compositor, and Toulouse, for the town of the same name, but more for Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, a french painter famous for his painting of Le Moulin Rouge and its dancers.
Fun fact : in the french version, Roquefort and Lafayette are voiced by the same guy, who's also the french voice of Basil from " The great mouse detective " and many Disney others characters
And Marie is named after Marie Antoinette, the last ruling queen of France (as the royal family lost their ruling power at the end of the French Revolution).

But I'm not sure if that's the reason she was named Marie because it's a very common name in France
@a.g.demada5263 That's true, though it said so on the Wikipedia page for The Aristocats. I know Wikipedia isn't always right but still.

Roquefort is voiced by Sterling Holloway, who is also the voice of Winnie the Pooh!

I loved this movie as a child. I forgot what time of the year this movie would play on TV in America; all I recall was it being sometime close to Christmas. This movie would be annoying to my family, cause of how often my niece and I would watch it on VHS.

aristocats is my number 10 favorite disney movie. I still to this day love "Everybody wants to be a cat."
My FAVORITE part of this is Edgar with those two dogs.

The thing that always makes me laugh is that Edgar is so annoyed at not having access to the fortune because the cats would inherit first, ignoring the rather obvious fact that Adelaide would have to appoint a Trustee over the funds, given cats can't exactly manage finances, meaning as long as he kept up the cats care and welfare, he might as well have been the heir. He's not the brightest bulb, really
Not really a fan of the Bronze Age films (70s Disney) or the dark age (80s before "The Little Mermaid"), but I can see why they're so special to people!

Love this, one of my favorite movies! If you haven’t seen/reacted to it already, I recommend the animated Alice in Wonderland (disney version), it’s my favorite movie ever and it’s so much fun to watch! 😊
I'm not even a cat person but I love this movie so much! It just shows how good writing it is! This movie gets forgotten often and it's so sad Thomas O'Malley is such a wonderfully written character he deserves to be talked about more

Great reaction to an absolute classic. A few voices you might have recognised. O'Malley same VA of Balloo and Little John. Roquefort same VA as Kaa and Winnie the Pooh. Duchess same VA as Miss Bianca from the Rescuers.

I love this movie but can’t stand Thomas O’Malley and the geese, mainly Wauldo. I understand why Edger was PO’d though. I probably would’ve been too if I served a family for decades but not enough to do something horrible. For Edger is probably insulting that the money isn’t even going to humans. I genuinely love most of the characters in this film.
I watched this movie so much as a kid that my mom got sick of it lol. It’s been long enough for my mom to watch it again 😂
