Belle has got to be the strongest female character out there. She’s kind, shes sweet and considerate, she loves her dad, shes feminine, but does not stand to let herself be pushed around. She’s curious, adventurous, passionate, and sticks to her morals no matter what anyone says. She’s more proactive and actually thinks for herself during the whole movie. Belle for the win!
I do really like Belle's character but to be honest, many Disney female protagonists embody that combination of strength and kindness. Pocahontas is strong, self assured, empathetic, empowering and kind. Mulan is kind, just, thoughtful, resilient, selfless but also someone who stands for herself and her loved ones. Esmeralda is bold, confident and compassionate for her and other dispossessed people. Tiana is a hard working, non judgemental character who has her own vision in life and the grit to follow through. We all have our favourites but I do believe they're all pretty strong.

Strongest is a stretch. Says she’s not hungry then asks for a meal in the middle of the night. Disrespects people’s boundaries and complains when there are consequences. Spoilt is a bit more accurate
@@whenraindropsfall She's not spoiled. She has an insatiable curiosity. It's a consistent character flaw that had never been challenged before Beast caught her in the West Wing, and she probably learned from it, as we never see her follow her curiosity to the same degree again. She's a small town girl with dreams of adventure. It makes quite a bit of sense that she wants to see everything this magical castle has to offer - especially the off limits stuff.
But she learned her lesson and she made up for it. A character flaw does not detract from her strength as a character and role model.
Beauty and the beast is by far the most romantic, Disney film in Disney history.
What I love about it is the character development. The beast gets through his love for Bill, especially when he gives her the entire castle library as a gift which in my book - pun intended - Is the most romantic gesture ever because he knows and respects how passionate she is about literature.
This was a good movie for me when I was a kid. "You must control your temper!". That's a good lesson. I sunk in 20 years later lol
What the movie glosses over is that the prince was an ELEVEN year old who opened the door, saw a creepy old lady asking to sleep in his house, he said no and she was like "well then I'll curse you. Your servants too!"
Except he looks the same age as the portrait in his room when he transforms back and he clearly looks older then 11, I don't think they worded it right because it certainly makes it sound like he was only 11 when he was transformed
@ann-marieknight7117 he always had a baby face. We don't see his full body in the portrait, just his face. We get a flashback in one of the sequels and he definitely comes off as a bratty teen or preteen.
I forgot who it was but someone who worked on the movie said that the “ten years we’ve been rusting” line in Be Our Guest was thrown in there just because it fit the slot/rythm, so it most likely was something they only thought about for the two sequels/show and had to work around it because they accidentally stated a timeline which messed it up ☹️
The beast has got to be one of the best designed characters ive seen ❤ the blue eyes show his humanity
The original idea for Gaston's death was for him to survive the fall only to be ambushed by wolves.
But, they changed it to his death in the water.
but they did end up using this idea for scar's death in the lion king only the wolves are replaced with the hyenas.
This movie as such a metaphor for the AIDS crisis especially considering Howard Ashman who had a huge influence on this film was fighting AIDS and died from it right before the film premiered. Some people think the mob song was Howard Ashman somewhat addressing the AIDS crisis.
Even as a child i cried when Belle's father was treated so horrible by the villagers. 💔

I got so infuriated, when I was a kid.
Bella has great instincts while she was reading her book. She was dodging everything.
As for the Beast, he was selfish and unkind, but when he was human, when his sworn enemy tried to kill him.
He didn't even want to fight back
but when he saw Bella who came back, that's when he had motivation.
But Gatson, who tried to kill him he spared him, and he learned his lesson. I think he was thinking back when he was human, and he turned that princess away.
He learned to show consideration and kindness, and even though the Beast was mean, he was kind to keep his friends.
He did care about them to keep them around. My favorite character is the candle he's smooth and charismatic.
This movie came out the year I was born. My parents covered my room with Beauty and the Beast decorations, and my dad would carry me around singing "Be Our Guest", the one the house plays for Belle at dinner. I'm getting married later this year, and I'm going to dance to "Tale As Old As Time" with my dad. This movie carries so many precious memories ❤
Belle has been my favorite Disney princess ever since I was 3 years old, getting to watch this movie in theaters on my 21st birthday was so so special :) the wolf scene was even more intense in theaters! So glad you guys reacted to this film 💛 fun fact: right before Gaston falls to his death you can see skulls in eyes for a split second!
My favorite Disney princess movie of them all. I love the story, the animation and the music. My favorite song, I would have to say is a tie between "Be Our Guest", "Human Again", "Something There", and "Beauty And The Beast".
Also, Beast is technically what's known as a chimera in Greek mythology. He's got different animal features mixed into one character:
The head and horns of a bison, the brow of a gorilla, the tusks of a wild boar, the body and front legs of a bear, and the hind legs and tail of a wolf.

The transformation scene is my favorite part, always has been since I was a kid. Amazing piece of animated cinema.
But I laughed when he said “Let’s see if he still gonna be big. He still a nice size.” As a bodybuilder myself, I now watch this same scene with a similar mindset, thinking “Man, I think I’d rather stay the beast to keep them gains” 😂😂😂
I like to think the deer shown in the first shot was Bambi's mother and Gaston was the one who iced her.
Because the animation was reused from the movie?

My family went to Disney world in 2019 and one of the restaurants we ate at was beauty and the beast themed , every area was beautiful and had so much details … we ate in the ballroom themed area and it was so pretty to look at .. we also went and seen another area that was based off of the beast bedroom , it even had the glowing rose and his picture was on the wall and when it would let off flashes like thunder and lighting the picture would show him human and beast form…
I heard the beast also comes out as a meet and greet but that’s only doing dinner and our reservations was morning so we didn’t get to see him
We did meet Gaston in a meet and greet near a food area based off his bar , the guy did a great job of acting like him as while 😆
One huge fact though is the beast was never given a true name .. some call him Adam but that’s never been confirmed by Disney that it’s truly his name so that’s why he’s simply called the beast ,

This is literally one of the best films ever in Disney history. I remember doing the musical adaptation in school, I was Maurice, and it holds so much memories for me. I really do recommend you check out the live action, there’s a lot more details to the story, and the songs as well as the new ones are amazing. I also do recommend you to check out these two films that are similar Beauty and Beast stories. Penelope, starring Christina Ricci, Catherine O’Hara, and James McAvoy, tells the story of a girl of noble birth who was cursed due to the actions of her ancestors. Beastly, starring Alex Pettyfer, Vanessa Hudgens, Mary Kate Olsen, and Neil Patrick Harris, is a modern take on Beauty and the Beast. 💛💙🥀
After Snow White, this is my favorite animation. I think this was the first film I ever saw when I was a kid, I still have the VHS.

Please do "Huntch back of Notrodam" very good movie its also one of Disney's darkest animated movies. The art the story the message is one of a kind even tho the original story didn't end the way the animated adaptation did its still a good take on it. 👏🙌
Human Again was not in the original when it came out when I was 10.Beast and Prince Eric, and Prince Phillip were my favorite princes and their movies growing up in the 90's. Ms.Potts was Angela Landsbury was British -American, known for her show Murder She Wrote, and she was in plays in her early years I think.
There’s a children’s chapter series By: Sarah Mlynowski called “Whatever After “ each book has two siibling’s ( a brother and sister ) who move to a new small town and find a magical portal in the basement of there new house and sometimes they are transported into different fairytales.But not the Disney version,but the original version’s of whatever fairytales they happen t0 find themselves in.Anyway,great series :) But as Lavar Burton always said,”You don’t have to take my word for it:)”
