Fried Haloumi - quick and easy
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 сер 2024
- Demonstration of frying Haloumi Cheese - traditional Cypriot style cheese.
Fry on a hot pan with olive oil approx 2-3’mins each side.
Garnish with finely chopped chilli and squeeze lemon juice before serving.
Easy and delicious.
When I cook halloomi, I set the stove to low and let it marinade in its own juices for 5-10 mins. The cheese on the inside melts while the outside and firm and grilled to a perfect golden brown.
I love fried Halloumi cheese. Only way I eat it, alongside cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and sour dough bread with butter🤤 And I move salt, why I prefer cheeses like Halloumi and Feta even🥰
all that and you still skinny as a twig. Then here I am eating vegetable exotic spice diets and working out everyday and i still have the belly of a 13 year old.
I know a man that eats his with coffee with milk
@@stoneocean0065 Who eats coffee
What does it taste like can you put it on burgers
The caramelisation on the halloumi looks really tasty, well done chef.
I like to pop it in a burger bun with mushrooms yummy. Wish we could get packs that size in England, it's usually only a 3rd of the size and quite pricey too
Ye it is i got some from asda and jt was quite pricy for not a lot
I agree totally 💯
I live in London and the size of the mainstream supermarkets is rly tiny and expensive, however there are many Turkish or oriental local (super)markets in my area, that sell the cheeses in packages like in this video! Try to buy somewhere else and try new things out, if its possible in your area
I am from cyprus, i love halloumi and my grandmother makes it herself sometimes
Just the sound of cheese frying is like ASMR for my SOUL 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
I’m 32 years old. My brother made this for me a week ago.. first time I had it. been craving it since lol! So tasty!!!!!
I just made this, my family loved it! Thank you very much! I never thought of adding lemon before, and it turned out like a dream 😍😍

if you try haloumi from a Cyprus farmer home made its next level .unfortunately for us not in Cyprus we have to do with the supermarket ones.
I am sick but have some in this fridge this will be a nice snack I think
HALOUMI GANG ASSEMBLE!!!
I like haloumi with honey and I cut it in small rectangles
oooh that sounds good!! I was actually thinking watching this video, this would make a really good 'toast' base and will need to experiment to see what would go well on top!
That sounds delish
Got some halloumi in the fridge. Going to fry some now 👍🏼😊. Thanks for the tips 😁
I just bought two packages of this, and will try it for the first time tomorrow night. I am pretty sure I will love it.
You will it’s amazing !!
How was it??
@@louise3125 Good! The brand I got was a little bland, but tasted pretty good with a little salt added. 👍
Thanks for this ❤. I'm making a recipe and have never cooked this before. Your video is very helpful.
One of my local restaurants grills a cheese that looks like this, but I don't think it's super salty. And then they actually drizzle some syrup or honey that is also not overly sweet. Sounds crazy but it's freaking delicious. I'll have to find out what they use.
Here in the US we lightly dredge it in flour first then fry it
And Lemon is a must
Yes that is also something I do also - take a look at my video making Haloumi fries

Lovely with a fava or greek salad
Looks delicious! 😍💓
Looks delicious!
Thank you, this recipe works for Nabusli Cheese aka Arabic Salty Cheese.
Yum yum! Thanks for the video. 😊
Grilled cheeze NO BREAD awesome:)
I like to have it with a red wine, one tiny bite, one sip of red wine
Just a tiny sprinkle of oregano while it’s frying too is excellent 👌
woah... it looks marvelous
Excellent cooking video!
Glad you enjoyed
love - gonna try with lemon tonight
I use the same pan too! Love my Scan pans from Denmark!
Looks yummy! Thank you for sharing the video
I could at each day and never get tired of it. You are lucky having gas ,. My cooker is electric and it really is not such efficient as gas,In summer I cook on the balcony on a portable gas burner .👍
If my wife had her way I would never fry indoors :(
With grilled pita bread and coffee for breakfast.
excellent easy video.
One thing I tried is just adding a tiny bit of water instead of oil. The texture is identical.
Nice one mate 👍👍👍👍👍
I need this in my life
You need this in your stomach!
Thank you for this. 👍😊
Super useful! I just gotta cook it like a steak got it
Looks delicious
Awesome! Im gonna make some now.
Would harissa work on it (as a flavor booster)? Thanks for your help.
Very nicely done ✌
I keep looking at this product at the store is the same when you have two the same packaging grilled cheese like that kind of weird but it looks good though sorta
This video was very helpful thank you 😊
yum. looks like Dominican frying cheese (queso de freir)
my fave 💞
I like to put some liquid chili (mix chili and oil)and lemon of course 😋😍
Thank you!
Brilliant. Thank you
Thanks Mark
I love how you pronounce hulloumi
Thats a MASSIVE block of Haloumi
In the UK we pay about £3.50, for just 250g
That looks to be, about a Kilo (1,000g) in weight, and would be about £14.00 to buy
Thanks for the video though!
It’s not much cheaper in Australia - it’s about $25+ for that block.
@@VideoSnooper - Thats interesting - Thanks for that . . . . . . you're probably enduring this crazy 'Cost-of-Living' crisis we are!
Looks fantastic.
Cheapy 2006 like your teeth
@@jasongriffiths8438 lmao
Really salty! At least the one I just purchased. I have had it before!
Haloumi is the best cheese.
Add mint leaves in top. So tasty 😋
Love it ❤❤❤
cheers min
Nice. Always thought they added brandy.
You forgot to say whether or not to pat the slices of cheese dry before frying, and to first put oil in the pan before frying (some frying cheeses do not require any oil). If the slices aren't patted dry before they hit the hot oil, you're going to have some serious possible splatter burns.
First time having Halloumi! We wouldn't of had it had it not been for Chef's Plate meal delivery service.
Let me know what you think of the taste
this guy reminds me of the agent character at the new zeland diplomat office in flight of the concorda
Send me a link
If the next side browns faster I bet its because you cooked it straight from the fridge? Leave it out for a bit and should only take 2 min max each side
Good tip!! That makes sense.
Who else has just recently discovered this from Nando’s 😭
I lay my addiction to this seductive cheese at Cyprus' "feet"--it's like Proust's madelines. Breakfast on Nicosia mornings...alimono!
nice
Thank you 😁😁😁
Great video!!
I don’t need to put oil to cook it right?
You can cook it without oil however it might stick. I always use a splash of oil
Thankyou for sharing. Did you use olive oil?
Yes I used Olive Oil - however you can use light olive oil for frying compared to extra virgin - extra virgin is better to use for salads etc when you are going to eat it uncooked. Or when you are using smaller amounts. Extra virgin can be used for frying also.
هي جبنة بيضا ناشفة هي جبنة حلوم؟؟
Thank you so much! :D
My grilling cheese always melts idk what I’m doing wrong.
Just make sure its Haloumi - maybe increase temp slightly, turn over quicker. I tent to flip them over a couple of times to ensure they cook evenly.
