Sublime video, fantastic narration, good balance. Simply tremendous. Much appreciated, watching young Tiger gave me goosebumps.
This is a masterpiece. Been watching it for years. Never gets old. There will never be another player like young Tiger. Impossible for anyone to duplicate.
We were lucky enough to stay in St Andrews last summer and play the Old Course with a member. Incredible and beautiful place. Never felt like that standing on the 1st tee, nervous as hell, and went on to top it straight down the middle about 160yds. Settled down but sunburned on the front 9, and sideways rain from about the 14th. We were then lucky enough to have lunch in the members bar afterwards, overlooking approaches to 18. A great experience which keeps me coming back to search for videos like this, thanks.
I just loved watching this vedio over and over. I m just fascinated seeing Mr Tiger's Woods brilliant performance. Alhamdulilah Aamin ❤❤❤😮😮😮
I still play that music in my head. It mesmerized me for two decades. That Woods guy is pretty good.
Bruh that dude at 19:55 who turns around toward Tiger with the creepy music was ominous and good editing. It was beautiful
kamarin mann lol, it was!
Ha ha what alot of shite
Just keep hitting it. Talking about creepy! Haha
Yeah whats with the dr who creepy music lol

Tiger would hit the ball so hard that sometimes it would make a really loud sound and at 24:42 the little girl felt the awesomeness of Tiger’s swing
David Duval still fascinates me. During Tiger’s peak, he was the only guy that beat him somewhat regularly. Then he won a major and said it was nowhere near as cool as he expected it to be, and dropped off the face of the Earth. You don’t see that everyday
The last time I heard about Duval was in the 2019 Open at Portrush where he made a 15 on a par 4.
Bad back and yips
He beat him a few times not regularly.
Duvall has vertigo as well that also can mess with a athletes skills & most of all their mind.
We could also compare David Coulthard to Michael Schumacher back in the 2000s … lol
If you play golf , you can certainly realize how difficult his play was and how great a player Tiger was from 1997 until 2008
Jack won the US Am in 1959 and professional majors in each of the next
three decades, capped of with the his 18th Major, the 86 Masters at age 46.
There was no better time to be a golfer than from 1997 to 2005. The things Tiger was doing were....superhuman. Poeple who don't play golf will never understand the magnitude of what he did. It wasn't that people thought that he _might_ be a deity...there were people who thought he was actually _God._ Yeah, like there were people who really believed that.
I always laugh when I see people trying to say "But Jack Nicklaus..."
He won more, yeah. He never dominated the game like Tiger did, or transform the sport.
Thank you.
Those who don't believe that should talk to people who played with him.
Or they could watch "Tigers Six Peat."
@@michaelneil5946tiger won more than Jack - 82 wins to 73 wins
Winning a major like this on a links course by 8 strokes is just insane.
Iconic course and Mr. David Arliss. The music is so perfectly fitting for such an event. "He was merely stalking the field" might be the best way to describe golf's G.O.A.T., Tiger 🐯 Woods, during the 129th Open.
Tiger will always be THE MAN
I remember that perfection. Day after day, people waited for him to blink, but he never did. What a great feeling it must have been for him to know he could carry any and all of those diabolical bunkers, and 2-putt for birdie.
There’s just enough of the ‘British-accented National Geographic narrator’ to give this video an added layer of entertainment. “But the lioness is spotted in her stalk, and the gazelle flee.” 😂😂😂
The presentation is excellent but what surprised me was how good the music is, like a soundtrack to a movie.
IIRC, he also stayed out of all bunkers that tournament. He was surgical that weekend. Just unreal.
Brilliant, simply brilliant! Great look back, the history of St. Andrews, the players (Tiger of course), the commentator and the pageantry of it all, well done.⛳
What really makes this video ...Is the awesome awesome giorgio moroder / style 80s music. God damn did that add to the drama in this video. Major thumbs up to the man behind that idea.
The stretch of video starting from 26:32 is perfect example. Between the commentary and the sounds. They even synchronized the sound effects to the impact of his shots at 27:24

Brilliant film capturing everything about that year's tournament and the history of St Andrews and champions.
5:50 in the commentator; “at the turn the Tiger pounced”. Just awesome.
I’ve been there, I’ve played 1987 (twice) only one other course has made me so excited (Pebble Beach)
I’ve got several photos of Tiger practising on 18 in 2005. He won then too.
Great job by the Royal & Ancient to put this up! The music is PERFECT, watching Tiger Woods play felt like watching a conqueror, like watching Napoleon or someone! Epic video
Fantastic production from Transworld International documenting Tiger Woods win at the Royal and Ancient home of golf, laying the golf worlds much lauded greats low (I’m a big Seve fan) great commentary from Martin Jarvis too, this win will long be remembered.
Great job by the Royal & Ancient to put this up! The music is PERFECT, watching Tiger Woods play felt like watching a conqueror, like watching Napoleon or someone! Epic video

Tiger is still the man no matter what in my book he tamed Saint Andrews and Liver Pool
That cut of Seve at 2:47 is clean
I love one of the beginning shots of this video. Shows a man hitting shots off the sand on a beach at St Andrews. It reminds me of when I used to go surfing and would bring my Sand Wedge with me. I would get out of the water a bit earlier then my buddies and practice my sand shots on the beach while they still surfed. If one of them got within range of my sand wedge (up to 100 yards) I would take some shots at them seeing how close I could get and more times then not, the shots would be within 10 feet or so of them. One of the reasons I still feel pretty comfortable playing out of the sand, or at least as comfortable as one can get with a sand shot! Ahhhh, The Good Ole days!!! LOL Cheers!! ;)
This proves that getting in contention to win a Major is one thing, but you're better off being in 2nd to last group rather than having to go head to head directly with Tiger in last group, the extra crowds, the media frenzy following you around every hole! His psychological strength, focus, and aura! Even if I was level, I'd rather have been a shot behind Tiger in the group previous group! 😳🤣
Duval gave it a valiant run that first 9 holes on Sunday head to head with Tiger, before faltering while Tiger turned on the jets.
Side note, I always found it interesting that the final round of the 2010 Open, also at St Andrew’s, where Paul Casey was chasing Louis Oosthuizen, played out as almost a carbon-copy of the better-known Woods-Duval encounter in 2000.
Fire me as a golf fanatic this win by Tiger was his greatest victory and one of the greatest wins ever. This tournament was so special.
and this video is spectacular.
“... he would enjoy his lunch that day” 😂
The greatest golfer ever to have walked the walk on the greatest greens throughout the planet ....
@@dtgps yes but the field of golfers back then were no where as big as today also the quality of golfers today far outweighs the quality of yesteryear .
@@essexman1957 So how do you weigh the quality of today vs 1960-1980's?
Major wins! Grand Slams? You must equate quality of golfer to the technology of the ball
that goes straighter and much longer? Maybe clubs that are "jacked up" ?
Give todays golfers a balata covered all in the wind and their scores will soar.
@@dtgps Face it, if prime Tiger played Nicklaus he would win every time...
@@jensclarberg6419 Agree in his prime, Nicklaus would win every time.
@@dtgps lol delusional
The two things that stand out to me about St. Andrews--the greens aren't cut to show up as clearly as on other courses, and my _goodness,_ those bunkers aren't playing. They're as tough to escape as they are intimidating...normal bunkers are just sand pits, but these bunkers have WALLS. And how does anyone even get the ball out of that Road Hole?
Edit: Oh, you bounce it off the walls. Thanks for the demonstration, Mr. Duval!
2022 open at St.Andrews..#16 Go Tiger!!
Duval was in the mix in every big tournament from 1998-2001.
what a performance from Tiger, thanks for sharing this!
Yeah.. Tiger Woods My Favorit 👍
Greatest tournament ever played. Hands down. I consider myself priviledged to even have born witness to it.
This will always be my favourite tiger win the level he dominated the field was jaw dropping and of course he did it at the home of golf and it was the new millennium just history to add to the hallowed halls of St Andrews this win is one of the main reasons the open is my favourite major
This is #2 for me..
# 1 is 2019
@@MarkSmith-lz5rk Fair enough I literally missed out on viewing the house that I am living in Now just to watch Tiger Woods win the masters in 2019. That was the day the haters got silenced. He may not be in his prime but dude still got game plenty of it as a matter of fact.Yeah if anyone hits on him just how many majors does he have at this point. Does he like one hour time Jack or is he tied with Jack now they just done majors the dude got bragging rights for life then you add all the other regular season tournaments to that and wow all I can say then and now
I'm not sure what was more impressive....His win at St. Andrews in 2000, or his win at Pebble in 2000. The fact that they were back to back is just mind blowing. I know one should never say never but I'll go out on a limb and say that there will NEVER be another performance like it.
Purest swing all time
One more win in St. Andrews, Tiger!
Tiger's bunker guy got the shaft! 🐯 ⛳
there will never be another one like him. ever.
THE BEST GOLFEUR EVER TIGER WOODS
Dominance just pure dominance
Thank you Tiger
Is it just me or is the narrators voice really soothing
I spent the majority of this video thinking you should've titled this "Oh by the way, Tiger won St. Andrews" as I'd assume most of the people clicking here came to watch Tiger play. I spent most of this fast-forwarding to his next segment as opposed to tourist videos and other lesser players I didn't come to see.
Very well put together. Brilliant video.
Love that caddies got some shine 🤩
You are sensational Tiger on the Golf course
This is another "epic" golf game after Tiger annihilated the field in the 2000 US Open. THE OPEN completes Tiger Woods' 1st grand slam. (Winning all the 4 major tournaments - The Masters, The US Open, The Open, and the PGA)
Tiger was such a class act regarding what he said to Duval..
Going into the 18th hole knowing that you've won the open must be such an amazing feeling
EXCEPTIONAL!
Great content !! Impressively brought together. No timeline neccessary, for this flip will live on forever
The part I miss is when a new Titleist driver was $199 and a scotty cameron putter was only $175. My how Tiger changed things! Now golf is popular and drivers are 400-500 and Scotty's are $350+. I miss those days, but Tiger's swing here is still the best ever. PURE!
Tiger is probably why they are so much.
Fwiw 200$ in 2k is 321$ now
In my area I still get titleist for about 100 Scotty's for about $50. You seem to be getting ripped of man
@@IsraelistheJewsland you get Scotty’s for 50$?
Hard to believe. If so, ill cover it and shipping for you to send me one
People forget that David Duval was one helluva golfer. Too bad his back got him too.
Tiger is the greatest athlete ever.
What a performance! 2000 was a great year for Tiger!
My great season were 00 06 07 08
It was his Best Year! No one could beat Tiger that year!
@@CCROGGY Pebble in 2000 was the most complete 4 days of his life!
The best single season of a golfer ever
@@GlorifiedDonkey pebble is perfect golf...you'll never see a better performance than that...he basically laughed at that course like it was a local muni
Jack and Tiger were better than their peers. The difference was Tiger was so much better.
JoefromNJ1 which means Jack was better now Tiger is the best golfer I’ve seen I was born in 1985. However Jack played against big time golf legends Palmer, Watson, Floyd, Norman, Player, Trevino, Seve, Jacklin, Irwin, Fuzzy etc
With Tiger he’s played against greats like Vejay, Phil, Ernie Els, David Duval but after that it’s a major nose dive Ye Yang, Rich Beem, Michael Campbell all won majors beating Tiger.
However what have they done since you haven’t heard there name again, where the guys Jack Nicklaus beat & even lost too they stayed around & had multiple major victories.
@@patrickgray5633 None of that really matters lol, regardless of who he was playing against, how he was playing is unparalleled. There was quite literally no part of jacks game that was better than tigers.
@@patrickgray5633 not to mention in jacks era there was an even bigger drop off in talent after the greats of that era. Golf become way more competitive over time,c and Jack has admitted that.
When he was young his swing was just rock solid.
Eldrick..............the music.................pure magic..................
Wow that swing
Joakim Fredriksson I know
Loved the music/ sound - perfect for a hunter - and Tiger 🐅 preyed on that course.
Tiger Woods is the greatest of all time, the most winningest golfer ever
It was absolutely awesome watching The 2000 Open. You almost forget just how good Tiger was.
The music is literally so good
29:51 "Bunker? I was in a bunker every day I've been here, but it was on a practice green" may be an all-time Tiger quote.
It's great that we have three active players who have 3/4 major championships all set up for the Grand Slam (Mickelson, McIlroy and Spieth of course), so we can keep watching them go for the completion year in and year out and appreciate just how impossible it is that Tiger did it all before turning 25.

The Goat, and its not close.
Before Tiger, the average age of pro Golfers was over 40. Tiger did the Tiger Slam in his early 20s.
Before Tiger, Golf’s viewership (Live crowd and TV was 40% lower than after Tiger came to the scene.
Tiger was so dominant, they had to redesign golf courses to “Tiger Proof” it so that he wouldn’t run away with the game.
He single handedly 4-5X increased the earnings of Pro Golfers.
THE GOAT 🐐 and its not close.
Woods won the internet connection in the 1990s.
He is the greatest athlete of our generation
Hmm maybe Roger? It’s close
Do you always talk in cliches
The God of golf.
What an epic documentary !
Imagine turning on a buzzsaw and not being able to turn it off for over ten years. That was Tiger woods. 1997 to 2008.
He's still really good. He just has to watch out for his back issues.
@@CharlesUrban true. when i see him tapping his butt cheek with the fist after few hours of play, i'm worried. his back pain is still about 10/20% there. fitness and care will help him longterm. heavy weights and hard driver shots are over. still hit 300 yards with driver.
Michelson wakes up in a sweat every night thinking "turn off the buzz saw".
Cant wait for him to defend at agusta !!,
Tiger has been the best golfer throughout the world. It will take a LOT to beat him.
Tiger's play was beyond brilliant! He rattled the record books and the nerves of quite a few golfers at the mere age of 24. In 2021, he will be inducted into the Golf Hall of Fame. #Pandemic2020
"I want to be the best golfer ever." Just four more majors and you will put that debate to rest.
Terminator music with the terminator of golf. Nice.
crazy how when Nicklaus is leaving tiger just starting :0
Gold River I hope the trend continues, and we get the next great one in the next 5-10 years
Same as at Pebble in 2000. So perfectly poetic.
Right you couldn't have scripted it better
One of the best intros ever
Seems like the music came from Terminator. Tiger basically was the terminator that week.
I played the Old Course in December! I love it!
Duvall needed to be playing Greg Norman if he was going to have a chance, but against Tiger? Woods is the best closer since Nicklaus.
Yep
Sam Snead had some serious club speed for 88. I think he shot some ridiculous round at the Greenbrier at 85, maybe 79.
What is the song that is playing in the background @18 minutes
Tiger is the best I’ve seen & a all time great but I really believe his domination level started to go down when he parted ways with Butch Harmon.
Butch doesn’t get the credit he should the part he played in the year 2000 both he & Tiger came up with that stinger 2 iron off the tee took Tigers game to a level that we haven’t seen since.
"Gizzly Adams did have a beard."
Best moment in this vid: 9:45 When the narrator refers to Lee Travino as a Mexican. Gold!
Love the music
Sam Snead with Jack, Gary....
WOW
4 big ones in a row. That special.
Tiger is the best ever. No doubt.
very good documentary !!!
The bunker raker job could be the best job in the world.
