  • @DamnLucifer
    @DamnLucifer 3 роки тому +451

    Honestly, using socks straight out of the packaging could be worse than using worn, washed socks (of course the best possible option would be using unused socks after washing them) cause stores can be nasty, there were people touching that with hands not too clean. And even if it was clean, clothes straight from the store can have some chemicals still in them that for example flare my allergies. And so if there's something my skin can't handle in clothes straight from the store (like formaldehyde), there's no way it's be good for consumption

    Fun fact: my family is from Puerto Rico (Hormigueros area around Mayagüez/San German) and brewing coffee in cotton socks is an old jibaro (country) tradition. Like you said, it's stronger coffee than a pour over with a lighter body than a french press. It's actually fantastic when you get it down correctly.

    So, coffee painting is an actual thing. It is a real medium, comparable to watercolor or india ink painting. I did it a lot in high school and absolutely fell in love with it. Generally I just used a very high concentration of instant coffee to water, and then further diluted as needed directly with the brush on the pallet. By the end, the coffee leaves a very nice sheen on the paper as it dries, and you get some beautiful dimension out of it depending on your concentration. The hues are generally pretty warm, but also very moody. I made a painting inspired by Hamlet out of coffee once and gave it to my English teacher, and I really loved how it turned out.

    The ice cube coffee is a favorite drink of mine from UCC called Kori Kohi. I regularly make it at home with cold brew ice cubes. I recommend using warm milk so that the coffee cubes melt faster and you get more coffee in the drink.

    I think your coffee self portrait should be your new channel icon 😂 this was great- similar to others in the comment I knew immediately that it was going to be pudding rather than jello but that just made for a good sense of expectation through the video lmaooo - also, sock coffee is a thing done by people in the military sometimes! not good coffee, but if it’s all you have i guess lol

    The sock thing does work, but in essence you can do it with cotton cloth. Back home in Puerto Rico we sometimes brew coffee that way, not with actual socks though. Its essentially just a cloth filter. It works and it makes coffee fast. However cleaning it is a pain.

    MorganDrinksCoffee, How to Cook that, and Epic Gardening are all channels I subscribe to that have done responses to 5 minute crafts. If 5 minutes is good for anything it's facilitating content for creators I trust like Morgan. ☕
