Does this show the front facing camera? its an option for the Rubicon for 2021
Love it. Should cost 1200 max. 3K is for owners of mall crawlers or Aspen types. Even hard core overlanders would likely pass on this.
Dam that is definitely a nice setup! It’d be something I’d like but tires or upgrading my jeeps axles make more sense.
Its a nice unit , but not 3K nice!
Also the world is going USB C - Why did they get rid of that to install and silly HDMI port? Who was the focus group for this? Wait for v2. Lower price, add back USB C and beef up over road maps, powered by Gaia or Garmin?
Exactly...
@@MaxximumRage adding the hdmi port can't hurt. I agree killn' the. usb c was odd
I’m not seeing the upside of trading the factory screen for this one especially if the cost is $3k.
no streaming for the family no netflix ect
As soon as this price comes down, I'm all over it. That price....yikes!!!!
Would definitely spend that $ FIRST on a nice lift, maybe a locker upgrade and so much more.
This is worth 1500 TOPS!!!!!!
Yep 1500 all day, but 3k is bananas !
The stinger height 10 is $1500 and does all this plus its 10" . 3k for alpine wtf. Lift, re-gear, wheels and tires first this is last on my list.
That stinger is hella nice. And definitely way cheaper.
Bamm!!!! Knocked it out the park again!!! Great overview Rob, I have to get me one of these.
Just had mine installed yesterday. I LOVE IT!!!
What model Wrangler do you have ?

Just finished installing this unit myself in my 2021 gladiator and here are my pros/cons:
CONS
- The install video makes the wiring management look very simple, but really the spaces are VERY tight and quite hard to successfully fish wires to the steering column (all while cutting up my fingers from the metal frames). This will take some skill to manage all of the "rat nests" and make it neat.
- Going from a stock 7in to this 9in alpine made my backup camera picture quality go down. It's just a tad more blurry but it's still good in my opinion. I also lost my hitch zooming option on my backup camera that was exclusive to Jeep's trailer tow package
- My on-screen display setting that shows the model of the vehicle (doors being open, etc) is literally a car diagram, not a jeep. Plus I have a gladiator so it's even extra weird for me looking at a car instead.
PROS
-Literally everything else! All of the audio, navigation, climate controls, etc are absolutely amazing compared to the 7in stock radio.
Its gorgeous...
Will this fix issues I’ve been having with the factory radio of audio cutting in and out when it is cold outside?
Out of curiosity, how does it reflect from the back window at night? Usually when I look at the rear view mirror the stock screen reflects from the back window to the rear view mirror. It's not really bad, but with a bigger screen, will it be more obvious than normal?
Does it matter which head unit it's replacing, or do you need to start with the 8.4"?
Whats Alpine would be best for the JK?
I have a 2019 JLU. No power windows or locks. Would this still be worth it. Can I still use most of the features?
So, is this for a fully loaded Rubicon? What if I get lets say a Sort S Gladiator? Will all of these features be available since the truck is rather plain?
Having the non navigation/smaller head unit, this would be the solution but the price point is outrageous.
The best feature of my JL is the integrated wifi hotspot that works everywhere even where my phone has no signal. Would I be able to use that with the alpine? And why is it not compatible with the jeep premium alpine sound system? I don’t get it. I would change it because my factory infotainment very frequently gets frozen when using CarPlay and I have to go out and take a fuse out to reset it.
odd says on the web page it's not compatible. w/the alpine factory unit vary narrow upgrade path dunno why limit it.
i have a question my gladiator have front camera what will this screen do to fix that ?
Looks great, but the lag is horrible. Are they planning to do anything about it? Any upgrades for 2023 Wrangler?
Screen off still work ?
Got to have one
How do I access videos from UA-cam using the HDMI/Iphone cable?
Question about the onboard navigation. Does it show traffic conditions and other warnings. Or, for that info, would I have to plug in the Android phone and rely on Maps or Waze? Thanks.
Ok how do I now get it to wash my front camera?
And why did it go from a 4K ultra clear camera system to a blurry camera?
This is in my 2020 Gladiator Mojave
Cannot get apple car play how do i do it
is the screen led ?
$3K for a 9"screen upgrade w swipe function?! LOL nooooo
Agreed, the jk3001 brings Android to the table. This seems limited and antiquated after having being able to install UA-cam and any apps I want on my console...
Will you loose the built in hotspot, since I use that almost everyday,
is this compatible with a jeep JL pretty bone stock sport.?
Its ok. But there are alot of things I would like to see if I'm paying 3k for that. I just don't see how it worth that.
it is support youtube app ?
i heard this makes the backup camera fuzzy
All this and not wireless CarPlay capable? Maybe the x410
Well it works with the 5 inch truck
Of course
You know you can put a Samsung Galaxy tab S7 in there for $600 like I did.
I did it on a Jk and the measurements show it can be done on a JL. $ 3000 for something you can do on your phone.
I definitely shouldn’t have to be trying to decide for the price point between axle upgrades and a damn radio, nice though
I looked into this for my 2019 Sport, and it appears this unit will not fit due to needing more depth in the console than the 2019 provides. Apparently the 2018 had a bit more depth for this unit to fit. Would anyone be able to able to confirm this information?
This is 1 of 3 radios that fit a 2019
I wonder how about the front camera?
I believe this supports multiple cameras
When will they learn to ditch the gloss plastic? Had it on my X209 and it scratched just by looking at it. Looks like this is no better. Also that maestro module is from hell. Never had something so buggy. Hard pass from previous experiences.
Can you do a comparison video of this to the JL 3001?
For this being $1,750 more than the JL 3001 I see no benefit in purchasing this one.
is it me or does your audio needs to be fixed? my speakers are set at 100
Almost 💩 myself when i seen the price
Plug and play huh??
Wow, a whole .6 inches larger than the factory 8.4 inch screen
$3,000 Alpine must think that Jeep owners are stupid!
There Needs to be $1500 version. 3k is just too much
The head unit is $1500 and Alpine charges an extra $1500 for the shiney silver paint on the bezel 😆
Why can't I click my setup setting ? It isn't highlighted like the other settings
To access the setup menu on any Alpine unit, you need to set the parking brake. To get it to show up, pull the parking brake up, release it and drop it all the way down, then pull it up and set it one more time, then you can access the settings.
@@Quadratec it worked thank you.
Great to hear! That one stumped me for a couple days too.
@@Quadratec i now this unit can stream videos cause it says it can in the advertisement but I'm having a hard time doing so do you know how to do that ?
Ya...I don't think it looks "like it came from the factory", looks like something a teenager would throw onto a Honda Civic. Not saying thats exactly a bad thing, but they should also offer one that better matches the interior. I do kinda like the OS and the things it can do, but I think I'll stick with trying to upgrade to an 8.4 uConnect, if I even bother over the 7". Was rather disappointed mine didn't come with an 8.4.
Sweet but for 3k rather go with banks Guage and get performance too...
Too expensive🤨🤨
Very nice...but $3K???? GTFUOH
I'm 9 minutes into the video and cant help but to notice how hard he is trying to avoid what factory Uconnect options you lose, namely offroad pages and any other apps that may be released in the future.
I really want to get rid of UConnect! It taking over 30 seconds to get the instructions sent to my Jeep is ridiculous. Plus, UConnect is going to be the number one way people will hack into and steal the Jeep, despite the security fix they did several years ago.
Still can’t believe this thing is $3,000. Why would anyone buy this?
Really nice unit but way to much $$$$ lower the price Alpine there is a lot of jeeps on the rd that would buy! think you sell a hell lot of units plus accessories for this unit is expensive think i pass 1200 k or 1500 k sounds better...
3K?!! Are they crazy? Hard pass...
just shit my paints 3000 ha ya right like the average joe is going to buy this
It has a 9-inch WVGA High-Visibility Display... That's a screen resolution of (480×800). In my opinion, that is absolutely shit.... I'll stick with my Note 20 ultra on my dash playing music from my UA-cam playlist or other apps Via Bluetooth. looks like a badass system but I cannot fathom spending $3k on it either...
Damn that's expensive
That price is a joke
Very lagy unit. Over 3000 and this lagy? Junk
Vehicle navigation is dangerous and obsolete; its better to navigate with your cell phone next to your face
I have a 5" screen on my 2021 Wrangler Willys Sport (Ecodiesel). Can I upgrade mine with this?
