Such a good installation video by Eric and the people over at Stinger Off-Road. Easy to follow along detailed instructions and didn't skip over any of the "easier" parts like even how to remove the glove box. Love everything this radio unit has to offer and its expandability.

I used this video as the main source for my install on a 2019 JL. Great video. There were a couple things i had to go back and zoom in on that I will point out. First is Apple CarPlay. The video mentions using the USB from the center console going into the lower port. I had the unit upside down when doing this so they were reversed. CarPlay will not work in this situation so be sure and double check these if you are have trouble getting CarPlay to activate. Also the labels on my RCAs was a little different so i had to guess at those. All in all it was pretty simple. I am new to the Jeep world and have never really taken one apart. With that said it took me around 4 hours total. Hardest part is definitely squeezing everything into the dash.

You make it look easy. ;) I ended up going with factory upgrade (for now), because support could not confirm if any of the WiFi CarPlay adapters would work with Stinger's. But your video was informative and helpful nonetheless. If I want to add numerous cameras or some of the other neat features like the pitch and roll overlay, I may still upgrade in the future.
Great video... Not extremely rushed like another video that I saw earlier... But looking at all that wiring bunched up and you trying to get it squeezed back in there, the phrase "a hundred pounds of shit in a 50 pound bag" came to mind.... Wow... What a cluster-fuck of wiring... At least you don't have to basically hang inverted while working under the panel like I do when I'm working on my plane...

I have this reciever in my 2016 Tacoma. One thing I noticed between the Tacoma and Jeeps the Jeep Stinger unit has a lot more vehicle features than the Tacoma's do.In fact I lost the settings for door locks, Backup sensor settings and Navigation turn by feature on the cluster near the steering wheel.When I installed this unit.

How do I toggle through audio sources while in nav mode without leaving the map? Huge loss from the factory nav...
Please release an update to adjust illumination of the screen and the contrast. The screen is whitewashed because of lack of contrast. I just purchased and installed one at Jeep Beach.
Great video!!! The only thing I wish we could do is easily detach the face of the unit to be able to store or take with you to keep it from being stolen.

The instructions state the pins on the Camera Retention module should be in the “up” position. What about the pins on the CH4A-JW18?
Hi Juan, The dip switches on both modules should be in the "up" position.
I was really excited to install this head unit, but as it turns out, if you already have an aftermarket sub installed, there’s a lot more work to be done. I wish I would have known this as it’s not as easy as it’s shown in this video…

Any tips on how to wire added cameras to this? Would especially be interested in how to add cameras to the side mirrors for blind spot monitoring. Not sure how to get the wire from outside the mirror into inside of the car behind the dash. Thanks!

the adapter kit i got has black plastic pinout retainers on the back of the connectors that make it difficult to seat the connections properly

Did I need to purchase the SD card in order to get the on board navigation to work? I use CarPlay typically but just want a backup when service is down. Right now it is not functioning.

On install; do I have to use the aftermarket GPS antenna or can I use the factory GPS antenna?

You will need to install the GPS antenna that comes with the Heigh10.
Do you have to install the microphone? Or will the built in microphone work for call/voice commands?
You can use either mic, the internal or external, they will both support all the functions of the HEIGH10.
Two questions,
If I wanted to use the hdmi input for something else other than the hd camera retention module could I just plug the factor backup camera into the same input as the additional cameras? Aka is there a way to keep the hdmi input open for something like a chromecast?
And second, is the external mic and chime module required? Does the unit had a built in mic? Why do I need a chime module? Will the factory chimes no longer work?

You do need the camera module to keep the factory camera working, however, it allows you plug another HDMI device into the module. The HEIGH10 has both an internal and external microphone, you just need to select which option you would like to use in the Settings menu. The chime speaker is provided to keep your chimes audible, we recommend installing the chime speaker.
In the vehicle information section it displays an image of a 4 door jeep. Can I change it to display a 2 door?
Currently the only option is the 4 door Jeep but we will be adding the 2 door option in a future firmware update, as it has been requested frequently.

There has been lots of interest in a waterproof version. It is something to be considered on a future model but nothing that will be out soon.
Which wires did you disconnect to plug in the can bus wires?
There are 2 Star Link connectors that get connected behind the glovebox for the CAN connections.
Does this model also work with the Gladiator Sport? For example, I have no power seats or windows. I thinks its the very base model. If this would work, I would love to order from you.

You can install this even in the very base model. You will still get the gauges, you just won't have control for features your Jeep isn't equipped with.
What if you want to hook up an amp? Are there plus for the rca inputs?
Yes, the HEIGH10 has front, rear, and subwoofer RCA outputs for connecting aftermarket amplifiers.

You will need the SiriusXM SXV300V1 tuner.

I hooked up my phone via HDMI. The screen mirroring resolution is very low and almost unviewable. Is there a way to increase the resolution? I dont have this issue with tvs or monitors..
This feature is device dependent. Check the settings on your phone to make sure it is out putting at a high enough resolution.
How long is total install?
Does the 12-pin harness connector for amplified/non amplified connection into brain, have to be moved if I install an aftermarket amp later on?
That port only applies to the factory amplifier. It will not be in play hen adding an aftermarket amplifier.

Yes, Henry we have the reverse trigger to the unit so it will automatically switch to the camera in reverse.
Will adding this unit still retain the uconnect system?
The Uconnect system is not retained with this system.
I have a 4XE, would this system retain it's functions as well?
Unfortunately the kit is not available for a 4XE
There is no mention of the front USB's. Do they still work with this radio?
The front USB ports will still work for charging or playing media files from a USB stick. You would need to use the one in the console for CarPlay or Android Auto.
Any information if this will work on the 4XE?
At this time the 4xe is the one Jeep we are not compatible with. It is a different platform than the non-hybrid JL Wrangler. At this time we have no time frame on when of if we will be compatible.
Being that these are shown everywhere in a Jeep, my curiosity is for wanting to know it is is weather resistant? Dust or rain proof? Can't fathom paying upwards of 1500-2000 and then it craps out because my jeep soft top was open and a brief shower fries the head unit
The HEIGH10 radio is not waterproof or weather resistant. That is what is at the heart of all our 10" radio packages, not just the Jeep kits. So while it would be great for the Jeep applications, it is not as much or a want or need for the other universal applications the radio is used in. The HEIGH10 should be protected from moisture and the elements like other aftermarket radios.

Our kit fits in all trims of the JL Wrangler and JT Gladiator.
Is the Heigh10 compatible with the Alpine PSS-24WRA speaker and subwoofer system for the JT? thanks
We have not tested that specific speaker kit here, however if you follow Alpine's instructions on wiring it up to their Restyle radio, it should install in line in a similar fashion
On the back of the brain "Amplified" and "non-amplified", what if I am installing an amplifier and a subwoofer on my own. Will I have to pull it out and plug it into the Amplified slot?
Edited: the Jeep is Factory 5-inch screen with no Alpine system
That connection only applies to the factory amplified system. It will not play a part in adding aftermarket equipment.
Does the Navi SD card have off road trails? If not is there and optional SD card for this?
The Navigation card does not include off road trails. Currently we do not have a specific off road SD card available.
When in navigation mode and I toggle through the audio sources, it kicks me out of navigation mode, requiring me to go to audio source first, then toggle back to nav. Is there a setting to stay on the map while toggling through audio sources? If not, please fix this with a future firmware update as this can cause a hazzard while driving.

Hello Coal, the USB in the console will be the one you use to plug into for Android Auto/Carplay. You do need to plug in for these applications, there isn't a wireless option with the Heigh10. The USBs under the climate controls will still have charging capabilities but no connection to the Heigh10.

When plugging in the OEM Aux RCAs what RCAs do they go into?
The set labelled "AUX In" on the 24 pin harness with all the audio RCA connections.
I'm glad you asked this. I'm in the middle of the install and got here and thought "damn, there's a lot of red and white plugs on this harness"
I notice the factory compass no longer works. Is there a setting to fix this?
The factory compass in the cluster is not retained with the RB10JW18 kit. You will find a list of the few features not retained by the kit on Page 1 of the Installation Guide, under "Important Notes". We provide a compass on the Heigh10 under "Vehicle Info".
Not only is that not retained, but if you have the aux lighting switches, you will lose the ability to change their function.

You are able to change the unit to the metric system.

Yes, this will work in all factory audio trims of a 2020 Gladiator.
Approximately how long does this install take start to finish? My installer quoted me 6 to 8 hours. This sounds a bit excessive...
Installation times will vary depending on the comfort and experience level of the installer, so it's tough to estimate time for others. With that being said, we engineered this kit with the goal of making it easy to install. The harnesses are plug and play and we have this step-by-step video along with a detailed installation guide included with the kit.

Can I pair a Bluetooth front camera?
The unit only has Bluetooth for the phone pairing. We don't have a Bluetooth camera you would have to run a wired camera to the front camera input.

The HEIGH10 radio doesn't offer wireless carplay, only wired connections.
