Thanks to Hugo I have discovered Caulaincourt about two years ago and I have about 5 pairs now 😇 I remember the great Video Alexis made about the Bronx loafers and the comfort level was really extraordinary. Hopefully Alexis will start his videos again to describe shoe models and the idea behind them 🤞

Crown Northhampton also resole their sneekers. They do not have the french flair, they are a bit more reserved being an english shoe but incredible quality shoes, and a lifetime sneeker.
I’ve ordered sneakers there - they came with stains, stitching was done poorly and white lacta hevea soles are incredibly hard to clean. I wore them few times and they looked terrible. I wrote to their customer service after receiving shoes and said that it’s done badly with photos, but they offered a discount for next pair. ha-ha, no thanks.
I love that good quality sneakers are coming back. A very interesting item.

Wonderful episode - as always! As Hugo might say… “bad for the wallet!” One suggestion if I may… for episodes like this with a lot of movement around the table, using lapel mics rather than standing would produce MUCH better and more even audio. Lots of booms, pops, table bangs, variation in volume as the pair move around… as a producer, I must say - lapels make things super simple 👍🏻 Bravo again 🎉

The nice thing for native French speakers speaking in English is, if you aren't sure of the correct word you just take your best guess and if you are wrong you just sound more chic.

As a man who is trying to dress up with my bicycle, those high-quality, resolable sneakers are like music to my ears.
Indeed, that is one of the way to take benefit on them 👍 moreover, they are protecting you from water, and wind. The « cuvette » sole is providing a great protection against rain and water generally speaking

had my attilas since 2018. I LOVE those so much, cout me as one of those person who it "changed" when I wear those shoes, let alone the constant compliments/questions from women/men alike. Not much of a sneakers guy, especially with the white contrasting soles. Very nice craftsmanship nonetheless. I don't think many people will actually resole their sneakers but its nice that the possibility is out there nowadays.
You maybe right, but the idea that it's possible is already extremely pleasing (and makes a lot of sense in our "ready-to-throw-away-everything" world). Cheers, Hugo

Thank you for another episode, I can always appreciate good shoes. Although most of what was featured here is not to my personal taste, I can appreciate the quality and craftsmanship that goes into these creations. I think this is also an astute move given the popularity of sneakers. I do like the Harris Tweed though!

I don't purchase dress shoes much anymore! But I love sneakers very much so. I stop buying athletic sneakers 25 years ago. I've been in love with luxury sneakers for years now. I thought was style, comfort and fashion. It just jive together.

Crown Northampton has been offering a proper dress shoe with traditional shoemaking constructions with a cup rubber outsole and resolable for a while.

Crown Northampton make high end sneakers with: stitched soles that can be resoled and top quality leathers and construction.

I have to say, usually I see a high end leather sneaker and think, "this look doesn't work, just be a sneaker or be a nice shoe," but these I thought looked wonderful. Then I thought, "well, of course, Hugo is showing us some $1000+ French shoes, so no surprise they look good," and then he said the price. Wow. That's not much more than a pair of Asics running shoes.

Can't get Caulaincourt to respond to multiple emails over the last 2 weeks. My email is my name so shouldn't be diverted to spam. I also emailed Dubai store...no response. I know there has been unrest in Paris...is Caulaincourt open?

I am still of the opinion, that sneakers (for men) schould be confined to sports.
I've been like you for many years my friend, but I must admit that the new movement around leather sneakers is quite nice (and may open the doors of the sartorial world to the younger generation). On top of this, it's helping many traditional shoemakers to survive and to keep their craft alive (I know many shoes ateliers who would have closed their doors without it).
