The sneeze and the conspiratorial, hushed confession of wearing Loafers with no socks 😱 ... hilarious!

The Homage paid to the various Shoemaking Houses and individual, extrordinary Artisans ... very respectful.

Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Your passion for the subject is infectious. Over the past year I have adjusted my diet and lost about 25 pounds. I told myself that when I slimmed down I would redo my wardrobe. I'm so happy to have found your channel before making my choices. Your video on which suits to purchase when building a wardrobe of a gentleman is priceless. I'll be taking your advice, for sure. Two points. One, I love the fact that you left the sneeze in the final cut. You are so genuine. I'm sure you might have been tempted to edit it out. I'm glad you didn't. Secondly, next time have your wife come from behind the camera and say ' hello' to us before the videos ends. By the way, I also enjoyed your video with Kirby Allison.

A very interesting list. But again, like the other video about affordable shoes, I was expecting at least one Japanese shoemaker, I was expecting Fukuda Yohei to be on the list since his creations are also pretty daring in my opinion.

SARTORIAL TALKS., great overview. I think drivers belong on the list as well :) Also, this video is an overview of the models. I'd love to see a guide about the shapes of shoes - how squared the tip should be (e.g., on the Bontoni the tip looked a little brutal for me), the bubbles, the slopes, and the silhouettes of the front, etc. The rim - how wide should it be, how aggressive should the stitching be, and so on. In other words, if you're looking at a particular model of a shoe, how do you tell whether the model was implemented correctly (not the quality of construction but the style). Thank you.

I always wonder what is the next shoe topic of your videos because you already cover a lot of shoe topic for the past few years. And wow wow what a clever topic and you pull it off. I pause the video and make a guess which is got it right at Arca Corthay, Decon Norman, Alessandro Berluti, Bonafe Button, JM 180 which is of course you talked about this particular shoes a lot of time in your other video. Besides that, you already touched on watch, why not one day on perfume? Dont you think it is also important to smell nice in order to become a gentlemen? Great video. Love it.

Hi Hugo. Thanks for the reply. Really appreaciate it. My personal choice would add another 2 pair of Edward Green which is split toe derby Dover and Galway boots. It has been copied and copied by almost all the brands in the world.

My button boots can be put on by hand without a buttonhook, however it does take more work than laces. I can put on both shoes in a minute and a half. I'm actually wearing them now!

Interesting list. Spreading the love, I know, but I'm still surprised by the omission of the Edward Green Dover - perhaps the most iconic of all.

I just returned from Morocco with a pair of Bensons. It's a third generation handmade shoe shop in Casablanca. They are very close to the Berluti whole cut and I chose them as an excellent example of the shoemaker's art.

Great episode. Good idea to do something different than video about basic shoes everyone's should have etc. After watching it I feel inspired to spend more time on looking into the variety of shoes that exist, have been created and look for something that will feet more my personality.

I'm not even at my 20s and I already know so much about classic menswear most particularly shoes from Sir Hugo's substantial teaching. It's a bit embarrassing for my old man that his own son manages to be the better and more knowledgeable gentleman.

Fantastic selection! If I could add a 23rd pair as a wild card, it might be the fabulous interpretation of the Belgian Loafer by Baudoin & Lange!
BTW: I loved how you didn't cut out the sneezing. I laughed so hard. This shows how unpretentious you guys are. Much love from Germany! Have a save journey to europe.

Good day! This colour is quite difficult to define. It's grey/blue super170s wool with 5% of silk. The reaction of this fabric under the sun is just breathtaking. Cheers, Hugo
