  • This is our DIY showing how to replace your Crank Pulley on an Audi 3.0T. On a C7, you may not have to use service position to do this job if you have the right tools, but it does make the job a lot easier. If you want to learn how to put your car into service position, look in the links below for our video on it.
    I replaced my 187mm crank pulley with a Velocity AP 205mm oversized crank pulley to achieve a Dual Pulley ratio and finally go dual pulley on my car.
    Let me know what you think of the video in the comments!

    Attention! A note about the drive belt diagrams in this video:
    In this video I show a screen shot of a belt diagram for the drive belt, and it includes routing around a Servo Pump Pulley. That does not exist on this engine. I'm researching to find out if that is a specific option or if that is on another kind of 3.0t car (toureg hybrid, simos16, etc), but it isn't on the CTUB engine. The diagram is correct though if you me remove that servo pump pulley. Nothing else about it is different. If you have questions let me know 👍🏻
    Shout out to @DDP352 for pointing this out!

    I just watched your videos to do my crank pulley but I didn't seen to have as much space as you in service mode. Also the belt diagram you showed is different than mine. But other than some small differences and some skipped steps your video also works on C7 A7 🙌🏾

    • @AudiC7Owners
      @AudiC7Owners  2 роки тому

      The belt diagram should be the same, but in glad the video worked for you!

    • @fortclarke1
      @fortclarke1 2 роки тому +1

      The one you posted to screen shot has a "servo pump" above the a/c compressor and mine didn't have that but when you were showing your laptop with the program that had the correct diagram without the "servo pump"

    • @AudiC7Owners
      @AudiC7Owners  2 роки тому

      Great catch! I didn't even notice that. I will make a pinned comment to address it.
      Now I'm super curious. I wonder if the servo pump pulley is only on certain cars, or if that is a simos16 engine. Time to research haha.

    • @fortclarke1
      @fortclarke1 2 роки тому

      I have no idea haha but the C7 A7 seems allot easier to work on. For instance I only have 1 10mm bolt holding the bumper on the side(with the 1 torx screw) and there was a small torx that was behind your bumper bracket that held the headlight in place mine did not have that. Also I see you don't have the metal lines that run down from the s/c how did you get rid of those?

      The Velocity AP pulley allows me to run a Dual Pulley tune. There are some other differences, but I'm going to make a video covering all the info you need to know about different pullies & ratios.

    I have no experinece working on cars but I would like to replace my own Harmonic Balancer and Tensioner Pulley.
    Would it be too difficult for a novice?
    From your video it seems relatively straightforward. I was quoted $800 in labor to fix both parts. I am trying to gauge whether I can do it myself and save the money or whether its worth paying that much to have it done.
    If you recommend that I could do it, what exact tools would I need?

      @@AudiC7Owners 180mm. It's from CTS. I thought this was the correct upgrade size for stage 2.

    • @AudiC7Owners
      @AudiC7Owners  2 роки тому +1

      If you are also running the cts supercharger pulley (57.3mm) then your key ratio is 3.14. You can run dual pulley with that, but if you want with something larger you'd get a good amount of performance compared to the 180mm. Might try a 190mm pulley for the golden 3.3 ratio. Just make sure you have an upgraded heat exchanger.
