    it took me almost 2 years to find a clean 2000 at a good deal. Honestly I wanted a 98/99 but I had to compromise and get a 2000. I couldn't find a 98/99 that wasn't dogged out. The 00/01 have a aluminum head that is prone to cracking, and a low pinion Dana 30. But I will be doing a motor swap and axles. But the body is clean😄

      Ole Roy I feel you, 99s are my favorite but they there are just a few for sale in a good condition. 👍🏻

      2000/2001 do not have and aluminum hesd. It is a cast iron head. The problem is these 0331 casting heads had poor quality control and are prone to cracking. Especially when there is a problem with over heating as stated in this video.

      The real MVP . One minute intros are annoying . Far too many times have I found another video to not have to filter out the intro to find the information .

    It wasnt the head gasket, it was the head. In late 99, Jeep changed the casting, to the notorious 0331 head. The casting is thin between cylinders 3 and 4, and tend to crack, causing overheating. However, this is easily solved, as heads are cheap, and any head will work on any 4.0 block. Also, you can pull a head in your driveway in just a couple of hours.

    • @davidtrevino5211

      Yes , but will any head work on a 2000 - 2001 ?? Remember they have no distributor.... Are they not slightly different ?

    • @scottdoubleyou563
      @scottdoubleyou563 3 роки тому +1

      @@davidtrevino5211 Yes. The bolt pattern and locations for the intake, exhaust, and head bolts are identical throughout. As for the differences between distributor and coil packs, that's simply wiring, as the dizzy goes on the engine, and the coil pack is plugged into the engine harness. However, the 2000, 2001 heads have lugs cast into them for the 2 bolts that secure the coil pack to the head. But my 98 head is on my 2000 block, with the coilpack, and it's plenty secure with just the boots on the spark plugs.
      Hope this helps.

      The sad part is rotary’s in general even the rx8 aren’t actually that unreliable. It’s just the need VERY extensive maintenance very frequently. That’s what people just don’t know. With premixing, the right oil, frequent oil changes they will stay pretty reliable but nobody knows to premix and didn’t know to change the oil every couple thousand miles so they bought the rx8 back whenever didn’t maintenance it correctly and then it blows up at 50k miles and is labeled “unreliable”

    1997 Jeep Cherokee XJ 2.5TD with a little rust on the doorstep and on the mudguard for 3900€? It's a little bit expensive, or? What is the realistic price for it?

    • @davidtrevino5211
      @davidtrevino5211 4 роки тому +1

      I'd say that's a little high. Unless they've added a good amount of aftermarket parts that you were going to buy yourself eventually.. $2500- $3000 is reasonable..
