I love the fact I CAN CLICK LIKE on your videos as soon as I start watching. Why? Because I already know the video will be AMAZING AS ALWAYS. I just wanted to say Thank you to you and Erin for all the time and effort you guys put into each and EVERY VIDEO! I know she may not ALWAYS be in the videos but there have been MANY times I have seen her haul into campsites to help set them up in advance or even haul into a campsite just so you don't have to do it alone. She seems like an AWESOME partner!
I agree, AND I am a supporter of this channel. But I think also think it's incredible reckless and a poor example to up and comers, to go out in water this cold and at this time of year on Superior specifically. Superior is a killer. Check out the Bill Mason film, and that wasn't even May. He came close. A wetsuit isn't going to save you if the cards are stacked against you. Just saying.....
ML, Superior is a killer year-round though...middle of August. Too many people are reckless about it but I think we need more people showing themselves wearing a PFD, dry suit, staying close to shore, talking about needing a flexible schedule, bringing extra food in case, etc. I remember that Mason scene...could happen to anyone, even him
I think you might live in the prettiest place on earth. Ice coming down the rocks was so beautiful. Loved that green rock. Hope you took it home. Loved ALL the rocks. Thanks
Again, Stunningly beautiful photography and editing. It's been 30+ years since I've done anything similar, you're starting to give me trout fever with all these vids.
Puckaskwa pits. Still enigmas. You covered every purpose I found listed for them. To elaborate the spiritual possibility, some feel they are 'Thunderbird Nests' that would be occupied by First Nations people who were on Vision Quests.
Pictured rocks national lakeshore on the other side of you, right next to Marquette, is a real gem. Beautiful! Love your videos, looks like a great trip.
Love to be with you John on your travels of Lake Superior. Love it when it’s calm and tranquil and I love it in all its fury. It’s just a beautiful lake.
You live the life many people dream of having. But you worked hard to get to where you are and deserve every second you have out there! Enjoy my friend👊👊 Your a true ambassador for the outdoors community here in Ontario! Keep it going

Love Superior!! Although it is smack dab in the middle of two big developed countries it somehow retains it’s wild appearance of being untouched. Wild. Untameable. Beautiful. Can’t wait to go back. Great video Jon. Hope things are going well for Erin and you. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! What a gorgeous place to paddle. If it wasn’t for the freezing temps, that water looks so inviting. It’s amazing how clear it is. Another great vid mate.
Great show. Very adventurous. Looks close to my camp on Nipigon Bay. I dont get to see enough of it here in Timmins. Heading there for fishing trip with my grandson beginning of June.
Shiny Side's gourmet tips! Try coating filets with Italian bread crumbs - cheese, herbs & spices mixed in. Thermos coffee: put a cinnamon stick in at fill-up, great flavour when poured. Do all this on the shores of heaven!
I am looking forward to more of your trips. I enjoy your pausing to appreciate/identify birds, plants, rocks, etc. that other canoe trippers seem to ignore. When you are out there it is all about having a rewarding experience with the natural world. My first spring paddle today. I am too told for big trips, but I always enjoy a quiet paddle on a quiet lake or pond.
Great video and location. Looked like perfect camping weather. I don't blame you for keeping that location quiet. Let people experience their own adventure. Keep up the great work.
Lake Superior is also my favourite lake, having done many kayaking trips over the years. What a lovely place to spend a few days in early spring! It's also very satisfying to not have to rush and take time to explore and enjoy the hidden gems.
Superior really is a beauty of a lake with it's islands and bays Beautiful rocky cliffs and a large amount of history. I appreciate you taking us along again back to Superior . Mmmm the fish looked so tasty have to love trout. Fantasic footage Jon always enjoyed Ontario , Canada
We have those pits (and still make them) around the edges of salt marshes and waterways down here in southwest NS. The stones are the foundation, then you build up a brush wall around it and sit inside it for duck hunting. Seems like they were probably used in a similar fashion.
Jon, Thanks for sharing your beautiful work on videos and the observations you add. You comment on some subtle points that most might gloss over. It really makes me feel closer to actually being there. Look forward to more of what you do.
Thank you for your videos and for your humanity. I love how you humanely dispatch the trout and thank it for the meal it will provide. 'Even thanked the cedar for scenting your hands. Be well and be safe.
Cool! We used to drive the 17 every year when I was a kid, and the lake superior section was always my favorite. Always wanted to go back and do some photography but it's never worked out. I really liked the shots you got of those interesting ice formations.
I have a whole new respect for you!!!! Taking care of that baby tree! That was the kindest, most sincere form of respect I have ever seen!Thank you!!!!!!💖😁🌱
Great video Jon, and spectacular drone footage. Glad to see you back in the canoe and ready for another spring, summer and fall of great Canadian adventures. Enjoy every minute of them my friend, and be safe out there.
Beautiful film but then again, ALL your films are beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the clear lake waters and the thin covering of ice here and there. Very very nice 😃
Thanks for the awesome video! Your photography is absolutely splendid and colours so vivid! Brings back memories of the area. I use to drive out to Pukaskwa National Park with a thermos of coffee and sit on the shoreline and stare out at the beautiful Superior for hours! Also got a charge out of the roar of the waves slapping against the shoreline of Pebble Beach in Marathon. On stormy days I’d hop in the car and drive from my house on Steedman Dr to witness the action and power of Superior👍👍👍

Such a beautiful spot..well, the whole lake is gorgeous, but the colors were so vivid and bright. Was needing a Lost Lakes video for sure, so relaxing.
Seeing that most of the small lakes arround here where I live are thawing now, I itch to get out there and padle too. Last monday I got big news from my son, I'm going to be a grandfather in january if all things goes well. So now I have both a son and a grand kid to look forward to camp with. Life's looking great:))))))
Another nice thing about Superior is it's open before the inland lakes around here :) Congrats man, camping with your kid and grandkid is a great life goal to achieve
This was excellent and gave me a real indication of just how large Superior is, 160 miles from me is Waterford in Ireland! The land and icescapes were awe inspiring, and that's from a guy living on an island. But for me the Pukaskwa pit was the best bit, as someone that spends his free time studying history and ancient (Bronze Age) structures. I have a theory as to what they are, we have something very similar here.

there's that birch you were talking about. 17:50 love you too man - Superior is beautiful, I must now go
Telling everyone about that momentous occasion. That rock is a good hugger...maybe you'll find your own Superior rock to hug soon 😏
Son of a birch or son of a beech. Never mind the ash holes.
