NO ONE even comes close to you, Chi! Thorough, helpful, new information, and fun! I thank you!
You are so welcome!

You have such a creative sense of humor! I love your comedic approach combined with very informative information.
Another great video, thank you!
I always assumed I had a short torso, but I am beginning to realize my body is more balanced than I thought it was. I have a large bust and I think that throws off my perception of the length of my torso because my boobs take up so much of my torso that they take up space where my waist should be. This video had me getting out the tape measure and realizing my body is more balanced than I gave it credit for.
Exactly the same situation for me lol
Same here! I thought I have a short torso but it turns out that I have quite balance torso. Sadly there's not much dressing tips for balaced torso like us
sameee
I have the exact same problem!! It's so hard to dress for a balanced torso when you have a bigger bust but a narrower waist in comparison since you can really have the clothes work for both the torso and the bust. I wish there were more videos on this topic :(
Its so nice to know I’m not the only one. Everyone thinks my torso is shorter and wider than it really is. When in actually it’s average and well proportional.
Your sense of humor is awesome! ❤️
Thank you for this valuable information! 😍 I never even thought of this before! Now I need to watch your styling videos for long torso/short legs! You always have such good ideas, explain/demonstrate everything so well, and find a way to give us some humor in the process! You are the best!! 😁❤️
This was great! 70 years old and first time I heard this type of description… and you are adorable … loved the PG13 moment ! Thank you!
Glad you like it, Donna!
Your sense of humour is awesome, and the information in these videos is immaculate! Thank you so much!
Thank you!
You're amazing Chi. This is great information and I'm not aware of any other UA-cam channel providing such in-depth advice. A comprehensive shape analysis (with a tape measure) by a professional colour and style consultant 20 years ago has been a wonderful investment for me over time. I'm 5'1" hourglass, equal balance torso/leg. Knowing this has made wardrobe shopping so much easier and saved money too.
Thank you, Wendy! So glad you like it!
I really enjoy the humor in your videos, Chi!! I came for the great information but all the humor made my day!!! Thank you for your impeccable work!☺️
I'm so glad Kathleen!
Thanks, Chi! Knowing my measurements and where I want things to "end" has been life changing. It especially makes online shopping much easier. I've always known I had a short torso, but I used your leg measurement test. I'm a 51%. While so much advice talks about balancing, I've decided to embrace it...most of the time. My rear takes up a lot of real estate, so I usually use a third layer to alter my backside view, but love leaving jackets open in the front with some attention at my waist. Or I wear a skirt/dress, where you can't tell what is caboose and what is leg. Your videos are so entertaining!
Not only are your videos informative, they are so entertaining! So glad I found your channel! ❤
I really appreciate that! Thank you so much, Mary! ✨❤️
You are incredible! Love your sense of humor!
You explained this so well. No one else has even come close.
Yeeeey! 💖
I LOVE your sense of humor and your extremely helpful videos. Thank you!
Love your sense of humor & tips as always
Glad you like them!
Chi, you're hilarious! It's great how you share interesting information without making your videos sound academic. Thumbs up from a Uruguayan long torso! 😘
You are the best! Love your sense of humor and you are sooo knowledgeable and detailed! Can not thank you enough!
Thank you, it makes my day to hear that! 🥰
Love this channel its a life saver! Sense of humour, informative and fantastic. Thank you for explaining this I was so confused about it before!!! ❤️
Thank you Bonnie!
Happy Saturday, Chi! This is useful information! Thanks so much!!
Omg you are so amazing and delightful. If you were my professor back in college, I’d never have skipped classes!
I just love your channel, so helpful, so fun to watch
Incredibly accurate and useful. I always knew my waist was higher than standard because my waist is ~two fingers above the crook of my arm. But the objective revelation that my torso/abdomen is longer and legs are shorter than standard, is going to help me make better choices.
Thank you very much for these insights and advice!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, Chi for such detailed information! I am only 4’10” tall and ALWAYS struggle to find the RIGHT length pants. Good thing I can sew, so I am able to FIX the hem on my pants.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks so much for the video. Very helpful as always. I also like the fact that your videos have so much personality. Good advice, and understandably funny sense of humor 👍
I have long legs, short torso, short waist, 5'3 inverted triangle. Thank you so much for the info. Now I can start choosing the right clothes xx
I have the shortest torso in the video cover image. I just realized this, and I was shocked! I'm 5'3 and a half. Now I know I have a short torso with longer legs! Thank you!
Love this video, Chi! So informative and right on. Thank you for sharing your insight on this topic.😊
So glad!
Thank you so much for this extremely thorough video. I now know that I have longer legs and shorter torso even though I'm still close to the average. I always didn't like high rise jeans and preferred mids or sometimes lower (you were spot on).
Your videos are absolutely the best!!! 💟
This is a great video for women of all heights. Thanks for doing this video.
I love ALL your videos. So funny. So full of GREAT info.
Always great tips, I'm 5' 2" petites are too short, regular are too long. Now if I find 31inch just right with 2 " heel. Great tips always.
Fantastic information. I never heard some of this. Confirms why I like high-rise pants and my pants are always too long. I was figuring you were making the pants longer because younger people tend to be taller. I do know I have short legs.
Your videos are absolutely amazing and even though they are for petites even tall girls can benefit from your fashion wisdom. Please please please do a video on sleepwear. I struggle so much with finding pjs that look good and make me feel pretty. Thank you for all you do!
Thank you so much!!
Fantastic information Chi. Thank you for your detailed and well researched information as always. 😊💐
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing! I learn something new every time 😄
This is so true^ once I learned that I has a longer torso and shorter legs, i focused on crop tops, high rise pants, and heels. I look totally different. It really helps to know your own body proportions.
I search this kind of video so long you are the only person that explain this so great. Im 55% leg i dont belive and check over 5 times😂
I have a "rectangle body"! It is almost impossible to find pants or jeans that fit my waist without being too big on my butt. Seeing you try some jeans in a "dad fit" with a midrise has given me hope and some new ideas to think about. Thank you, Chi!
You're always welcome! ❤️❤️
Your videos are exquisite, Chi! The production value and the information is beyond comparison. And, the way you present the information is so easy to understand! (As a once professor I know that making information accessible is a talent).
And, now I know that I have a long torso! Because I have ridiculously large breasts, every stylist that I've worked with has said that I have a short torso. But, my breasts sit really high and I found that my torso is a little over 3 hands long. I've always know that I have terribly short legs, so it makes sense.
Thank you so much!
Agree! Love Chi!! So much good info!!!
Curbside service - hysterical!!!
I just love your channel, the information is great and you are so funny! It took me decades to figure out that only my upper torso is short, with straps always falling off my shoulders, V-necks too low-cut, etc. My lower torso, from waist to leg break, is on the long side, so the pants rise is often too short, but the legs too long (I’m 5’4”). I found the two-hands width test inaccurate, I seem to get a different result depending on which bra I’m wearing and how much I squish my fingers together. I had to use a measuring tape to figure my proportions out. I find it easier to choose clothes now that I understand my shape better.
This is so helpful. Brilliant.
Very interesting! I'm only 150 cm so a lot of the times pants and skirts are long on me because of my short total height but it also always made me think I have short legs, but watching this video and measuring myself I've realized that I have pretty average (maybe a bit on the shorter side) leg ratio (46-47%) :)
You are so funny! And helpful! And I love your style! Win, win, win! Keep the great videos coming 👏🏻👍🏻😁
Hi Chi , this is such an interesting topic . From making YT videos I believe I’m slightly short waisted .
I can see myself in pants and jeans in particular and notice it more easily .
I hope to feel comfy using humour in my future videos , love your style
Xx
Thank you, Michelle! Wish you the best!
Love your videos! Great tips presented with humor! Short torso and long legs.
Glad you like them!
I always thought my legs were short compared to my friends, but it turns out I am more balanced than I thought. Thank you! This helps a lot
Hahaha! Thank you for making another video on this. I was still confused 😕 . This video clarified it a little more.
You're so welcome!
This is really interesting. I have an unusual body shape, which is making it difficult for me to use these tips. I'm tall and slender, so most clothes in my size (xs) are for shorter people, making it seem like I have a long torso. I also have a long neck, which skews a ratio between my top and bottom half.
Finally!
Someone that represents us shorties. Thank you petite dressing. I'm learning so much about my shape. Super fan.
Aweeeeeee! Thank you so much for appreciating ❤️
Thank you for this! Very helpful
Love your humour! I'm not petite (5'10") but I subscribed for the humour and the information. Thanks!
Same but I'm only 5'9" 😊
Thank you! Glad you like it!
Good morning, you are full of such great information. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and enjoy your humor. Always look forward to your videos. Thank you. Have a fabulous day ☀️
Thank you so much!
Another great video Chi! I'm 5'4". I have a long torso and short legs. I need petite bottoms but "regular" tops.
Hooray for long torso team!
This has helped me find out why I can never find knee high boots that fit! Please can you share any knee high boots you've found for petite women with short legs?
Thank you so much for thus video!!! I found it so helpful!! Love your channel!! You are so funny!!
In addition to your excellent advice - you are simply too funny! Delightful!
Thank you so much! ❣️
Wow!!!! Where have you been hiding all my life!!!! Excellent video!!
Thank you so so much! 🤍
I've long legs, long rise but short torso T~T it feels like my waist starts just a few inches below my ribs. At the same time I'm an hourglass so my waist is quite defined and I have kind of obvious hip dips. Body shapes be weird and wonderful lol.
Totally agree. I have the same thing.
Same but there's no "kind of" obvious about my hip dips 😔
@@julieme7927 yeah, hip dips aren't a bad thing as it's literally just bone structure, but at the same time it completely affects how clothes look on you >.
@@jays6633 I don't love them. It makes me feel less hourglassy than my measurements say.
@@julieme7927 I understand, I try to love how I am but my hip dips make me insecure more often than I would like to admit. There are some exercises that we can do to minimise them though, I actually know a girl who had huge hip dips but she got rid of them over about a 6 month time span by doing exercises that build muscle in that area, she's never looked as curvy as she does now.
Chi, you are the best 😊
Good information as useful
Thank you! 😃
man this was funny and informative! thank you!
Oh my gosh. This is riveting. I always thought my sloping shoulders was the reason why spaghetti straps would constantly fall down and all had to be shortened! At 60+ I now know why!
I bike seller once told me that I had long legs (I was baffled - me? But I’m not tall!). He said proportionately. And the size up bike he gave me was just right!
I’m all over the board. Possibly because I am 5’5” with a long torso. Not a true petite, and not a true regular size. But lucky me, the most popular shoe size in America lol. Thank you for the video, I did enjoy it and great information.
Glad you enjoyed it!
So helpful!
Great to hear that, Lori! ❤️
Thank you, this is very helpful. Now I understand why I struggle to pull off high waist jeans even though they’re so popular. I’m a short person with a short torso.
you're welcome!
Your so funny!! Love your informative yet delightful videos! 😃
Oh thank you!
Petite with a VERY short torso here (5'1" and 14" torso) and relatively long legs. Also pear-shaped with narrow shoulders and wider hips. Most of the advice on your channel is basically the opposite of what I need to do to dress my body. I also have a terrible time trying to shop for tops, tees, jackets, dresses, blazers, etc.
I just watched MMStyling - styling a pear shaped body. I think it would have the info you need. The lady was very stylish.
@@trishsh5007 I've seen those videos but her channel isn't specifically catering to petites; we have specific style needs due to our shorter height. (I also find that the styles she shows are very "old"; I'm over 40 but most of those styles seem better suited to my grandma. YMMV.)
I think she dresses for what I would call middle class/upper middle class event dressing. Probably not suited to American way of life.
You are hilarious!
Keep the information coming
you give such good tips, and have me laughing, your so funny love your channel!!!
Helpful information presented in an entertaining manner😂
You are funny and this torso business I dont hear a lot of people talking about it but it really matters! I am 5'3 and my torso is short I think.
Chi you are the best❣️
I love your videos !
Chi!!! you're awesome (as always
Thanks for sharing Andreia! Glad you like it!
Chi, loved the intro. You Crack me up !!!!
Glad you like it!
Thank you so much gorgeous,it’s a wonderful information to know,🙏🏽💕
Thank you Chi, I will measure myself when I have a chance 🙂
Great video
Another great, useful and spicy video! I have long legs, and thanks to the meassurement with my hands, just nioiced that my torse is also long. Btw 5'3" tall + hourglass shape.
huh, interesting .... I'm pretty balanced, 5'6"height and off rack clothes usually fit pretty well without alteration but it looks like I have short torso and long rise proportions since when doing the hands under chest test my belly button is definitely covered. I have always strongly favoured high rise in pants and have had trouble finding any until lately! Need to stock up with low rise coming back, ugh!
The little comedy parts of these sketches crack me up haha! And the info in these videos is so super helpful.🙂 From trying on lots of stuff in mirror with photos from all angles, and reflecting more on the sorta info this chsnnel gives, I had epiphany recently that on my short waist long torso body I will like high enough rise to wear the pants waist hits at my actual waist as in the thinnest part of my waist - then tuck the shirt in. 🙂Now to find pants and shorts with that high a rise! I know skirts can be easier cause no crotch so no worrying if the clothing's crotch hits where I want it.🙂 Also wearing shirts untucked I will like the look best if I shorten the shirts quite a few inches for it to hit around my high hip (I sew so that's ok but also many of the fabrics can just be cut without unraveling cause they are knits). For some reason, many or most shirts it seems are typically so super long even for long torsos. Maybe some shirts marketed as "cropped" would actually hit where I want; I'll check. 🙂P.S. I wonder if there's a word for the measurement from base of throat to the desired hem of shirt (kinda like how inseam works for finding desired pants/shorts/skirt hem length - but for shirts). Thatd be handy when shopping to have a common word for that clothes descriptions say the inches of.
OMG you're hilarious. I love the goofiness...and INFO!
You’re so funny 😆 I love your videos..informative and entertaining
🤣🤣🤣as always Chi! You make me laugh I love love love you!
You are great!
So funny… looove your videos
Also about the two-hands-beneath-bust rule: Ive been thinking maybe it is better to not worry about where bellybutton hits since that seems to happen in variety of places on people. And instead just use that two hands rule to notice where the thinnest indented part of waist hits. If that smallest part is above the bottom of hand #2 I think that means a "short waist." Two hands is about an "average waist." Below the two hands is a "long waist." At least thats what one video said and that feels to me like probably helpful. (Though like this video said, I imagine the size of someone's bust can make a difference. And maybe some busts are positioned higher or lower on chest? Anyway so none of this is perfect science but I find it can be helpful reference points for knowing what types of clothes will look how we want. Custom-made clothing of course is the most accomodating )
I've got short legs and a short waist. I'm long bummed. So that's nice 🥺
You are funny and your videos are very informative!
Glad you like them!
Oh I loved her commercial! She is so cute! I love her sense of humor ❤
Aw! So nice of you! Thank you ❤️❤️
Im 170 cm but i love this channel!
I was actually told as a teenager that I have long legs. I am 5'3". I wear most clothes in the regular length, Jean skirts, leggings. But a tunic length shirt is only four inches less than a dress. At 60 something, I wish knew some of your suggestions earlier. Fit is particularly hard when overweight and out of the petite size range then there are bold prints and chunky jewelry to contend with that are visually overwhelming. I'm getting back to a healthy lifestyle and that helps a lot.
Your knowledge is amazing, Chi, and I've learned so much from your videos. I've learned: my 5'2" self has a big bust, long, apple-shaped torso with a long rise, and short legs. In other words, I'm a goddamned hobbit. Yay... I guess. But at least now I can be a slightly better-dressed hobbit.
Thank you! Glad you find them helpful!
That commercial was hilarious 😂 I loved it! I'm way under 5 4..I'm 4 6 lol
You are SOOO FUNNY!!!! love the Calvin commercial reference.
Thank you Mauna- so glad you recognized it!
I never thought I have this problem. Thank you for informing me 🐒
You're welcome! 🥰
Oh thank goodness I found something that my body relates to .
Thank yoh
It's great to hear that, Jessi! ✨❤️
I'm abnormal... long rise...short torso...short legs and calves so wide knee high boots won't even close. hahaha. Thisis why it is so hard to find clothes that look good on me. Thank you for the great advice.
O wow. Me too. I think i have short torso and legs but my rise is crazy long. If i wear high rise(super high rise) its still hit below my belly button 😒
Borderline of balanced and long torso/short legs.
