My nan had this for 13 years before something bad happened and it over boiled and melted the whole control panel but was never a problem before that and she would use it every day even for 6 7 tops on 44 mins was her favourite and re spin if drying in the house or dryer but she wouldn’t bother for the line. Was faithful till the end she had an electron 1100 energy save series from the 80s before that square door grey panel that also lasted years still wish I could have one but love my lg.

Had the Nextra 1600 spin washer dryer, one of the early ones, it was a tank and lasted years, made a big mistake getting rid of it and replacing it with a Miele, the hoover Nextra washed and rinsed so much better than my £1600 Miele, the Miele lasted 9 months in my house and I sold it for £90 worst machine I’ve ever owned, really wish I’d kept the Nextra washer dryer, had the matching condenser dryer as well, used the dryer for all the big bits and the dry setting on the Nextra for all the little bits like underwear etc. It dried amazingly well and never smelled . God I wish I’d kept it, My Nextra had the sensitive button on it as well, it increased the rinse water. Always used stain blaster and sensitive on every load. Never used the quick settings, with those buttons pressed it did higher water level washing and different drum rotations and it did 5 rinses with the sensitive pressed. There wasn’t a stain it wouldn’t remove, never used stain removers either, rust, curry, grass, black engine oil, my friends hair dye etc ok depressing myself now that I got rid of it lol

we had a very similar machine to this we ended up giving it to my gran in 2010 and it was still going when we sold the house and left it there 7 years later. It would only do high spin on the hour wash and it had a quirky almost gear change like step up to its highest spin speed it would pause then go to the highest spin speed. Much better made than the machines they make now.

My nans done that to both the hoover ones from 80s and 90s it was unexpected at times 😳🤔😂
It’s just a hoover thing rhino brushed ones still do it now i know my other sister candy grand 0 does that and it’s 4, years old.

if i used daily 44, because the final spin is only around 800rpm I would then put it on an additional 1600rpm spin afterwards, by the way did this property you stayed at had a tumble dryer too?

I had the higher spec version of this and the bearings also failed. Other than that, there was nothing wrong with it.

Do not by any of the h hands free from “hoover” I had one only lasted two weeks and stopped working even though fully charged probably the worst vacuum I have owned. And hoover candy wasn’t helpful so just binned it. Got a Henry turbo it’s great hands free ones bar shark ain’t that great don’t waste you’re money 👍🏻
