- Опубліковано 8 бер 2022
- This video premiered on 9th March 2022, five years after I took delivery of this washing machine. In this video I update the review and explain the features and programmes I use the most. I also demonstrate the washer in action using the OKO Power programme. The model featured in this video is L8FEC966R 9Kg
If you want me to video a full programme cycle, please comment below and I will try to film some of your requests. Please note that I won't have this machine after April 25th 2022 as I will have my new washer by then.
Skip to 20:16 if you want to see the machine in action.
Check out AEG's website for their current models: www.aeg.co.uk/laundry/laundry... - Навчання та стиль
On your recommendation I bought mine the washer and the drier, I’m
So pleased with them I think I got mine in 2018! And they are still going strong so thank you x
I have a washer/dryer AEG as I have a small kitchen and nowhere to put a separate dryer. I do love it. I had an Indeshit before which was awful. Noisy and chewed up socks, and often just stopped mid-cycle having to turn off then on, drain and then restart. I love that the AEG is so programmable. Re: the steam option - I use it to freshen up and remove creases from shirts - works really well. Minor issue is ensuring giving a wipe after drying as the next washing load can have fluff through it.
Time flies by it‘s crazy 😅 i got my pair in 2017 and I‘m still so happy with it
That's wonderful! I hope you continue to get more years out of the washer and dryer. Your videos are amazing!
He said he’s giving it to his nephew and has ordered a new machine.
@@Truth1561 thanks
I suggest to leave the drawer open after every wash, it keeps it without black stains made by softener.
5 years ago! I think this machine has done pretty well! 👍👍
Funny. We have almost the same Panasonic Microwave Oven and last Autumn 2022, we bought the AEG 9000-series Lavamat washing machine and 9000-series tumble dryer. I guess AEG was selling the remaining stock before introducing an updated version, so they were on sale, sort of.
1200 Euros for the washing machine and 1080 Euros for the tumbledryer. Much cheaper than the newer upcoming models.
We went for AEG because of an unexpected disappointment with the long term quality of a 10 year old Miele washing machine, that we expected to last at least 25 years. It was completely gone and the circuitry literally went up in smoke.
Our Bosch tumble dryer was a few years older, but was in full working state and was therefore given off to charity.
So we gave AEG as one of the large manufactorers in Europe a chance to prove itself and Good Golly. What a pleasant surprise. Both are the best machines we've ever had.
There's a salt container in the washing machine drawer for water softening and it works amazingly. It was a revelation to hold even 12 year old clothes made of cotton in the hands after finishing the first wash (and then dried) in these new machines and it was absolutely soft as if it was bought yesterday. What a treat. Gobsmacking joy.
And the tumble dryer. Man. Not only is it faster than the old Bosch. It's only using a third of the power consumption, so it's a real long term money saver.
The only future improvement I can think of, to further reduce power consumption, would be to make tumble driers use near-vacuum. Water boils at 20-25C when the pressure is low enough. You can literally suck moist/steam out from fluid water.
My previous washing machine was John Lewis which is a rebadged AEG, at the 5.5 year mark it had just finished the final spin and blew up, now got a Bosch
This is great machine, the okopower is real power program :) i bought Beko and also is good machine. 59min programs are realy helpfull.
aeg 800 series lavamat was launched back in 2017 beetween 2018 and glad to see this machine.
Try the steam cycle for clean clothes that have gotten smelly (smoke, cooking smells). I used it for the first time last week after cooking fish... My jeans and sweatshirt came out slightly damp, so had to be left out to dry for maybe 10mins, but also smell-and-wrinkle-free. Would be a good cycle to deal with musty clothes from storage - instead of the quick wash that you refer to in your video. Using this steam cycle got me to look into what other features I haven't been using... leading me to this video. I also tried the wool cycle using a fancy no rinse wool detergent - brilliant. My next experiment will be adding the steam at the end of the cycle? I wonder if it makes clothes easier to iron....
I would love to see the quick wash. Oko-power with a fuller load and maybe a load of bedding.
Also later this year I would love to see a 6 year follow up on your Miele with maybe maintenance tips and a load demo again with sounds of the washing step as you left that out of your review. Compared to other dishwashers you demonstrated on your channel.
Still going strong after all this time is a good look for AEG
Awesome video Roger 👌👌
So sad to see it go, It feels like it was yesterday when you got it! I do wonder what washer you would pick! I just know it's going to be a good machine😁😁😊
Aeg, Samsung and Miele are top machines 😎
19:14 ibaisiac that’s exactly the model I’m getting in a few months. Let me correct you on something. That model is still manual dose but allows pods or capsules into the drawer. This activates them 60% faster than putting into the drum.😊
We just bought it today , and hopefully it goes well, thanks for the people who have commented with their using experience ❤
Can’t believe you have it for so long now. Seems to be a good washer. But do you use the softening function and does it really make a difference on hang drying clothes? We have hard water here in Germany. Clothes will get bone hard if I don’t dry them in the dryer.
And I have a request for you: could you do a full 9kg load of Towels on Anti Allergy 60 with max Spin, +1 extra rinse, powdered detergent and no softener? That would be nice.
Kind regards from Germany
Could you show the duvet program would love to see that your washing machine videos are so fun and entertaining to watch thank you
Can't believe its been 5 years still feels like yesterday when you got. Can't wait to see the new washer
I’m looking forward to it. I hear Indesit are the best you can buy.😜
@@ibaisaic wait, what😂
@@ibaisaic dont u mean indishit lmao
@@ibaisaic indeshit? Those suck, I would recommend another LG or maybe a Samsung!
Indesit are the Rolls Royce of washing machines I’ve been told. Designed to last 30 years at least.
I’m hoping you have chosen an Ebac! I would love to see an independent review of them as I was very tempted when I just replaced my Samsung.
I have Electrolux EWF1287HDW2, drum is the same like in AEG and I must say that I'm really happy how it works. Especially cause it have 50 degrees which is not typical in many machines. 99% I using Cottons and with Time Manager 50 degrees is around 1:35 and it really works well. I used few time steam and I wasn't happy about effects. For me shame that Electrolux with new design resign from cycle status cause for me is very important thing. I really like how machine work when it's end heating, this phase is so intensive. From your washer I really like water from above. Do you still have dryer? I wonder if dryer will work five years...
I had the AEG and I found it to be a wonderful machine. It NEVER had any problems with spinning when there was towels or the load got too soapy. It would just do a slow spin and gradually increase it was marvellous. However at the three year mark after too many overloads the drum made a scraping sound when turning. I replaced it with the $5000 Miele m touch and I think it’s great but the double price I really don’t think I would spend that again when the AEG gave the same sort of results at half the price. I suppose we will see how long the Miele lasts.
May I ask which miele you bought and how do you find the machine.
@@ianpurcell7266 hello, it was called the WWV980 WPS Passion.
Personally it does a good job but I find only when I have water plus selected and in the settings it’s set to water plus x3. If I don’t select water plus I don’t find the results sufficient. If it’s left to it’s own without water plus selected it wastes 20 plus minutes adding water drip by drip and then rubbing the clothes to death with a drum without water.
I also never use power wash and select water plus for everything. I find power wash a total waste of time. I rather use the express 20/30 instead of power wash. I had put 3 items in and some of them came out after the power wash still dry. To me it’s a gimmick and it wastes time detecting the water for half the cycle.
For me I use cottons for everything and then express for very small loads if need be. I also don’t find the results of twindos as good as using a high quality powder detergent. I also find it doesn’t get to the 1600 spin often and I have to re do the spin cycle on it’s own and then it does get to the full spin.
If I was to purchase again it would be without twindos. I have only had the machine around a year so I’m undecided on if I would purchase Miele again, but it’s had plenty of nuisances that have been slightly irritating from time to time.
Probably the most annoying was the first machine Miele replaced and the second came with the same fault which meant the springs made a horrible metal noise. They lubricated the springs and the issue was gone. However I didn’t expect that from a top tier brand.
I think for speed and ease of use I preferred the AEG but for build quality and also customising cycles the Miele is better.
I do get issues with big loads from time to time where the pump can’t drain fast enough so it stops spinning to drain and then starts again and sometimes this happens 3 or 4 times. Mostly just with big loads of towels.
That is a fairly comprehensive reply. You have made it clear that the miele is a good machine but with some annoying things. I want to change my own miele to a new machine but I don't think miele are as good as they were years ago.Biggest difference is the 1000euro price increase on the top model. And as I've noticed with newer miele products there built lighter but in some ways better.
Very nice video again! Could you film the cottons cycle on 60 with 1x TimeSaver? Thanks in advance.
We recently bought this machine, but we are facing issues with lint/fluff after every wash and it is all stuck in the rubber. Have to always clean it with Vaccum cleaner.
Can I request full load bedding and towels on cotton 60c and max spin 1 extre rinse please . I can't believe it 5 years and wot what is new washing machine you get. I can't wait to see you new washing machine
Hello, I recently bought one and it is very beautiful and excellent, but I have a question if I forgot an item and I wanted to add it to the wash, what should I do to stop it and restart it from where it left off??
Thanks
Had my washer dryer a year I cannot get the door rubber clean I have tried everything it looks 10 years old
Could you do a synthetics 50 with max time save? I love this machine! Tip: NEVER get a samsung, I have one and it is so bad!
There's noticeable amount of water in the drum. We've got an Lg washer and there doesn't seem to be enough water in the drum no matter the cycle.
Hello, can you do a short program with half a drum please
Could you do Cottons 60 with plus steam and Soft plus and an Extra Rinse? Also I’ve always liked these AEGs and would really love to own one of these in the future :) shame it’s going tho 😢
Could you do a full load on anti allergy cycle? 😄
Hi, can you film the duvet program?
Can you do a wash on the duvet setting
Mine is the 7000 series 10kg bought in 2019 with a family of 7 and 28 washes a week
Love tea towel demonstrations especially with gravy browning.
Hello Ibasic. I would like you to try to use the separate steam cycle with a small load of towels just after you have washed them and you have still not dryed them as I would like to see your reaction after they will go from the steam cycle. Please, do a separate steam cycle after washing your towels befory drying them. I guess you will be nicely surpressed...
AEG Similar to Electrolux or AEG By Electrolux?
We have the same washer and also the dryer. It was in the house when we moved in. Our mashine seems to use very little water (I cannot se any excess water in the drum during the wash). I have asked AEG, and they tell me it is as it should be, but.... How much excess water do you have with a full load?
BTW I have just used the Steam programme for the first time, and learned a few new features as well, so thank you for that.
The dryer I have found has a noisy sound from day 1, but again AEG says it is how it should be. I wonder if you have a video of the dryer - I will look for it.
Yes I have a video of the dryer on my channel and I don’t find it to be excessively noisy. There always seems to be plenty of water on show during the wash.
I’m abit confused about the salt part of this machine . Any ideas and can you use dishwasher salt ?
The model in this video does not require salt. I expect it is dishwasher salt you use in the version with a water softener, but without seeing the instruction book I can’t confirm this.
I have an AEG 8000 bought end December 2019 and I’ve had no trouble with the programmes I use regularly. Today I tried the Wool/Silk programme with just 4 silk pillowcases for the first time. Could you please show this programme in action 🙏🏻? I know it has ‘reduced’ movement of the drum to protect the delicate fabrics but I had virtually NO action AT ALL! The machine filled with the soapy water and the items just sat in it! There was literally ONE half turn of the drum half way through the cycle and then a light spin at the end. I don’t know if that means it’s faulty or not but AEG don’t have a technical customer service department to ask - so I’d appreciate your (or any of your viewers) comments before I get a call out charge just to be told this is actually ‘normal’!
TIA
It is normal. The drum doesn’t move very much during that programme.
@@ibaisaic Thank you for your reply! 👍🏻
can you make a oko power wash in video please ( sudsy )
Where is it made
Do the outdoor program
We need a cake for AEG
I have one for about 5-6 years too.. and seems to be well but wish it had a quick wash instead of "okopower" as okopower on my model is just "wash and dry for 3 hours" no 59 min option at all and almost EVERY single option has a dry function anyway! I didnt get the model i wanted the model i wanted had less water in the dry mode but more in the wash mode which is what i wanted (i like more water during washing).. But it some reason was 4cm TALLER then any standard and therefore obviously wont fit in any uk kitchen which only has 1cm space between washer and the kitchen surface
I dont have anti allergy or 20 min or duvet. Just a pain the one i wanted had these and my okopower takes 3 HOURS.
Hi, I am a complete washingmachine beginner and we got this machine. I remarked that there was almost a continuous incoming stream of water in the front (up) of the machine when running eco40-60. Is this supposed to be happening? Thank you in advance
Yes, that is normal on selected programmes.
There is a pump at the bottom and it pumps the water round in a loop
i sell this machine for a living act ually :)
great machine
I need a new washing machine.. and I need your helppp please!! What brand/machine would you recommend?
AEG or Miele.
Hello. I have the same washer. Please, help me if you can. How can I reduce the spin speed on spin only cycle? If I chose only spin cycle, I can't reduce the speed becauce the program goes on regular with temperature and all, If you know what I mean. Please help if you can. Thank you.😊
You need to select a programme that has a lower spin speed and select the spin only option.
Can you do a spin only 1600rpm please
I can’t manage to put it on 1600 tours.. advise?
1600 spin will only work with certain programmes. You can do a spin only at 1600 by selecting cottons and spin only.
Reucuest Tea Towels on cottons 95 degress 1600rpm whit stain and prewash and softplus
It felt like it was yesterday God damn I'm getting old ☹️
Out of curiosity, why do so many people like to watch the wash cycles?
if possible could you do cotton eco 60°?
I don’t think my SD card will fit over four hours of footage.
ah, fair enough. how about anti-allergy or duvet cycle?
@@ibaisaic Maybe with TimeSaver :)
Before you get rid of this keep it when the new washer comes and do a spin race with new washer and old
Yeah good idea
He also has a Hoover washer as well in his garage still I think
How do you select maintenance mode on this machine?
There isn’t one.
OK thanks.
Where is the AEG now made? They were in Italy, some say its Poland now?
I believe this washing machine was made in Poland.
В Италии собирают премиум AEG
It's sad to say goodbye to this washer when it has only been 5 years of keeping it. I still wonder about the country where this washer was made since the sticker doesn't say it.
AEG is owned by AB Electrolux Sweden and the washer is likely made in Thailand, not that that matters anyway, as it does the job.
For washers sold in Europe it’s Italy or Poland I believe.
@@ibaisaic Yes
Im gonna guess its a miele the new one
"If I didn't like this machine I would of swapped it & I'm happy with it" Proceeds to purchase a new machine.
A relative needed a washer as he had just bought his first house, so I gifted him the AEG. I wouldn’t have used this machine for so long if I didn’t like it and would have bought a Miele years ago. This video was filmed long before I decided to get a new machine.
How do you connect with wifi?
You first need to buy a washing machine with wi fi connect-ability. The model in this video does not have Wi Fi.
What is the washing machine called
Betty
Can you do a cotton 90 with the full spin speed with towels please
I can do it at 60, I'm not washing my bath towels at 90. I could do the Tea Towels at 90 though.
@@ibaisaic yeah that would be interesting bath towels on a 60 would love to see how the machine takes with towels

Glad to see that we were spared the sight of crusty boxers being cleansed…
You won’t see that as I don’t wear boxer shorts, I know how to wipe my arse effectively and I use moist toilet tissue alongside three ply quilted.
@@ibaisaic That’s really great to hear, Roger.😀 It was really a reference to your comment about Mark’s smalls in your most recent ‘Bits & Doings’ video!

It's a secret. All will be revealed when I get it.

Could you please do a video of cleaning the drain on this machine.
I hope to do a full maintenance video before it goes to its new home.
@@ibaisaic It looks like you are a fabric softener user. If you have any tricks for how to clean the space in between where you pour and where it goes before going to the drum, please do tell! Mine is quite skungy and I can't access the area to clean (design flaw?), and now a cycle leaves it full of clean water - which has to be emptied so that softener can be added to next wash load.
I don’t really get bothered by the capacity, i used to wash king size duvets on 5kg old washers, duvets are not hard to handle so u can wash whatever u want 😄

Which model is it?
hes gettting a miele
I had an AEG and went to Miele. The Miele has issues with their springs. Not sure why. It was $5000… and it sounded awful. They replaced it and the replacement did the same. So they came out and lubricated the springs and the sound stopped. I think the touch screen and everything is cool but I wouldn’t say it’s washing any better then the AEG and cost twice the price.
The Miele is a beautiful machine but I’m not convinced until I see how long it lasts, I find the twindos irritating too. It doesn’t get towels free from smelling but I find the powder detergent does.
The other thing I would say is the AEG will fill and then add more water and it has a slightly higher water level is the default. Even with water plus on and enabled to x3 in the settings, water isn’t visible in the Miele like it was in the AEG.
I've never heard of this brand, I see lots of neat advantages in spin only drain only and the like... I'm a little lost on the speed of spin... as we here in US don't recognize the rpm or number associated with it. I've no idea what my LG at the fastest spin is. I do wish I could drain only... my only option is to rinse and spin. I'm not sure how any company can say running a eco program makes sense if it actually has the power up and running longer. I think it's a total mislead. If my washer shuts down and stops drawing power sooner, I see it as energy saving. If it powers for a long time it actually uses MORE energy. My dishwasher is the same way, in eco mode it runs almost an hour longer, I'm sorry but that's physically impossible... can't run electricity for longer and save electricity. The only thing eco washer/ dishwashers can save is water. Run your machine for less time, use less energy - that's common sense. Interested to see what you'll be getting next. Great review! Smiles and blessings...
On the eco options the machine isn’t drawing power for long periods and it’s time plus the detergent that is doing the work- it definitely does use less electricity, as I’ve seen it measured with a power usage meter. They often also use less water in some machines which can save you money of you pay for your water.
@Private1 While, some look at their power meters and see less draw, unless you're an electrician you don't realize, less draw over a longer period is more expensive. Meters are read for their numbers, in other words how long the numbers flip in usage. So even if you use less actual wattage, you still pay more for your electric bill. If the numbers on your meter continue to run, whether they are drawing lots of amperage or little, it's the way electric companies charge. That is why people are told to literally unplug all smart Tv's, they still pull the meter numbers even if off. They don't use hardly any electricity at all in off mode, but they still make those numbers move on your meter. Knowing what moves the numbers on your meter is what's in important. Don't be fooled by less draw at outlet, what is making your meter numbers flip... that's what counts. And believe me, these companies know it. They lie on purpose, making people believe their electricity bills will be less but in all actuality the eco mode only changes the amperage... less than normal so they can say it's "energy saving" but in the end of you choose this mode you'll pay for it more. We've proven it.
@@hisimagenme this comment causes me physical pain. On what planet can you come to the conclusion that using less electricity and water will cost you MORE money...
The eco programs on these machines don't heat to the chosen temperature while increasing the time to compensate the missing heat to gain the same wash-results as the normal program (minus the hygienic aspect on a 60° wash, thats with eco no longer given). What's using the most energy is the heating element (the AEG in this video should have a 1950W element, most machines here are cold-fill only), the other components use way less. So if the machine doesn't heat as long as on the normal program, less power is consumed, even if it washes way longer. The downside is, these exorbitant wash-times will wear out the clothes way faster mechanically...
@@GeniusSL exactly. That's why these eco programmes are ideal for towels and bedding etc, but not clothing.
6 wondrous pen
I’m not sure if AEG laundry product design / production has changed in recent years as I bought a heat pump AEG tumble dryer in 2023 and it’s genuinely awful and AEG customer service is even worse. It struggles to dry a half load properly on the eco setting - often the contents are still damp, despite following daily maintenance.
My Miele novotronic tumbler from 1994 does a better job.
My AEG dryer is still working fine, even better since we brought it into the house after spending most of its life in the garage.
FYI, Method is biological like Persil.
