This right here needs to be the top comment right now. I do NOT trust 343 anymore, nobody does, I'm not about to get hyped into oblivion only to get crushed yet again. I REALLY HOPE, they don't fuck with anything the original has already established or change it's design language, just add to it, brush up the animations and make it more modern while still keeping the original art style and everything else.
That said, I don't think 343 will ever learn. We shall see...

I greatly prefer this to a “somehow the flood returned” in Halo 7. Pretty much every mystery about the Flood has been revealed and Halo Infinite brought a sense of mystery that I loved and we haven’t had in a long time.

I don't find this to be good news in the slightest. If they *remake* Halo CE, that opens the floodgates to remakes for the rest of the original trilogy too, which just makes it a reboot of the series, and looking at the Modern Warfare reboot, it doesn't bode very well. This definitely should not be celebrated or encouraged, at least in my opinion. We don't need remasters, remakes, and reboots. We need *good* new games.
It'll also be the perfect opportunity for 343 to completely erase Bungie's lore (even though without Bungie, Halo would never have existed), because they seem hell-bent on disrespecting everything Halo.

I don't trust this being good. From their past halo games 343 has been reluctant to make halo rated T with the exception of 4. I don't understand why they wouldn't want to bring back the flood as they have titles like Gears of War with excessive blood. They already ruined the Halo TV show. joined in the fact that Microsoft Embraces DEI in their products. I don't have faith in this release. Call me pessimistic. But their track record hasn't been really "good" so far. If that's the case then this pattern will probably continue forth to the next halo title. Which the reason why I don't have faith in this release.

I’m so done with modern regurgitations of the same old games, it’s time for the franchises story to gain new ground, it’s time to add to the cannon, even if it’s a little flawed like Infinite was. I would prefer to see maybe an ODST game or a game that follows Red Team or Omega Team through the events of Halo Wars 2.

For me the only thing that matters in a FPS game is the gameplay, sandbox and level design. The only Halo that I really liked in term of narrative was Halo 2

You’re so right. I can still be a bit excited for any more campaign, new or remaster. But we need the other half of Infinite’s story bad. I think it really would have made the Reclaimer Trilogy connect better to the Forerunner Saga, as 343 obviously wanted to go that route at the start of Halo 4. If they would’ve stayed on their course and had faith, we could’ve gotten an epic trilogy that combines the future-military side of Halo with the Technological and Spiritual side. I think it could’ve elevated the reputation of 343’s approach, and would have a lot of things come full circle. Including answering a huge question every Halo player has had since the original Two Betryals cutscene. I know it sort of has already, but a revelation that Chief has Bornstellar’s Geas and him and Didact have to team up against the Primordial returning again would’ve been so much cooler than team Osiris and Banished. Though the Banished would be cool to see join forces with Chief and the Prometheans to stop Unity, as the Primordial calls it. Whether that be from The Flood, the Precursors, or the Endless.

They’re building the CE remake in unreal as a release buffer and ultimate test for Halo 7 to be built in unreal. CE remake in 2026 and Halo 7 in 2028

Not going to lie I'm definitely doomer to this leak. I'm very skittish around modern remakes that tend to lose the soul rather than shine it up. Hopefully all they do is just remake the actual gameplay but keep the voice acting and overall designs. Halo can't keep messing up man. If this is even true that is.
It'd be interesting to see if they'd be able to add new weapons to the sanbox like the Covenant carbine or the SMG. Maybe bring dual-wielding back. It would be a huge plus if they could incorporate elements from the later games that fans love while still retaining the feel of Halo: CE.

You’re right it doesn’t. But 343 or even Xbox in general doesn’t have the rep for a new halo game right now and they don’t want to fuck up a halo on UE. So might as well start off easy and get their feet under them so they can build halo 7. You have to remember the engine changes a lot so this would be their chance to fine tune the game so that halo 7 feels like a halo from the start.

Why? OG CE is perfect, there’s no need to do a remake unless they’re going to keep the game super faithful with updated graphics and gameplay mechanics, weapons, more story telling details and references, and expand on the story by jumping into the Halo First Strike story. I want it to really show the gritty and horror aspect of fighting the flood. Maybe even use multiple POV’s like Fire team Ravens story or even R’tas and the flood outbreak

I feel like everyone's catchin up to where I was like 5-10 years ago. People just "getting hype" without actually thinking through what this entails. Nice to see so many catching on, however.
I have no hype for this whatsoever, 343 failed too many times. I don’t trust them to make something already perfect better? They’ll find a way to add their own spin to it for sure.
I love halo man and I was hyped asf for halo infinite "a new start for halo" just for everyone including me to forget about it in a week this just seems desperate I can't get excited not for halo under 343 at least

In my eyes,unless Halo is given to another team, its dead. And they just confirmed it by not going for a spinnoof.
The problem is Halo hasn't had a *team* since Bungie. 343i is like four managers and then five hundred temps who get to work for six months before being fired.
The current 343 IS basically a whole new team, though. Why don't people understand this.

An issue I can see immediately with changing the engine is nailing down the physics. Might be hard to recreate the physics in UE, but let us hope they can do it

The reason they have to go back to Halo: CE is because they fucked up the Halo brand so bad that nobody would be hyped for a Halo 7.

Sadly, some still do. People still say stuff like "well it's new management now!" like we haven't heard the same cope since Halo 5 was in development. They've had Halo for over a decade and the amount of excuses and chances they have been given is unbelievable already. That anyone would still give them a modicum of trust is depressing.
This is their 4th reboot in a row. No I don’t have any positive anticipation for anything they make. Much like my childhood, Halo ended a really fucking long time ago.

ZZZZzzz...what? Oh, it's another decade, another remake of Halo Combat Evolved. Hope they extend the campaign to 30 levels or something. They can surely make a Black Mesa out of a Half-Life with content cut for console and launch windows limitations. Perfect opportunity to introduce the Banished and the Endless and the Prometheans, and the Spartan-IIIs and the ODSTs and the Arbiter, so they were there in the story all along. It'll be as confusing as the first time I played it. Hope they don't forget the weapons, vehicles, and enemies manual.

The only thing that scares me about a remake is retcons. If they stay true to the original, leave the story alone, recapture the feel of fighting the flood, I'm all for it. They really wouldn't even need to change the controls or mechanics, honestly.

Yup 343 is cooked. I mean I love Halo CE but we already have it and the aniversary edition. What's the point? They really have no talent, nothing to offer. The best they can do is reskin the same game over and over and over again. I'm calling it now they're gonna find a way to suck the soul out it somehow, battle passes, microtransactions, etc. The only thing Microsoft and 343 have proven to be able to do consistently is make Halo worse.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

The original Halos were never that Mature to begin with. It’s not like they had constant gore, F words and sex or something. The only reason CE got M was because of the Human flood dismemberment counting as Heavy Gore.
