Little Samson is my favorite NES game next to Contra and Super Mario Bros 3. It’s amazing what TAITO Was able to accomplish late in the NES Life and I’m glad it’s getting the attention it deserves now. I hope one day it gets re-released on the Nintendo Switch or even a remake. It’s a true masterpiece in 8-bit gaming technology. Panic Restaurant is also one of my favorites. I actually had a cat that I named Cookie after this game.
I can remember getting a mint copy of Little Samson (loose cart) in an ebay lot back in the early 2000s and then being happy that I got $50 for it re-selling it. Oh how I wish I had held on to it. Same goes for Snow Bros. and Bonk's Adventure. Had them all mint, I think I got $30 for Bonk and $60 for Snow Bros. How times have changed!
I can remember playing stadium events with the power pad. I’d get down on the floor and use a hammer fist technique for the controls instead of standing using my feet. I was unstoppable.
Those prices are off the chain. Geez. Sure wish I had them in my collection. Most NES games were not on my radar. I was team Sega back in the day although I did dabble in a handful of NES games but by the time most of these came out I was all in on Genesis already. It's surprising that companies were still making that many NES games that long after the SNES came out.
I myself don't think the prices are all that high considering the scarcity of the product minus the last two. As a collector of all things Neo Geo AES/MVS most of these prices seem small by comparison. For example the Flintstones game is so damn rare that I grew up during the 3rd/4th/5th generations and I have never seen one in the wild, ever.
I bought a raspberry pi 4 a couple months ago with like 15,000 games on it and I haven't even scratched the surface. Basically play arcade games on it but I play all these old games too from when I was a kid and my god they're so hard now. I think they were hard back then but not like they are now. Going from far Cry 6 and then trying to play Castlevania is totally different.
So accurate haha, I consistently go back and play the classics like SMW and DKC but I remember going back to ghouls and ghosts and ghosts and goblins and getting absolutely destroyed 😂
Removing two player simultaneous play in Bubble Bobble 2 seems really weird when you consider that you needed to play 2 player mode, with both players surviving the final boss fight, to get the true ending of Bubble Bobble 1.
*Favorite games from the list in alphabetical order:* ● Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers 2 ● Flintstones: The Surprise at Dinosaur Peak, The ● Little Samson ● Power Blade 2
Okay...At first I thought these games were pricey but I expected far more from the rarest Nes games. That is until you talked about Little Sampson and Track & Field. Those prices are what I expect from super rare Nes games. This is a neat channel that I will put in my regular rotation. I too am a collector of all things gaming particularly with the Neo Geo AES/MVS, Sega Saturn, and Sony PlayStation. I also collect for the PS4/PSPRO/PS5 and Xbox One/One X/Series S/Series X...only physical obviously. :)
I think the thing is that back then, they were just random games. No one knew how much they were going to be worth for a few more years and most people had already moved on to stuff like the PS2, Xbox and Gamecube by that point!
Video idea (and you could do this for any console) - a Top 10 "Best Bang for your Buck." This would be a list created from taking, let's say, a Top 100 games list for a console (from some to be determined source) and then taking the 10 cheapest games from that list.
i dont know who you are but you sure are an alien that knows your vintage games thats done your homework more than me which my wife would say impossible to find. subscribing
I have an original NES with the Duck Hunt Gun, and game still in the original box. I also have The Legend of Zelda and original maps still in the box as well.
I'm an avid retro game collector with over 400 NES games in my collection and it kind of sucks knowing that I'll most likely never own an official copy of one of these games unless I find one by accident at a yard sale or something haha.
I saw a loose cartridge of power blade 2 in a video game store that was 800 dollars... just the cartridge. Note: I like how most of these games on this list were developed by Taito.
You should revisit all of the consoles you've done these "rarest and most expensive" videos for and go the exact opposite route -- tell us the cheapest, least rare games on each platform. Stuff like a "Mario / Duck Hunt" or "Top Gun" NES cartridges that probably aren't worth the salvage value of their plastic! :D Anyway, it's an idea, and in this nutty collector's market, might give your viewers previews of things they could actually afford and be kind of funny to boot.
Got my hands on a gorgeous copy of Little Samson earlier this year and was nervous even touching it, but god the game is good, it deserves its high status, wish more people had gotten to experience it !
I can't believe I actually own a game on this list. Found a box of games in my dad's attic, and Bonk's Adventure was one of them. I was taken by surprise when googling all the games, so I came to UA-cam to see if it made any "rare game" lists.
Or just buy the reproduction copies like I did for 50 bucks each on ebay. Yes I wrote reproduction on each. I just wanted to actually play these games without selling my car first.
I used to play a game like that Olympic track one at my buddies place when we kids. We used our fists on the pad to run faster haha! No way he still has that and the pad though.
@@lucyloo2228 Probably no more than 2 bucks. Most people who do garage sales dont really double check how rare their stuff is, because most of the stuff they're selling has been collecting dust in a box.

Rad2X cable is great with it. I had to have Micro Mages made for the Famicom with the ROM I recieved when I bought the game. I have a jem case on the NES version and will probably sell it someday because I don't have a NES. It's never even been slid in a unit.
Agreed, I loved the change in art style! I feel like they probably went that route because I’m not sure if the nes would have been able to handle the graphics from the arcade version

A good rule of thumb, if the game came out after 1993 for the nes it's probably extremely rare.
