  • Here is an unboxing of my Vostok Komandirskie ref #211288 "Paratrooper". I already owned a different reference number of Vostok Komandirskie. The same case and movement but with a different dial. I like the brand and the history of Vostok, so I decided to buy another one. I will give you a my first impressions of this watch, some close up shots and a quick overview of this Russian military watch.
Vostok Amphibian is definitely on my list of watches to buy in 2018.
Here is the unboxing video of that watch: • Unboxing of Vostok KOM...
Here is a full review of Vostok Komandirskie: • Amazing deal only $25 ...
    * I say that I paid is $45 USD in the video. It's actually $42 including shipping (with today's conversion rates from CAD to USD). The previous watch (Vostok Komandirskie ref #211398) I paid $26 USD including shipping. Technically both watches are the same price but for this watch I had to pay extra $15 USD for shipping.
Here is a link to the cheapest one I could find on eBay: goo.gl/UY19Sp
Here is a link to the watch from where I bought mine eBay: goo.gl/8z3pLL
Here is a link to the seller where I bough mine: goo.gl/HkfUuX
    Thanks for watching!

So share with us some of your experience with this watches. I intend to buy one in future but i m concerned about their "cheap" finishing and overall quality. How they perform on long term. How the case perform? Regarding is not SS.

@@ravn-zx5vz The straps definitely have to be replaced. As for the movement, I get 30-40 hours of service before needing to rewind. Mine tend to run about a minute fast over a 24 hours period, but this can vary due to the user and environment. I’m hard on my watches -- I wear them while measuring buildings and occasionally bang them against corners (accidentally). The crystal scratches easily but the shell and movement are rugged and durable. To me, for the price, these timepieces are hard to beat.

One of the most satisfying sounds for me is the winding of a Vostok! Very nice review!

I was considering that dial, it's a great looking watch.

Thanks for the viideo. My stepfather gave me one of these which belonged to his father. I had no idea of what the brand even was but managed to discover. Really nice. Mine's an older version, with a yellowish face. Again, thanks

Lol, I just bought one of these with the same dial but in the 811 case.
Was planning to just use the case for a project, but the applied indexes on the dial are acually pretty cool!
    All for only $30 :)

I just ordered the 431783 and I'm excited!
€31,50 shipped after a small negotiation with a very experienced Russian eBay seller. For an in house hand winding movement (especially the old school non-automatic part), waterproof watch in Soviet tradition is just too cool for me to ignore. Let's be honest, even if it doesn't run, I'll buy a few more probably. I'm a bit of a fan of post-Soviet Russian speakers, the best people in the world IMO. And many who've met them agree. I need more Slavic friends.
The 431783 is about the least military one I could find, I'm a loud mouthed passivist myself. Maybe later I'll go a bit more towards paratrooper or stunt plane.
I don't have many 18 mm straps to try this on, just a few rubber ones (for digital watches) and stuff the Chinese sent to me for free (in error). Perhaps a 20mm Nato will suit it nicely squeezed in there. 20mm canvas ones also just might work with some persuasion. I just saw a video of a Komandirski that was put on a cheap (and cut) brown PU NATO. I have one in darker brown. It's stretchy but silly comfortable indeed. Will probably get an 18 mm one use for the heck of it.

I have one, plain dial version. I like the date-flip instantly at midnight & it’s accurate-ish, around a minute per week.

I just bought the same exact one except it has some numbers on the bezel. I can’t wait for it to get here.

The brilliant thing about Vostoks is they are like budget cars, easy to use, easy to maintain, easy to mod and you can put your dial/movement into just about anything that takes the 2409/2414A movements by pushing the pip that holds the crown in, gently let the movement drop out, put your new case over, line up the holes and then just push the stem back in and off you go. Take me about 3 mins to recase a Vostok Komandirskie or Amphibia as I always like to clean out and polish the inner surfaces and rodico any dust off of dial. Meranom and other outlets do sell bare cases and mods, the bezels all fit every model, Amphibia's have different tension ring crystals than the Komandirskies and Amphibia cases are SS whereas Komandirskies are plated brass.

I just bought three. Love them, but having a hard time with the winding process.

Always be gentle, coax the crown into its position then gently wind forwards and back until you feel the first bite of resistance then reseat the stem by pushing firmly in, screw down, then unscrew to set the time if needed, don't do the time and wind in the same operation and always reseat the stem. Don't screw hard on the crown either, they are quite weak brass threads and will strip easily, gentle snug is all that is needed.

Its weird, I am not a real fan of leather straps except the leather Zulu's but the Vostok "boot leather" black strap I got with my tank commander I can live with, its as leather goes with me something rugged and that leather is iron hard, which adds to the whole "combat" ready mythos of Vostoks. My first admiralskie arrived yesterday in its gleaming star shaped case and bezel showing a battleship and added to the display next to my two Generalskie's, I now want an MOD issue case to house my NOS Amphibia bits/movement/radio room dial and found one for £20 online brand new too so that will be winging its way to me in the UK :)

Am I missing something? What is the point of the rotating bezel? It has no markings to time against or to GMT against, so why is it even needed, especially as a rotating bezel rather than fixed.

It is to give to the watch a more dressy look but you can replace it with a real one

I believe they use the same case for many different watches with some of them having another bezel, lowering manufacturing costs and so on

I have the same one but with numbers on the bezel.the band sucks.was wearing it the other day and heard what sounded like a steel coin falling on the ground.the back of the watch came off with the ring that holds the back on got unscrewed and fell off.got it for 60 bucks on amazon prime.got it in 1 day.

These VOSTOK videos are for old style Russian models. In 2020 there are many new models Anchar,Europe, The 2020 limousine,Energia Rocket. These new models (at least 85)deserve a Critique.J.e.

HANDS OFF VOSTOK!!! If you can't make a significant meaningful critique don't make any. I have a four month old VOSTOK ALMAZ CHRONOGRAPH in Bronze PVD (made in Vilnius Lithuania not Russia) gains 2 seconds a month, comfortable, stylish, noteworthy and excellent. I will critique the Energies rocket in rose gold when arrives. J.e.
