Contrary to what you say the strap is good quality leather that will outlast most others , it is finished ruff as the watch is intended for hard use situations , not a dress watch but a workers watch ,it is a military watch band long lasting durable ,it does not mind wet dry scruffing all not intended for the fancy crowd

I have a large collection of Vostok,different styles, dials,cases etc. I love it. 31 jewels movement is excellent ! A real beater. Good quality. The bracelets are junk, so I replaced them with leather, mash bracelets, rubber bands. Some bezels replaced with Murphy's manufactured bracelets.
I just got this exact watch as my first Vostok yesterday and love it. I got the blue face and have it on a black nato strap. I think that's perfect with its field watch status. I don't think it's an automatic and just wind it up each day with its quirky crown,which I love. Great video

I have had many mechanical watches, all automatics. I can hear the rotor in a quiet room with basically every automatic watch I have, even the more expensive ones. I am feeling like I now prefer a hand wound watch. Thinner, lighter, goes under a long sleeve shirt easier. Love my Komandirskie. Lume lasted all night and was still visible in the morning. Couldn't believe it. The second hand gets a little jumpy for a little bit after a full wind, but I just don't care. So much character in this piece.
the lume on mine lasts all night. I can see it easily with my reading glasses on. I am 72 years old. I put mine on a black leather merino Hirsch water resistant strap. Cost more than the watch. I have more expensive watches but the gradient blue dial (the one you showed) and it's slim size makes it my favourite for everyday wear.

I like the 24 hour numbers alongside the 12 hour numbers. I like my Komandurskie tough as nails despite the toy-like look. I have mine on a Hirsch merino artisan leather strap. Watch cost me £30. Strap was £40. I am mad I know but I can't face a bead blasted non handwinding Seiko 5 that are sooo common. I like quirky things that do a job and a Komandurskie fills the bill.

I have many amfibia's.....love them. I have one of these too modded with a clean bezel on a nice NATO. It works beautifully. Very reliable. So this is a manual of wind version of the same movement in the amfibia's. Basically they simply unbolt the automatic winding assembly from the movement. Hence less jewels but also a much slimmer package. Very light on the wrist. It will also take any of the after market bezels even though they don't say so. Great watches.
hey Bruce, nice review :) i have a Komandirskie for about 3 years now , it's a funky watch even if i don't wear it on a daily basis i still like to wind it now and then. the date has kind of a quick set you take the hands back to 8 a clock and then back to 12 and repeat this (some tutorials on youtube on this) and so it's a bit faster to set. enjoy it and hope to see other reviews from you soon!

I've just bought one very similar,and I must say I'm very impressed,and happy with it! I paid £45,and I can't think of anything..taking into consideration Vostok's history and reputation,that comes close for the money? I really like the new Amphibia Reef range,so that may be my next purchase?

Wind watch between 12 and back to 7 then 12 again. It’s a great little watch only ctiticism is spacing o those 24 hr markers are uneven. The movement is tough but lubrication and regulation is hit and miss from factory so if you can get a watchmaker to regulate and put a drop of oil in it so much the better.

I just ordered this one for $31.50 shipped, new. Don't expect anything from it, but I just love Russian speakers and had to support a Russian company that's just doing its own thing.
Ya, great watches, i own an amphybia and my son a komandriske, really confortables and really bullshit strap, mine one is on 5 sec/day, but depending on the rest position a lot, so not much acuracy calibers, but ok for the money. The main negative point for komandriske is just 30m wr, too poor for a military watch. Thanks for the review

No need to wind up the watch unless you kept it idle for long period of time. - Expensive, starts at $65 in eBay, $90 in Amazon. - Stainless steel case Both have Lucite crystal, so they will scratch. So carry Polywatch scratch remover to buff those scratches. Keep in mind if you're buying from eBay, you're buying straight from Russia. It can take from 3 weeks (If you're lucky) to 3 months due to Russia Post logistics.
Komandirskie waterproof to 20m Amphibia to 200m. I have both instructions and it's printed there in atmospheres 2 and 20 respectively. The Russians mean what they say. I have Citizen eco instructions and 30m means It's only splash proof. So the Japanese watch specs are just a bluff.

you can advance the date by rotating back and forth between 9pm and 3am. Not exactly a quick set but it will speed up date setting.
Well, the quick date-change is doing to 10 to 14 hour move of the hour hand. every time you pass the 12 it will increase the date.

Mine ran 3 minutes a day fast, when I got it, and now settled down to being accurate within a few seconds a day.They need to break in like a car.

OEM leather strap indeed looks crappy. Rubber one looks better. Hope you can upgrade the level of the channel back to what it once was.
