I remember when they first started!! It didn't take long for them to shoot to the top!! Awesome vocals!! You would love their song Barracuda!!! Her voice in that song will blow your socks off!! Stay safe!!
For so long... drivng up and down Admiral Way, Alki Beach... all you would hear blaring from cars would be Heart singing this and every OTHER song from the 2 sisters... they are home grown! I miss Seattle!
Ann Wilson is one of the best female rock Singer of all time . Such a powerful voice. And her sister singing harmonies is fantastic. What a high pitch.
Nancy, the blonde, is only playing rythm guitar on this track. Howard Leese played all the lead guitar on this and all the songs after their Dog and Butterfly album. The footage is just a video for the song and not actual concert footage.
Ann Wilson is hands down my all time favorite female vocalist. She gives me chills when she hits those notes. If you want a funky hard rocking tune, I suggest “Straight On.” If you want another power ballad like this, I suggest “What About Love” or “These Dreams” which is sung by Ann’s sister Nancy.
Okay JV and I also must addlisten to the studio version of Love alive and then find live 1978 version of Love alive where Ann Wilson does a spectacular freaking flute solo at the beginning of the song which will give you chills and then her voice will give you even more
I feel exactly the same way. I think Ann has always been one of the most underrated voices in music. I mean she is appreciated by many but deserves WAY more accolades than she has received.
1987 my son was born in L.A.. tonight he's on a yacht (working) in the ICW of NC. He's transporting it, captain from Myrtle Beach to Cape Cod... I'm partial to 1987....
The rumour was that Magic Man was written about the insane killer, Charles Mason. That Nancy and Ann were part of The Manson Clan and some of the proceeds were given to his defense fund. No idea if it's true.
Oh man when she started with that high note and you were talking for a second when she was doing it you should have rewound it to listen to it again. Her voice is magical.
Ann Wilson is one of the best rock vocalists of the classic era. The '80s stuff is great, but I prefer the edgier and more raucous songs of the '70s. I would recommend "Magic Man" and "Crazy on You". While my personal favorite is "Magic Man", "Crazy on You" is an incredible showcase of the vocal talent of Ann Wilson. She has a booming voice, but still has great range and control. By the way, the woman on guitar, with the great backup vocals, is Ann's sister, Nancy Wilson.
Epic song, typically terrible 80's glam rock video...I love Heart and some of their music in the 80's was strong, but their earlier stuff really kills.
Have a look at heart singing led zeppelins stairway to heaven, with zeppelins late drummer John bonhams son Jason playing drums and the other Led zeppelin members in the audience. Best wishes from the UK.
This song is epic. "All I wanna do is make Love to you" by Heart is amazing as well. Also, I think you would really dig listening to Tracy Chapmans rendition of Stand By Me on David Letterman. I know you love Tracy.
@@Sassyglbeauty yeah same!!! The first song of theirs that I heard and loved!!! Cool story I actually sung that song at karaoke and won a $50 bottle shop voucher for my effort!! I was the winner of the whole night!!!
"Enchanting", that's a great word to describe Heart! I love your channel. The fact that you review 50's-80's, Dimash, etc is unique. I would really like to hear more 80's music. Along the lines of Duran Duran, Naked Eyes, Berlin, The Police, etc. Thank you and take care!
TBH Heart deserves to be talked about among the greats of the 70s and 80s.. right along with Zep and others. They were such an underrated band but Ann's voice is god like and Nancy is a damn good guitarist. Shame that while they had success they don't get the true respect they deserve. They have some iconic songs
Believe it or not, perhaps the best performance of "Stairway to Heaven" since Led Zeppelin played it at Madison Square Garden in 1973 (easily found on UA-cam) was by Heart at the Kennedy Center. I go back and watch it again and again and it never is not great!
Literally every song in their catalogue is amazing. Set focus on Little Queen- not the song, but the entire album. These gals play different string instruments and push those vocals. As a teenager, this band really helped me practice range, power, pulling back, etc, with my singing.
Nancy slays it as she slide forward on the stage and bends back over her legs and KEEPS playing, never misses a beat!!!!! Anyone else catch that action and solo???
I loved Heart!! Jammed this tape in my car blasting it..ah the memories. So many singers now a days and they don’t begin to compare to the vocals from the 80’s. Cept Rob Thomas. Swoon lol
That's me on lead guitar. JK, but I did have hair just like Nancy, the blond sister, probably around this same time.. It was the world's longest mullet. Haha.
These amazing women are sisters, Ann Wilson, lead vocals and Nancy Wilson vocals, guitars and keyboards. They are the bomb baby, true musicians, no auto tuning for them, just raw talent.
I can’t tell you how much I love your reactions! I always find myself watching your face instead of the video because you are so expressive. You make me smile. Thank you!
ann wilson the main vocalist has one of the most classic rock voices ever.and her sister nancy as well as being very easy on the eyes is a great guitarist and singer as well. one of my favorites is called'never' and i will give you the link if you want to listen:ua-cam.com/video/zWzy5q_M5Ho/v-deo.html
Yes definitely do the Kennedy Center Performance. Ann rocking it out on vocals. Nancy tearing up guitar rockin it. Vocal harmony legends. Can't get much better. These ladies rocked the 80s.
I absolutely love your reaction to this brilliant song and your reaction to all the music that you discover. I've always loved Alone by Heart. Keep up the good work. 👍
You want more female fronted rockers? Dolores O’Riordan from the Cranberries has the most haunting voice backed by saucy musicians who will put you in “the zone” ... my favorite track is Waltzing Back, but fan faves are Linger, Dreams, and Zombie. Enjoy!!
These sister are so great, they compliment one another. I can remember when they first came out, you heard them everywhere. They really do a great job with their tribute to Led Zepplin at the Kennedy center. Keep rocking ladies!!!
Ann Wilson (dark hair) is the lead singer of Heart. She plays piano. Nancy Wilson (blonde hair) is back up vocalist. She plays guitar. One of my favorite bands. I was lucky to see them in concert back in the 80s.
You should check out Suzi Quattro brutha! She has been quoted by many as their inspiration; such as Joan Jett, Debbi Harry, Melissa Etheridge. Many in America know her for her portrayal as teen “Leather Tuscadero” on Happy Days, but she was in her late 20’s portraying a teen. She was already a seasoned veteran of the rock and roll scene by then! My personal favorite is “Can the Can”!! Those outfits!
I grew up, listening to heart. I was a teenager when this song came out and I was freaking obsessed with it. I mean a teenage girl obviously this is like an anthem song!!! Lol
Their version of Tell It Like It Is pretty awesome. Also a song I have not seen reacted to is All The Young Dudes by Mott The Hoople, 1972 I believe. I think you and your fan base will appreciate it. Anyone from my era sure will. Thanks and you are correct, incredible voice.
Ann Wilson, the lead singer, got a lot of flack during this time because of her weight, and it was extremely hard on her. Funny thing is, I thought she was beautiful!! The fact that she could perform and sing like, this, just shows that she was in good health and could still kick ass musically. That's all that matters, is that she is healthy, but the critics really hounded her about that. and I always always hated that. It's about the music, and that's all it was ever about -- not looks, or image, or sex appeal. Ann Wilson still gave amazing performances and she was treated so judgmentally and unfairly
okay so Ann Wilson the lead singer of heart is a freaking force of nature you must listen to love alive and then Little Queen and then straight on and then dog and butterfly and then I could go on and on Anne Wilson also plays an incredible flute
I love your channel!!! Thank you for reacting!!! This is my favorite song by Heart!!!❤️❤️❤️ You should react to Love is a battlefield by Pat Benatar next!!!
J, you really have to react to the official video of “These Dreams”. It features Nancy on lead vocals and will blow you away. Many just discovering Heart give so much praise to Ann (rightfully so) but, Nancy’s vocals in harmonizing with her sister get’s lost. Please react and educate!
I love Bette, "Gift of love", "Every road leads back to you", "From a distance", "Wind beneath my wings" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy". Not to mention the movies she's been in.
“These Dreams” and “Stranded” are two of my favorite songs of theirs, I hope u will react to them eventually, the other good ones by them are “What about Love”, “All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You” and “I Didn’t Want To Need You”.....
I'm a stagehand and I've worked a lot of great bands over the years. Ann is the best live vocalist I've ever heard!
agree
I love Heart, Ann is one of the greats, when it comes to singers.
I remember when they first started!! It didn't take long for them to shoot to the top!! Awesome vocals!! You would love their song Barracuda!!! Her voice in that song will blow your socks off!! Stay safe!!

The Wilson sisters. Ann the lead singer. Nancy the lead guitars. Two of my childhood crushes
amazing group. saw them on y 21st and managed to get a plectrum from Nancy. love them so much.....
Ann Wilson the Greatest voices in all Music!! Also Nancy Greatest guitarist!!✌❤🤘🤘
Magic Man
In my opinion, the best female rock voice.
Second place to Floor Jansen.
Dick Van Dyke hell nah ur funny. Ann Wilson is #1
Tina Turner just gave y'all a side look. 🤨
Nix Mills different genre.
It's not opinion it's fact!
Ann Wilson is one of the best female rock Singer of all time . Such a powerful voice. And her sister singing harmonies is fantastic. What a high pitch.
She does have a very powerful voice, and yes it is enchanting, "What about love ", is another great song and video by Heart.
HEART-CRAZY ON YOU!!!!!!!!
Yes! That and Dreamboat Annie!
Yes! Totally!😆
You can't go wrong with anything from Heart, Ann Wilson is the Queen of female rock vocals!
Military Veteran bruh who’s number one then?
@@Bot23 uh that's gonna be a big no from me
@@Bot23 no way. Stevie Nicks sounds like a goat singing. She doesn't have nearly as much range as Ann.

Well, there is Floor. She even did a quite decent cover of this one :-)

One thing is Heart hates their mid-1980s material. If you notice they just play a stripped down version of this song.
Good song. Memories of 1987. Back when life was better.
I could not agree more gold.
1987 my son was born in L.A.. tonight he's on a yacht (working) in the ICW of NC. He's transporting it, captain from Myrtle Beach to Cape Cod... I'm partial to 1987....
1986 for me, but agree 100%
To my knowledge there are no female rock bands these days. Heart the best female rock band ever. Love them.
This was a cry into yr beer break up song for me when I was 16!
Ann Wilson best female vocalist in rock music ever. Ever.
Please check out "Magic Man"

Another badass female rockstar is Lita Ford, "Kiss Me Deadly" and "Close My Eyes Forever" with Ozzy Ossborne.

You should hear their cover of Stairway To Heaven. Ann Wilson got some pipes!
A few more worthy female led bands: Pat Benetar, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Pretenders and Eurythmics to name a few.
I agree with the person asking to react to them at the Kennedy centre honouring led zeppelin. It’s incredible
Must see!!
Neil MacLeod yes !! Blew me away
The other 100 musicians backing them helped a bit.
It was a team effort, not just them.
