    Great vid! Covers a ton of common issues. I wasn't aware of net contact outside of the antenna being okay. Contact over the other side of the next is also misunderstood a lot (disrupting others' set or own ball already over). Well done!

    Rule 13.2.5 is the stupidest rule in the book. You shouldn't be leaving it up to the ref's judgement. I hope to see it clarified in the upcoming revision of the rulebook.

    Quick Question, if you are blocking, on your way down you touch the net after the ball lands, Is that Legal or Illegal ?

    • @MartijnTV
      @MartijnTV 2 роки тому +1

      In normal volleyball at least illegal, because it is part of the (attempt to) block

      best to never hit the net :P

      If you attack and ball hits the opponents ground, then you hit the net. that's legal. As soon as the ball hits the sand, the play is over.

    i thought you couldnt set the 1st touch unless its a hard driven ball?

    • @SimasSkilinskas
      @SimasSkilinskas 4 місяці тому

      If it's hard driven you can catch it slightly without having catch fault called

    • @erinlewis4284

      I’ve seen some competitions/leagues have rules that say a serve is never hard driven. The idea is a hard driven ball is based on the reaction time of the defensive player, not the how hard the attacker hits the ball. ua-cam.com/video/OXQ-GVHGOBs/v-deo.htmlsi=TM5t00eQRncv3Fnn

      @@erinlewis4284 that is correct, serve will never be hard driven because there is too much time to react to the ball, because it's more than 8 meters away

    4:23 'Can open hand set any ball even the first ball'

    • @BVolleyballPraia
      @BVolleyballPraia 4 місяці тому

      The point 9.2.2.2 says about the first contact, not the first ball of the rally. Every time the ball enters the opponent's side, there is a first contact, so it is not possible to receive the ball with a set. This video is wrong.

    • @malcolm_in_the_middle
      @malcolm_in_the_middle 3 місяці тому +1

      @@BVolleyballPraia 9.2.2.2 is the only rule that makes reference to the first touch being judged differently if you use fingers. "During the first hit of the team if it is played overhand using fingers, the ball may NOT contact the fingers/hands consecutively, even if the contacts occur during one action."
      The context here is that you are usually given grace on doubles on the first touch (both indoor and beach), so if you dig the ball, and it bounces into your face and then goes up, that is counted as one touch. That grace doesn't apply if you use fingers on the first touch (beach only), so the same rules apply as regarding the second touch. The implication is that if you don't double the ball, then playing overhand using fingers is allowed on the first touch.
      The video is right, YOU are wrong.

    1:02 the rule says simultaneous, but the video shows consecutive contacts. In the video its right player => left player => antenna. So out of the left team, point to right.

    • @tsumyun62
      @tsumyun62 4 місяці тому +1

      its slowed down significantly. there is a short window where instead of the ref guessing its called simultaneous
