      @@BVolleyballPraia 9.2.2.2 is the only rule that makes reference to the first touch being judged differently if you use fingers. "During the first hit of the team if it is played overhand using fingers, the ball may NOT contact the fingers/hands consecutively, even if the contacts occur during one action." The context here is that you are usually given grace on doubles on the first touch (both indoor and beach), so if you dig the ball, and it bounces into your face and then goes up, that is counted as one touch. That grace doesn't apply if you use fingers on the first touch (beach only), so the same rules apply as regarding the second touch. The implication is that if you don't double the ball, then playing overhand using fingers is allowed on the first touch. The video is right, YOU are wrong.

    • @EricErocKAnderson
      @EricErocKAnderson 2 роки тому

      When the ball is close to the net, it is often very difficult to make a swing and follow through. Players will try to place the ball on the other side of the net with less force and the ball doesn't come off the hand clean. Using your knuckles to "poke" the ball on the other side of the court is a clean way to get the same result. When a player is farther off the net a swing will come off clean from your hand because of the follow through.
