my friend i literally been doing this for a while haha, do one better, no spending credits AT ALL, unless there's an event which no prize car can enter, then you may purchase whichever car you want to use in that event. I'm doing GT4 currently
really?? bro i'm playing gt4 and basically every car that i bought i have to upgrade cuz if the race are on the 120 a-spec pts or above, for me it's a lost race. maybe because i have no joystick and it's harder to brake propperly, dunno
You're forced to upgrade for a few races, you can't do rally events without the appropriate tires which don't come default on anything, you can't do the Speedster one make because they're on race tires and will destroy you without mercy if you don't have race tires yourself (at the minimum, you probably need a few upgrade on top of that), the Alpine one make is horribly hard to complete without upgrades (iirc you just barely can by racing really dirty and resetting till the A110 aren't in the grid or at the very least are in the back) and there's probably a couple other one make races I forgot which are very hard to complete without upgrade, there's a sort of trap with the supercar festival which you can utterly destroy with the NSX LM Road Car but will be almost impossible with anything else if you don't upgrade (SLR just barely can if the grid is friendly and you drive dirty)
If we take beating GTWC as the ultimate goal, it's totally doable. If you know where to go, the game is pretty generous with pre-tuned race cars, which open up other events for more cars. GTWC itself however, will be pain without buying harder tyres, since for example a Minolta on Racing Mediums has to pit about twice as often as the AI.

At some point you were like GT fan version of Kuru lol. Also, I have 2 suggestions for GT4 : - Beat the game / progress as much as possible with just B-Spec. Because B-Spec will struggle harder than you, even if you give him a fast car. So maybe that will add some challenge to the game. You still allowed to do Licences, but not missions and special conditions. However, I'm not really sure if that will be entertaining to watch (but maybe seeing your driver can't overtake can add some reactions to your face lol) - Try to progress while only have one car in your garage. So the idea is, that every time you have 2 or more cars in your garage, you have to choose one car to keep while selling the rest. Because it's kinda weird to having like 50+ cars in your garage
Haha this reminds me of when I was like 5 and was terrible at GT4 and the furthest I made it at one point was managing to get a camaro and using B-spec to win a bunch of races. Don't remember how far I made it but would be very interesting to see what's possible.
If you know how to dial in your cars, you'll get through the whole game by letting B-Spec-Bob take the wheel. You won't win every race, but you'll certainly win the overall championship (after a few retries because Bob can be special sometimes).
@@Donnerwamp Oh, talking about championship, I should have added that he not allowed to qualifiying (or known as "Practice"), since he can just get the pole position and let B-Spec-Bob do the rest
@@m.raihanammarfachrezixpplg7898 I'd say that's already out of question because the challenge is to use ONLY B-Spec. In addition to that, you can't do the licenses by only using B-Spec and without a license you can't run qualifying in pretty much any championship where it'd be necessary/helpful.
This is what I remember about GT3, which was one of my most favourite racing games of all time; having to think hard about which car to buy, which car to upgrade, based on race series available, planning carefully and being made to earn those prize cars. This is what I always did when I played this game growing up. I’ve never stuck it out to beat the whole game because I get sidetracked, but I got to the F1 cars at least. I got gold in all of the licenses up until IA, so that carried me a good ways through.
Happy to see these “can you beat” challenges done with GT3, my favorite game ever! Revisited the game back in late 2020, took me a while to beat it regularly, the content here was incredible. Perhaps you could try a challenge on this game, but like, only Japan cars, EU cars, etc? Just an idea tho.
29:30 God man, this specific one was such a nightmare to do iirc. It's an all F1 league and if you had the NTSC versions of the game where you had 4 different F1 cars with 4 different performance values, you were either screwed or dominating depending on which one you had. It didn't help that there were a ton of laps too. I think I almost lost my sanity trying to gold this with the Mclaren Honda based F1 car on NTSC in black.
Not really, GT3 are a successful until this time. I mean, All of some GT games are really good. Of course it's really famous until this time, and not kinda underrated yet. You know what because why? This game are PlayStation Exclusive.
Such a fun game! iirc, oil changes gave minimal boost to HP if done from factory. My favourite thing to do in this game was to modify the aero settings of a racecar with high top speed and aero capabilities (works best imo with the Toyota GT-One Race car) in such a way that the car wheelies and you can achieve theoretically infinite top speeds. All you have to do is maximise downforce on the rear (maybe change gear settings and suspension but I don't exactly remember). If you're bored one day its worth it for the lols. Cheers for the video! Nice little throwback :)
Next do a solo Manufacturer Challenge, you only get 1 (or 2 in the case of Honda) dealer to pick vehicles from. Upgrades are allowed and any car that’s not from your chosen dealer must be sold
Oh.my.god. This makes sense now. I used to play my uncles ps1 with gt, gt2, then gt3 on ps2.. I never understood as a little kid, that you can upgrade your car. So I always used whatever car was in the garage. I didn't want to spend his money (in game) as to not disrupt his playthrough. I would constantly have to qualify to get further up the starting positions then try again. Makes sense why the gt games are so easy for me on the controller. Unknowingly forcing myself to grind with handicaps.
The GT mode in these games were always very flexible and allowed you to approach things in different ways. That's what made this mode very good and the grind made you feel accomplished when you finally got the cars you wanted. GT7 is kind of weak on the grind, you get a free car like pretty much every race in that game lol.
The most difficult event in all of GT3 for me was the professional Yaris cup, that stuff came straight out of hell. I tried every version of the Yaris but I would constantly fail on Route 11 because of tire wear while opponents pass you like nothing is wrong with their tires. I needed so much tweaking on the best version Yaris I could get my hands on and I believe I used different sets of tires on both the front and rear in order to win that stage.
I remember GameShark modding the hell out of this game back in 2002. I had one of the F1 cars modded to 1600hp and the longest possible gearing. It was insanely OP. I modded a Miata to 17,000hp as well at it was completely un-drivable. Good times.
Bro you absolutely inspired me to play GT4 with your video about beating the game with used cars only. And this is also absolutely gold. Great content man! :)
This was fun to watch, GT3 has always been my favourite in the series. Only thing I wish you did different was not use save states to get the preferred prize car each time, but that would have just made it more grindy
This playthrough shows off exactly what I love about GT. You *could* grind the Sunday cup for days on end, but if you experiment with the cars and events available you can get cars that open up new opportunities for new events and more new cars. I realize that I probably would have had a much smoother playthrough if I bothered to get something from the dealership instead of dumping all my upgrades into a low-power car. In hindsight, this challenge could probably be completely invalidated getting the F1 from Roadster Endurance, which forces you to enter with a stock MX-5... But that invalidates literally the entire game, so where's the fun in that?
The easiest way to do this is to either get the mx5 1.8 rs from the convertible challenge and go do the roadster endurance event to get the f1 car from there boom two events and you can already beat the game
All these years and I had no idea you could quality in GT. Well, out of the PS2 games I only really played 4 properly and I can't recall ever using that feature in that even though it supposedly exists
When possible always buy a Viper. Also the Spoon racing S2000 is heavenly, for a bonus get golds in the first license for the road going Spoon S2000, which pleasantly destroys the early races with it's handling.
I never played Gran Turismo with more cars tuned to the max, I usually used cars as is (with a few upgrades to stay competitive). I liked the challenge of a hard race, with all my races. P.S. I kinda wondered if that was the point of the fun? But also love how you can play these games the way you want, super upgraded cars or not at all if you want
This was so sick and fun to watch, same for the GT4 one! Noticed on Twitch that you got a 360, would love to see something for Project Gotham 4 and Forza Motorsport 4! No pressure ofc, just would be cool! Anyways, promoted to hitting the bell instead of just being subbed, saw this vid WAY too late.
I fucking love the catfish Camaros. I like them so much more than all the fat bois they've launched since they took the time off when they stopped them after this model year. 95-05 really were some absolute golden years for iconic/beautiful cars man. Probably the best decade in the history of cars tbh.
Can you beat it without upgrades? Hardly, since there is a Pro Yaris cup and the second Evo cup and those mf are FAST + Pro FF can be done with Xsara versus Spoon Civic
Can you beat GT3 without tuning? Well, if you consider the game finished with finishing all GT championships: Then yeah. If you want to beat it 100%: Nope, never, forget it! The biggest challenge would be the Professional Yaris Challenge. Every Yaris is fully tuned and equipped with Racing tyres.
Love these videos, I feel like most people skip over classics like this so to see you playing this game is refreshing, also what equipment do you use to get the hd gameplay? Is it an emulator or some things plugged into your ps2
Just imagine if Gran Turismo games were made in the old style. Every time i see a video of a racing game like GT games from the good old days, i wonder what went wrong? When i see racing games to day.
3:03 As someone who used to buy Fiat 500 in Gran Turismo 2 and being completely oblivious to Japanese used cars... I don't know what you're talking about.
Monaco does look really good in this game, but that didn't really justify a 78-lap race against other Fomula 1 cars _and_ a 100-lap endurance race with non-racing cars only (iirc) 😭
Both the endurance race “Mistral 78” and the Formula GT race are 78 laps, and the endurance race is against LMP and some of the cars seen in the “dream car” championship
i've played this game for many years, it is impossible, i repeat, IMPOSSIBLE, to complete the game without upgrading your car, cause trust me, you're gonna need some upgrades on your cars, and take my word of advice, put super slicks on EVERY car so you don't have to deal with bad tire wear

10:50 you can. I did it. (with savestates) and it is absolute hell.
That Yaris cup is still a pain even with a tuned car

This was so sick and fun to watch, same for the GT4 one!
Noticed on Twitch that you got a 360, would love to see something for Project Gotham 4 and Forza Motorsport 4! No pressure ofc, just would be cool!
Anyways, promoted to hitting the bell instead of just being subbed, saw this vid WAY too late.
G Damm I spent so much of my life here. Especially doing all the endurance races multiple times
I need more challenge vids, their so interesting
I fucking love the catfish Camaros. I like them so much more than all the fat bois they've launched since they took the time off when they stopped them after this model year. 95-05 really were some absolute golden years for iconic/beautiful cars man. Probably the best decade in the history of cars tbh.
Monaco GP is official GP track. There's probably high license cost they must pay to include it in game.
Can you beat it without upgrades?
Hardly, since there is a Pro Yaris cup and the second Evo cup and those mf are FAST
+ Pro FF can be done with Xsara versus Spoon Civic
Without qualifying some of the races are simply impossible the leader just checks out while you fight traffic.
Amazing video m8! Great racing.
Awesome challenge man! Great video as well
Love these videos, I feel like most people skip over classics like this so to see you playing this game is refreshing, also what equipment do you use to get the hd gameplay? Is it an emulator or some things plugged into your ps2
An emulator, it’s called PCSX2 :)
@@DustinEdenYT that’s what I figured, Ty for responding
0:42 took me 2 seconds to realize this is not GT7
The skies look so good in GT3
When I was a kid, this is how I always unknowingly played gt games
Btw it is possible to do the Yaris challenge in the stock Yaris, plus the Beginner World championship. I know this because I've actually done it
Technically racing tires have less endurance than standard.
Awesome video Eden!
Thanks!
Just imagine if Gran Turismo games were made in the old style. Every time i see a video of a racing game like GT games from the good old days, i wonder what went wrong? When i see racing games to day.
All about the graphics, 50% game and the rest of the game in paid DLC's
polyphony digital cup would actually not be changed in this challenge.
I did this when I was a kid, it was pretty easy if you knew how to get lmp cars pretty early on
(The escudo HARD carried me ngl)
I didn't even know Monaco was in GT3
I almost never did upgrades aside from sports exhaust or suspension so I always played GT games like this.😂
this was the pinnacle of racing games
The MX5 which cost 17,000 credits is actually the *slower* 1.6 version of the NA MX5.
The one costing 16,900 has a larger 1.8 16v engine
I always used a Base Subaru WRX Max tuned it and Won all Ralley Events with it Easy Money.
the S13 has a cult following!

This guy is like the wirtual of gran tourismo
i've played this game for many years, it is impossible, i repeat, IMPOSSIBLE, to complete the game without upgrading your car, cause trust me, you're gonna need some upgrades on your cars, and take my word of advice, put super slicks on EVERY car so you don't have to deal with bad tire wear
Do you think you could win the MX5 @ Laguna endurance race with stock tires? If so you just win that get F1 car win every thing.
i will always be an advocate forza corner movements in single player racing games and there’s nothing you can tell me to change my mind
The R390 GT1 Race car is very OP
GT3 was well made back in the day and I really prefer this over GranTurismo 7.
Love your content!
10:40 DustinEden We Got This New Cars For Vitz Color Pink Meme 😂
My knowledge says yes but a few races will be very difficult.
8:56 Initial D time 😂🔥🔥🔥
Nah that's 14:22.
Too bad i didnt get to see the Suzuki Escudo. My favorate car in GT2 and GT3 by far❤️
