Dude, 9:07-9:30 is the Gran Turismo experience in a nutshell. That is exactly why I play these games more than any other sim. I don’t get the kind of adrenaline rush from what I thought was an impossible task but hours later finally beating it than I do from Gran Turismo
A-4 in the original GT. The times were a little different (due to a shorter length), and you were using an R33 Skyline instead of the R32. But damn, the satisfaction of completing the gold time on that test. I have done it once, and it was amazing to finally pull it off.
Currently trying to get gold on all GT4 licenses. Everything has been smooth up until THIS SAME EXACT TEST, A-13. So far it has taken me 3 days so far!
I have an actual challenge for Eden, which is a "rammingless" and "grassless" challenge, where you're not supposed to ram the other drivers, and shouldn't go out of the track. If you do, you reset the race. That one might actually be impossible
This challenge was impossible to complete from the get go anyway, but you are able to get incredibly close if you do it all correctly. The only car you would have to buy is a Mercedes-Benz as there's no event which gives you one as a prize car. That being said, I understand Eden's frustration, as GT3 was padded out to be LOOOOOOOOOONG as fuck. The closest me and my dad got to getting 100% was the Tuscan Cup, and we were already struggling when we got to GT All-Stars... and even then, the Super License was a pain to get.
I can confirm for the Mercedes. I double-checked neoseeker's GT3 page that said the CLK Touring Car can be won with the Coliseum Endurance Race. The only cars that can be won are the Zonda Race Car, the Vertigo Race Car, the Delta Rally Car, and an F1. I was trying to do this challenge in parallel with a 100% completion goal, but I guess I'll have to buy a car for the Silver Arrows and the Tuscan Cup unfortunately.
If you don’t count the dumbass complex test string challenges then you can go through it pretty quickly. I beat all of the campaign in about 2 weeks casually.
You could buy a Mercedes win the Mercedes from the beginner event and then win both with that. It doesn't make the idea of beating the game with Prize Cars only true but theoretically it could be done in that case.
8:35 Some tests were an absolute pain to gold, I assure you. Especially the one of the green 90's Camaro in the turn in Seattle after the three jumps, I missed the gold time by one millisecond *TWICE.* And by less than 10 several times.
Yep, that one sucked. I managed to 100% GT3 recently for the first time and I got gold on all the licence tests (PAL version, too). That Seattle one sucked way too hard. It required absolute perfection.
@@blobbem Yeah, it was hella painful, just imagine you forget to save after succeding. The difficulty that the game should have in the races is all embedded into the license tests in general and that mission in particular. Even the last one of the Toyota GT-One Road in Côte d'Azur is easier, you just need to use the manual transmission and there you have your gold time.
I always thought complex string just looks like a track a developer threw together in a few hours as a test track during development, but they just kept it in the real game for some reason
Great CBT, this one brings back memories. My brother and i used to have you a rule that we cant start career until we didnt gold all the licenses at every playthrough. so yeah. it was a pain in the ass every time
I remember tackling this challenge on GT3 about 2 years ago on an emulator. No buying cars and no tuning upgrades. It's brutal...but man is it a lot of fun. I'm shocked at just how much of the game you can complete. Props for taking a stab at it.
This should absolutely qualify as practical driving experience toward your license, if you ever get one. You should at least get a discount - €1500 off, maybe?
Man I LOVED GT3, one thing holding you back is TCS and ASM it REALLY kills your lap times especially in the early (slower ) cars. This really take me back I used to play this game to DEATH in Highschool. The funny thing is I almost NEVER bought cars for most races (especially the lame ones) because i was a CHEAP @$$ and would just use the Prize cars with little or no modification to save money for my REAL dream cars it helps balance out the stingy prize money XD
Well, you are incredibly wrong about that, try play it 1st and you will realize that you still need to BUY some cars because there are no 2nd hand cars on some races you need and you should buy it no matter what rule is. The only exception is you only need to finish certain races, not the entire races as usual.
@richardbhagan8949 Actually, that's not quite true. There is one event in the game that gives a truck as a prize! ....... the problem is that it's the race you need a truck for in the first place.
I tried to do this at one point because of an old forum post I found about this. I didn’t beat it but I got pretty far into it, nice to see you do it too!
It is worth mentioning you can get a mercedes touring car from the rome 2 hr endurance so the 3 cars you bought (mercedes, altezza, type r) can all be prizes. The grind is still pain but it is possible.
lol the earlier prize cars the game gave out were all in Initial D. This is more because those cars are famous instead of being related to the manga/anime series but it is still a highly entertaining coincidence.
As someone who has completed Professional League over the span of months of on and off play, I can say it's definitely not worth it unless you really just want the unique car colors that usually are given as prizes. The F1 specific cup in that league is a special mention on how absolutely painful it is too. Out of all the races that "???" one at the end that is the Formula cup is the one event that broke me and made me stop playing the game for a good while the first time. It was soo frustrating.
The only car you actually need to buy to 100% the game is the TVR Tuscan, all the other cars you need for manufacturer events can be won. The CLK touring car can be won from the 2HR rome endurance
The challenge with only road cars im down to watch dude. Growing up i was always a Playstation dude so this was my go to racing game since GT1 way back in the day. I dont remember what once I've owned but I 100% all of them from all gold on licenses to all gold on cups.

1:52 When you said that I knew this man had not remembered the 'Legend of Silver Arrow' event. Classic Mercedes, ruining everything lol 🤣 Regarding Professional League in GT3 - I think it can be fun if you stick to the 3-race events. They normally take anywhere from 45 mins to 1 hour to complete, not short but not crazy long either, and you can get some pretty awesome prize cars so I think they're worth trying out. The championships on the other hand require a real time investment so don't attempt them unless you're super committed to GT3. Most of the one-make championships are just garbage, don't bother unless you want a specific prize car or are gunning for 100% completion. 10 laps of the Test Course in a Yaris (and no emulator speed-up) is psychological warfare as far as I'm concerned 😬
Most hilarious video I've seen on this channel! Also i have a suggestion you should play Test Drive Eve of Destruction (It's called Driven to Destruction in Europe), it's a super underrated gem that barely anybody talks about - basically imagine Wreckfest but in a semi-open world environment and there's a really good variety of different gamemodes.
A no spending run is impossible purely thanks to the Vitz championships. Prize car Vitz's give you a small horsepower increase over buying one from a dealer, but theirs no way of beating the AI espescially in professional Vitz championship unless you max out the car in the tune shop.
2nd comment. I am pretty sure you can get a DTM Mercedes CLK from the 2 hour Rome endurance, which you can use in the Silver Arrow races. You can also get a Type R Honda from the professional FF cup. A Spoon Civic Type R to be exact And the Altezza LM can be won from the professional Yaris cup. So all the cars needed can be obtained as prize cars ;)

For Type R Meeting, you could win Spoon Civic Type R from FF Challenge in Professional League. For Clio Cup though, you'd have to win it in Super Speedway Endurance (25% to get it).
I got one for you for midnight club 3. The Tokyo prize car challenge. You start in tokyo, and you primarily only use prize cars from the tokyo tournaments. The Toyota GT-One Roadcar is technically a 100% road legal registerable street car, so whilst if you pulled up next to me in my MR2 for an MR challenge I'd be pivved, I'd still have to agree it's technically 100% kosher to run the roadcar only challenge with the Toyota GT-One [so long as it isn't the liveryed racer]
I've never really played GT3. Spent so much time playing GT2 and GT4 it's so surprising to see how much GT3 is similar to GT2, as opposed to GT4, which feels like a completely new game.
