Someone stole my phone and used apple pay literally next the police station. when I went to report it they said there was nothing they could do about it because I had reported it to another police station. They wouldn't even go next door to get the camera footage. (in SA)

Everytime a cop pulls a gun he or she has to fill out a report and god help you if a polic officer fires it-they'll fill out paperwork for months. However-when it comes to knives I've heard of police not charging people who chased them with knives because they couldn't be bothered reporting it. No idea how common that approach is though.

One thing that is common across the videos is how they act after deploying their firearms. Almost every time the officer is almost crying, begging them not to make them shoot. If you’ve never heard a grown man almost cry while adrenaline is glowing… it really is hard. I also like it because you see how dumb people can be. Sometimes the officer will be totally fine with little things if you’re just honest. Or they’ll be funny making playful jokes with the person to help reduce the tension. The thing that sucks is so often those police end up being tricked into false safety and the subject pulls a gun. Also watching body camera footage, completely unedited is really helpful when there’s some major controversy. Having someone cut out certain things or pause it to talk over the video changes the pace of everything and can make one’s opinion very bias. This is a huge issue as many people have “seen” video that caused major outcry, but not a lot of people have seen the situation unedited.
