He also wrote another great 3 part story called 'Money Game'. He won a bunch of awards for the 3rd part of the story. I'd recommend watching them in order.
The 1st was his first foray into turning a music video into a live play/performance... It's a 1 take... I think it took 147 tries or something insane like that. Part 3 is from this year, and only took a few takes... You gotta experience the growth!
Am placing another vote for your Ren video to be "chalk outlines (live)". It will be a great gateway introduction to Chinchilla who will, hopefully, be another rabbithole to explore. If you're feeling a bit curious and want to investigate her solo stuff, I recommend "1:5 (live)" and "Little Girl Gone "
I agree. You should certainly see Chalk Outlines. His duet with Chinchilla is beautiful. This is actually my favorite song of his because I can relate to it due to experiences I've had in the past. He puts the situation to eloquent words that I never could.
Everyone should take the time to listen to at least one of Liya's songs! Troubles tells his life story. Chalk Outlines gives an idea of his vocal talents, but mostly showcases the excellent chemistry he has in a duet setting The Hunger highlights all of his technical rapping abilities And Blind Eye has a bit of all of the above.
I wrote in the Hi Ren comments section that your reaction Impressed me and I enjoyed your music as well. Well I had to comeback this time to say WOW! I'm a retired actor and I adore Ren because he's so versatile and everything he touches is fresh and artistic, merging and bending genre's. It's a rewarding rabbit hole and the way your feeling after experiencing & appreciating Ren's work, is allowing me to re-experience that through your gorgeous eye's. So thank you luv! ❤ P.S - Wait until you get to Money Game 3, 🤯Ren just won 🏆Best Music Video, 🏆Best Director, 🏆Best Concept at the 2024 London Music Video Awards.😉
As a person who worked in the music industry for a majority of my life at record stores, putting up promotional displays for various outlets and working for music product distribution companies, I appreciate your perspective on the genius of Ren's artistry. I wish you nothing but the best on your journey through your endevours of your music career.
Hi again Liya, We Renegades call this Rencore, just like the Bards of old, they told stories that were the news of the time, an awakening for the public. The rabbit hole of Ren runs deep and wide, and his abilities are like a flowing stream. Keep up the good work on your own talents, you have a beautiful voice.
Great reaction; between the rawness and the splendid narration, Ren makes one of his masterpieces. While it envelops us in a Shakespearian trilogy, it hypnotizes us at the same time. The terrible cycle of violence. Ren also gives us small clues between great metaphors: Jenny, silent and her silent mother; Screech, we imagine her father in jail and her mother dead. Surely he was in foster homes and then wandering the streets. Brothers are born next to each other, brothers die next to each other. Magnificent reaction, you have managed to capture, not only Ren's abilities, but the story itself. Congratulations!
Cant think of an artist as versatile as ren, wait till you hear him really rap he is up their with the best of them not to mention his band the big push, when he collaborates he brings the best out of people around him and morphs to fit in every pocket, i haven't heard anything yet that didnt drop my jaw.... in the last year he has become my all time favorite artist. ❤
I'm not a big fan of rap but a big fan of Ren. His song The Hunger really blew my mind at not only how versatile he is but how he excels at every form of art he does. Alot of his music has great emotional resonance and storytelling but his rap game is so good you wouldn't expect one individual to be so damn good at everything he touches.
I LOVE that you commented on the "WHERRRRE did he go?" You're only the second reactor I've seen catch that. It really is an underappreciated part of this whole trilogy / work of art.
Ren (back on 74/message in a bottle) retake. Ren's voice will melt you like butter along with his 2 beautiful back up singers, he is a beast on his Fender Telecaster and he is pure stud. This one was done only about 6 months ago. He is yummy. 😊
Loved your reaction. No, we really don't want to see you cry but if you do, we'll relate because every one of us did the felt the same thing. Ren posted yesterday asking if it was time for another tale. I think we all yelled a resounding YES! simultaneously. 🥰 Keep journeying down the rabbit hole. There are so many other amazing aspects of Ren's talent for you to discover.
Hi Liya, I really am enjoying your thoughtful reactions, your insight and knowledge are great, and you may now be my favourite music reactor. I am looking forward to seeing your reaction's to Ren's more mainstream music and covers 'Ren - Back on 74 / Message In A Bottle' or 'Ren X Chinchilla - Chalk Outlines (live)'. But I will be here whatever you decide to react to.
@@knownasliyai second all of the above, ren and chinchilla together are just incredible even their upbeat busking duets make my non existing allergies flair up and I get misty eyed they are perhaps better together than individually which is mind boggling. ❤🤘
Your reactions are spot on!! And you are right about Ren's ability to act and tell a story. Ren is great at rapping. Great at singing. Great at creating music! But if I had to pick what he is best at it's his story telling and acting, and those two things help him in all his songs and performances
Ren refers to his music as 'Bardcore'. I can picture him as a medieval type of bard with a guitar strapped over his shoulder traveling from tavern to tavern. It's fitting that that he wrote this modern Shakespearian style tragedy.
Try this one for an additional view of Rens amazing assortment of talent. Ren and The Big Push - I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop. It's a FUN street performance with his old band.
Awesome reaction, prefect pauses and analysis without interrupting the flow of the story and your display of emotions throughout till the end, priceless; great job! Ren is truly one of a kind.
She's particularly good at choosing when to pause. Some reacters are horrible at it. During one reaction to The Big Push cover of I Shot the Sheriff, the two teachers paused in the middle of Axisa's solo to talk about the guitar.😖
It's so fun to see people reacting to this. In the beginning they are all happy and cheerful, and then they just keep getting more serious. :D Also love the "sound design" on Violets Tale, so well done.
Crying and feeling things while saying “wow” is kind of a staple of watching REN’s videos. Money Game is a great series to look at, but if you want a palette cleanser, check out Back on 74, or Power, or some of his other videos. Can’t wait to see more reactions from you!
I'm 56 and this blew me away. Tears and emotions hit in droves. All one takes and Samuel Flavey filming is so good with no money at all. The neighbours shouting at first they had to take some retakes. Seen so many reactions now but always good to see people blown away. Ren did some videos to begin with and Screech stole his phone. Then uploaded to UA-cam lol. It nearly backfired as friends blocked Ren and subscribers to. UA-cam were going to shut him down 🤣 Something good next. Chalk Outlines with Chinchilla. Losing It the Fisher retake for flows 😁👍 Great reaction ❤️🙏
great reaction Liya, its nice to see someone actually pick up on so much and be thoughtful and appreciate what your watching rather than say what you think you should say. you are in for such a great time. He had a band before he went to Canada called 'The Big Push', he's done some great collabs with Chinchilla which you should check out. and also Money Game 1 (official video), Money Game 2 ( LYRIC VIDEO) and then Money Game Part 3. Just know whatever you choose we will watch with you and you wont be disappointed.
Hi Liya - So pleased you reacted to this one next. A great reaction btw.... you combine your natural empathy with your musical observations perfectly. I used to work for Social Services in London for a charity... and sadly this trilogy reflects societal issues in many places around the world.... including London. FYI - Ren has been performing on the streets of Brighton and there are so many videos that recorded him doing this. As a solo artist and also in duets and also with a band. You should check some of them out. There are so many to choose from. Some of his duets with Liv are wonderful. But I first recommend something he performed with the band "The Big Push" (they do covers as well as originals). If you have the time of course.... A really interesting one, is the cover of the Bob Marley track "I shot The Sheriff", recorded live and available on "The Big Push" UA-cam channel. Thanks again for your awesome reactions. PS. I have good friends in South Africa who do reactions during live streams. Would it be ok to react to one of your own songs (or covers) please? If so, which one would you recommend? (FYI... most of the viewers are rock fans lol)
Great Reaction I think Chalk Outlines (Live) with Chinchulla is a perfect follow up to these. Ren has so many songs both by himself in duets and with his previous band The Big Push evry song is different every Genre is covered from Reggae to Blues to Rap to Doo wap ect....
Great reaction. Don't worry about pausing. If someone wants to watch the video uninterrupted, they can go to the original. I have to say, after your emotional reaction to Jenny and Screech, I really wanted to warn you about Violet's Tale. Of the three, it's the one that hits me the hardest, maybe because I've known women who were abused
The amount of reactors who say Ren should make a movie or do his own " Broadway " style stage production really amuses me. Personally, I believe the strength of Ren's amazing creative story telling, in song, is that he can condense a whole " Movie " into around 15 minutes, maintain the listener / viewer's attention all the way through, keep them invested and animated whilst the story plays out perfectly in their imagination ..... This is the strength of Ren's artistry and creativity. His ability to grip his audience and make them feel like they have just watched a 2 hour Hollywood Blockbuster is testament to his true creative genius. I am 63 years old. I have been a singer songwriter since my teenage years and I have never witnessed anyone, in that time, who can match Ren for his mastery of so many artistic skills. Great reaction video. 🙏
We recommend because it is a perfect showcase for Bardcore... and we were sure your thoughtfulness would let you understand the dynamic in the end. I have heard so many therapists watch this and comment on the sadness and hopelessness in regard to the main characters... but never the same understanding for what the abusers probably experienced themselves to turn them into abusers. If our main characters had survived...statistics show they would have continued the cycle. This is meant to illustrate generational dysfunction in all its tragedy and horror.
I watch Jenny, Screech & Violet reactions all the time not only because I think the storytelling is absolutely amazing but because of that bombshell at the end Ren drops on everyone and it never ceases to amaze me just how people react to how their own entire world is ripped apart in a split second from jamming along to an super melancholic song to BAM! Jaw dropping reactions every time haha, I love it! RENegade for life! :D
You are on a whole journey now that youve entered the world of ren, haha. If you wanna cry then watch Chalk Outlines or For Joe. I also wanna point out that in Jenny's tale, "her intuitions bugging her and making her so scared', its said twins can sometimes share intuition so its like she knew screech was around and up to no good. Great vid!
You had the same reaction as me toward the end. I gasped at the fact it was twins as I wasn’t expecting violet to be anything to do with Jenny and Screech so when he revealed they were twins & violet was their mother, my jaw double dropped. Speechless. I discovered Ren a month ago myself and haven’t stopped watching other people react to this since. It’s the only way I can slightly feel the experience of watching it for the first time again.
Great reaction video. I will throw in my two cents and say that "Chalk Outlines" and "How to be Me" -- both collabs with Chinchilla -- are spectacular. I can't wait to see you react to them.
Exactly! Semi-occluded vocal tract warm-up! You are only the 2nd reactor who recognized that. He is portraying a minstrel who's preparing for his performance. He warms up his voice, clears his throat & begins. Ren always pins the lyrics so you can bring them up & not have to deal with the horrible UA-cam ones.
I think that people wanted you to react to this because it is, as you know, a masterpiece, not because of the traumatic content. You are perceptive enough to pick up many of the gems contained in this trilogy. I am not usually a fan of pausing but you always have interesting details to share. Oh God I envy you as you have so much more Ren to discover. Now, I am going to watch your "Hi Ren" reaction. Thank you Liya. I enjoyed watching this reaction. If you want to see the lighter sider of Ren try some of his rapping like "Murderer" or "Losing It".
Ren tells the stories and the filming of the stories are all done so well i found myself looking for the bodies laying on the ground. The saddest thing about this is the fact each of these things are happening in every country at this very moment and the cycle continues
Were just addicts. we cant see ren for the first time again, so we have to do it vicariously. So thanks for watching it so we can go along with you on your first time journey. As for reactions and future videos, Rens kind of like the weather, if you dont like it just wait and itll change. Hes a phenomenal story teller, artist, rapper etc so pick your flavor he has something of all types.
Just found your channel and am really enjoying your music too! Remember Ren has some really upbeat irreverent songs too in addition to his deep ones and amazing rapping and singing across the whole range. He will make you laugh, blush, cry, and think.
Loving your channel and your reaction style and appreciation of this almighty talent. Back on 74 shows Ren's soul, Chalk Outlines LIVE is stunning and I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop ( Red Braces version ) with his band The Big Push is a different level.
More Ren! The Money Game parts 1, 2, and 3 are their own masterpieces. His 'new' album Sick Boi has some less heavy music, like 'Uninvited' and 'Down with the Beat'.
Loved your reaction!! Heads up for the other songs he sings that pull out emotions by Ren are "how to be me" and "chalk outlines" with Chinchilla(live versions are best). Also "For Joe" and Suicide.
You want to see his videographer you should watch "Power", I find that tune fun and uplifting. Movie vibe, "Animal Flow" filmed as a single shot video with his friends in a friends apartment building, it's like Rens re-imagining of George Orwells Animal Farm. A strong Live callab would be "How to be Me" one of my faves which he did with Chinchilla, another independent great singer. They also did 'Chalk Outlines Live but how to be i believe is there strongest one. There is just so much to choose from. You do know his last album "Sic Bio" hit number one in the U.K. charts and had never been played on the radio. Then there is the Money Game series 1, 2, 3. Money Game 3 Just won best video in Europe that was also done live and one take. His Pen game is very strong, he makes his own beats, writes his own music, plays guitar, bass, and piano. Let alone before he had to go to Canada last year for treatment the band he was in The Big Push were a well known busking band in Brighton, England. You have a lot to choose from so good luck and looking forward to your reactions to his material.
I was waiting for those 10,000 more "wow's". I'd suggest Ren and Sam Tompkins Blind Eyed MC Sessions if you don't want to cry and either Back on 74/Message in a bottle or Dominos, though Dominos might bring out some tears.
Probably my favorite reaction to the Tales and I've seen too many to count. I was late to discover Ren, several months after Hi Ren was released. Since then I've searched for any of his content I could find and have never been disappointed by any song. He has duets with many artists, my two favorites are How To Be Me ft. Chinchilla and Crutch ft. Bibi. The bands he's been in, Trick the Fox and The Big Push are great as well. You can't go wrong reacting to anything in his catalog. I'd suggest the two I mentioned and his song Dominoes. Good luck with your music and artistry and enjoy the Ren rabbit hole. ☮️
Great reaction! i don't know if you take suggestions here but i would recommend: ren - back on 74 / message in a bottle. its one of his more recent videos and showcases how talented musically he is and its a more uplifting song.
His songs are powerful on multiple levels so seeing the reactions from individuals like you make the song come alive for us all each time, AND you get further exposed to Ren's masterfully written and performed ONE TAKE videos and songs. Good job!!
You know,, I was kind of expecting you to break down crying at the end bit, but I really like that your actual reaction was to laugh a little bit, in awe. Like "holy crap, that just happened." That's a good reaction, too.
He is not afraid to take up hard topics head on. This is a powerful statement about abuse and generational violence. Something way way too common, but taboo to talk about. Powerful stuff!
Your reactions are great! Enjoy the ride that is REN - he does every genre and does them all better than most. He is a modern Shakespeare. That said, your songs are great too!
I've watched a ton of reactions to this, but you are the first to call out some things that others don't comment on: the cry on "wheeeeere did he go", with the crack and the bend, is one of my favorite moments. It disconnects us a bit- we're now thinking of Screech, who isn't a singer, instead of Ren, who is. It's a "screech," perhaps. It's a really cool musical choice too, because it's grating, wrong, like a discordant or "missed" note- but it's so intentional. It's really, really cool, and I'm glad you called it out.
Appreciate your reaction to this song. This is a VERY SAD tale; But, what I LOVE the MOST about "The Tale of Jenny and Screech" is that in the end it points out that Jenny and Screech were siblings. This gave me insight into Ren's compassion for humanity and the recognition of how wrong violence is. It should not be this way. We all brothers and sisters. We are divine spiritual beings in mortal bodies. We should treat each other as such. Jenny and Screech grew up in the foster system so that they didn't know they were siblings. But, if were taught like we should be taught that we are ALL BROTHER and SISTERS! That is the way we should ALL treat each other! This is what I like about this song. Hopefully, one day we will all know this. "Every so often there comes an artist that says things on a certain level that just resonates." Like Oliver Anthony? (I admit that Ren is OA x100 in a good way. OA did six months of suffering compared to at least six years of hellacious suffering for Ren. They both are prophets, in my opinion. But, I started on the OA rabbit hole before Ren. I love them, both.) Can't wait for your reaction to Ren's video, "Eden". Just curious on your take. Have a nice day!
Thanks for a very emotional reaction. Don't worry, I cried with you. Only difference is I'm a 56 year old English bloke, who's probably seen over a hundred people react to this. Keep going on your Ren journey, you won't regret it, although you will definitely be shedding more tears. As I type this. Chris Webby and Ren have just dropped a collab track called "Baggage". I end up a mess every time I listen to it. Especially because I now understand the meaning in the video . X
The scene where he is knocking on Patrick’s door the camera is circling around REN giving the impression that Ren is losing his shit and spinning out of control. It’s such a great way to show emotion without talking about it just using a camera the camera work in his videos is just important as the music and lyrics in my opinion
I've watched Jenny and screech about 300 times... and it still makes my eyeballs water every single time I watch it!! Love your reactions by the way 🙂🙌
One Ren layer down... suggest him singing next! Like: Back on 74/Message in a Bottle, Fred Again Mashup, I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop, Englishman in New York, or Mansworld at least! 😊
Welcome to the Ren rollercoaster! He's such a diverse and talented artist. The Money Game series is fantastic. Genesis is one of my favorites. The Hunger shows off a bit of his rap side. Ren X Chinchilla - Chalk Outlines (live version) is a must watch. Ren busking with his old band The Big Push - I Shot the Sherriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop is amazing. The rabbit trail is deep! Fantastic reactions on your end. Keep them real and honest and you'll gain plenty of Subscribers!
Check out Chalk Outlines with Ren x Chinchilla “Live” Ren considers Chinchilla his musical sibling. Great reaction, so glad you got the plot twist at the end. 😊
Hi Again LIYA..You're emotional reaction says it all. The twist at the end gets everyone, and has left many a poor boy and poor girl speechless. Bravo for getting through it, because the way he portrays and acts out each character, the narrator and different visual perspectives simultaneously grabs you and holds your soul to the fire until the end..even peeking through terrified fingers. As many have said here in the comments, Ren has so many sides to his music, and if/when you choose to watch/listen or share we will all be here for it. Musically, "Back on 74" is a vibe and his raps and beats will have you bouncing along with "Losing it" and "murderer"...I can't wait for you to hear Chinchilla collabs because you will appreciate her voice and self promotion as an independent artist yourself. "Chalk outlines" and "How To Be Me" are two with Ren and Chinchilla that are kind of heavy too, but remarkably beautiful. I could list them all but you will find all the nuggets if you choose. Have fun....we definitely are, tuning into your reactions! Sending positive vibes and peaceful energy your way.✌🏼
Heya! New here. I just watched your HI Ren, and now this reaction. I'm sure the people who recommended this to you, did so not out of a desire to see you cry, but out of the sheer artistic expertise that he possess. Ren is actually incredible. I'm not sure if you caught it, but here's some 'trivia' I guess? 1) Each of those sections, is filmed in one continuous shot. 2) Hi Ren was also 1 shot. It was their 4th take to get it right. (Obviously, multiple camera angles, but yes, one take.) 3) Ren VERY often uses only a lapel mic. You can see it on his jacket, and his out fits. You can hear his zipper bouncing, his clothes rustling. It gives his music such a unique and raw feeling. (The following are my interpretation of the Tale of Jenny and Screech.) 4) When he 'acting' Jenny, he pretty much never looks at the camera. Denoting her anxious or fearful nature. 5) When acting Screech, he's always right in the camera's face, aggressive and bold. 6) When Screech is knocking at Patrick's door, he's not in. Screech's GF is 'busy'. Maybe Patrick is spending the night with Screech's Gf? 7) At the end of part 1 & 2, when Ren sings, "It's such a shame" I believe this to be a mockery of societal responses. How often do we hear of absolutely tragic events and reply with, "Damn, what a shame." And we move on and don't think about it or do anything about it. I believe this is Ren calling us out for being overly passive in our actions. I'm sure there are other things, but I think that's enough for 1 comment. XD I hope these trivia or 'interpretations' are cool to you! I'd love to know what you think and/or take away from the song?
Great reaction Liya your doing a great job 👏 Ren has the ability to make you cry but also laugh in some of his other music has I'm sure you will experience ❤
You have turned the key, opened the door, and stepped through into the wonderful world of Ren. There is so much here for you. Some pieces will hurt - you know that already, but there is joy and laughter too. Keep Reacting!
Great reaction!! We all went through that meat grinder last year. Next: Ren & the band he was a member of…The Big Push Band. This is a busking session, it’s a mashup of Bob Marley’s, “I Shot The Sheriff”, Damian Marley’s, “ Road To Zion”, DJ Luck/MC Neat’s, “Little Bit of Luck” and Dead Prez’s, “Hip Hop”. Here, Ren is wearing RED suspenders. It’s a classic!! Thank you!
I think he said something about wanting to make some series... His acting and storytelling are great :) Lets hope and see. Loved the reaction btw :) As someone already mentioned... Money game part1, 2 and 3 should be interesting for you to watch/listen next :)
Ren is the best storyteller/artist hands down. One of the best things about great art is that you want to share the experience of seeing and feeling it for the first time with others. It's not about the tears as much as shared experience.
One of the best J&S reactions I've seen and I've seen most of them! Don't worry. Ren has a bunch of fun/silly songs as well. (Ren has a bunch of everything songs.)
When you cry many of us will cry also , your experience is our experience, we know what you are about to see n hear for the first time. Great reaction ❤ subbed for ren
I’m not a rap fan, but I love Ren! Very few artists are willing to film their music videos as a LIVE, ‘one take’ performance & yet, Ren is doing it in video, after video, after video. His proficiency in numerous musical instruments & singing ability that spans multiple genres brands him as being “talented” but showcasing his genius visual & vocal storytelling with hauntingly beautiful metaphors, melodies & cinematography makes him a legend!! His work should be taught in schools alongside literary giants such as Shakespeare, Poe, Hemingway & Maya Angelou, just to name a few. (this trilogy alone roughly covers the 10 literacies in education guidelines with a little extra thrown in for good measure!) FUN FACT: he wrote Jenny & Screech’s Tales 2 YEARS BEFORE writing “Violet’s Tale”
Money Game 3 should be next! Ren is just fantastic! Been his sub since 1 year ago! It was been a great ride!!! Had to come back to watch again!!! Great reaction!!! Back again, love your reaction!!!
Well I'm here to watch you fall into Rens rabbit hole. I Started nearly 2 years ago, so its deep, very deep and his own life story is intriguing to say the least. Ren is Raw and uncut but beautiful at the same time. A true artist's artist. Loved your Ren reactions so far, so buckle up for this emotional roller coaster😂😢😮 ❤ from D in the UK 🇬🇧
yay another Renreaction from Liya. Bed can wait i guess xD Well, hope you didn't get nightmares from that one 😳So know you experienced his own Musicstyle Bardcore. There is soooo much beautiful poetry in this dark piece of art. For a change to a bit more light i'd suggest Backto 74/Message in a bottle. Talking Movies: it could be (i'm not up to date on this) that he and Sam (Videographer of, but not exclusive, this one) have a thing with Netflix running :D PS. you'll be blown away to the next room watching Money Game 3 (begin with Money Game 1 though).
Okay, obviously you caught my attention with Ren because I've been obsessively following content involving him for close to a year and a half now, but I have to say that simply reacting to one of his songs doesn't normally warrant a subscription. I generally only sub to people who I feel bring something worthwhile or unique to the reaction process. Sometimes this is simply the quality of their self-expression - the raw vulnerability and emotion they respond to the music with. Sometimes this is because of their personal experience giving them an interesting lens to use as they reflect - psychiatrists, filmmakers, I love seeing all the different "ANGLES" songs like this can be seen from. You...didn't really stand out as having any one strong specific thing I liked. But you balance so many elements so well that I found indirectly interacting with you while you interacted with the music to be highly engaging. You've got kind of the "jill of all trades, Mistress of none" thing going on - a wonderful blend of insightful analysis, relating to it from personal experience, and sharing yourself as a person that ends up making me are about how YOU, SPECIFICALLY will respond to something, and not every reactor can pull that off. So yeah. You've got a new sub. I'm a juggling a few things right now, but I'm adding checking out your spotify to my to-do-list. Just what small glimpses this has given me into you as a person has made me curious to see what you've done with your own music. And I'm sure Ren would approve - he is VERY vocally of the opinion of "a rising tide lifts all ships" and has shown incredible gratitude to both his fandom AND the reaction community for not only spreading awareness and appreciation of his work, but also the other artists he's worked with - from musical collaborators like Chinchilla to his amazing friend and commonly invoked videographer Samuel Perry-Falvey to his bandmates in his Big Push project. So now you're caught up in the tide, Liya. I hope it carries you far.
we are watching for how people react to Ren and it never gets old :)
True, cause I couldn`t ever comprehend my very own reaction the first time I watched it.
The inevitable jaw drop with the reveal always makes me smile!
We are like ART watching murdebot watch series
You're so right I have probably watched 50 hi Ren reaction videos.
Totally in my top 10 songs of all time
@@BroodingEnt if you're from Liverpool that is high praise indeed .
No, they didn't want to see you cry. They wanted you to experience the genius storyteller and performer at work. He is such a gem! 💙
And ,,,yes
We watch because we can never see it for the first time again…so we re-live it through you guys.
@@jeffwilson3205this.
Exactly! ❤ Well said!!
@jeffwilson3205 this is exactly it
He also wrote another great 3 part story called 'Money Game'. He won a bunch of awards for the 3rd part of the story. I'd recommend watching them in order.
100%. And for part 2 the lyric video, not live one.
The 1st was his first foray into turning a music video into a live play/performance... It's a 1 take... I think it took 147 tries or something insane like that.
Part 3 is from this year, and only took a few takes... You gotta experience the growth!
100% Money Game 3.
"Me not realizing how much worse it gets" lol
That made me laugh and think about the first time I watched this video. It gets so dark.
I was literally shaking my head, thinking, "oh no, no... THAT'S not why we wanted you to watch this." Loved her comment at the bottom, lol.
Caps lock.
Fingers and Caps Lock are such masterpieces from Chinchilla. She's such a brilliant artist and ALSO INDEPENDENT as well.
Its amazing what this man can do with an acoustic guitar, a camera and a story. No giant special effects budget, just talent.
Everyone should take the time to listen to at least one of Liya's songs!
Troubles tells his life story.
Chalk Outlines gives an idea of his vocal talents, but mostly showcases the excellent chemistry he has in a duet setting
The Hunger highlights all of his technical rapping abilities
And Blind Eye has a bit of all of the above.
awh thank you so much!
I wrote in the Hi Ren comments section that your reaction Impressed me and I enjoyed your music as well. Well I had to comeback this time to say WOW!

As a person who worked in the music industry for a majority of my life at record stores, putting up promotional displays for various outlets and working for music product distribution companies, I appreciate your perspective on the genius of Ren's artistry. I wish you nothing but the best on your journey through your endevours of your music career.
Nice...😊
We have already shed our tears. I think we like knowing we aren’t the only ones.
Actually, I think most of us would call it bardcore.
Okay, I’m obsessed with watching you watch Ren, absolutely and officially.
Love watching people discover Ren's brilliance. You've just scratched the surface. Can't wait to watch your journey.
OMG I hadn’t heard that Ren posted that! I cannot imagine how he may add to the tales but cannot wait!
@@justinv4638 It may be an entirely different tale. He didn't say one way or the other. Whatever he does, I'm there for it!
But I will be here whatever you decide to react to.
awh thank you so much! i will definitely do the chinchilla duet!
@@knownasliyai second all of the above, ren and chinchilla together are just incredible even their upbeat busking duets make my non existing allergies flair up and I get misty eyed they are perhaps better together than individually which is mind boggling. ❤🤘
Ren got the idea for Jenny tale from a news paper he read about a 14 year old boy that kill a streetwalker with a knife
If you are brave and want to read then googling for paddington 2005 finds the story.
Renegades seeing someone smile at the start of The Tales: "Grab some popcorn and place your bets on when this naive soul breaks down!"
Say thousand times wow and beeing speechless is the very right reaction to this piece. Heard it hundred times now and still feel the same every time.
His attention detail is amazing, the rift he plays symbolising reversing time he plays forwards after Violets assault to bring it back to the present.
I will say it a 1000 times Ren is a true musical Genius...thanks great reaction appreciate you👍
I love that not only to you bear your soul to us through your reactions but you watch his ads too? You are a good person, we all see it. We love it!
Try this one for an additional view of Rens amazing assortment of talent. Ren and The Big Push - I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop. It's a FUN street performance with his old band.
💯
Talking about Ren to make a movie. I think his money game part 3 it's almost a movie. he has won multiple awards with that video.
Danke! I just like reactions from other musicians, i often learn somthing
thank you so much!!
Reacters not teachers.%%!! spell check
UA-cam were going to shut him down 🤣
Something good next.
I second this. Her comments are insightful
Thank you 😁 Anything Ren does is worth reacting to. Expect the unexpected.
✏️🤓
Really enjoyed this reaction as well. Great combination of your musical knowledge with your own personal insight.
Great vid!
Great reaction 👍
Stick with Ren & your jaw will drop time and again as you start to realise he's a feckin GENIUS
Looking forward to your next one 👍😀
Money game 1 2 and 3 are great.
Agreed, but really, it's all great, isn't it?
Money Game 1, 2 and 3 are great! Money Game 2 is the only time I would suggest the lyric video over the Live video though since it gives the full song
A really important song, dominoes. A Ren song with a deeper meaning. (as many others)
I really enjoyed your reaction. It’s great seeing someone going through the same emotions I did the first time seeing this.
I've listened to this too many times to count and I still ended up crying again. It's just so moving.
I'd suggest Ren and Sam Tompkins Blind Eyed MC Sessions if you don't want to cry and either Back on 74/Message in a bottle or Dominos, though Dominos might bring out some tears.
omg thank you soo much !! yes i will definitely check them out !
Good job!!
Ren is a creative genius. So refreshing, original and authentic. He's like a modern day bard and musical chameleon.
His Love Music series is Alot of Fun!!! 😊
Great reaction Liya! Girl, you need a break. Check out Ren's Back on 74 video next, I think you'll really enjoy the groove!
Yeah. She deserves something fun like Back on74, or Losing It, any of the Love Music songs, or Uninvited
We all cry when we listen to this, but we just knew that you would appreciate the story telling and the artistry...Ren is super talented.
Great reaction. Never gets old watching reactions to Tales ❤
The Renmotional vapires got another person stuck in the rabbit hole. 😂 Love the video and reaction. I still tear up after probably 50+ listens.
Definitely!
Check out Chalk Outlines with Ren x Chinchilla “Live”
Ren considers Chinchilla his musical sibling. Great reaction, so glad you got the plot twist at the end. 😊
Welcome fellow RENegade. I'm so happy you found Ren. Money Game Part 3 is a must. 👍🏼
(Obviously, multiple camera angles, but yes, one take.)
3) Ren VERY often uses only a lapel mic. You can see it on his jacket, and his out fits. You can hear his zipper bouncing, his clothes rustling. It gives his music such a unique and raw feeling.
(The following are my interpretation of the Tale of Jenny and Screech.)
4) When he 'acting' Jenny, he pretty much never looks at the camera.
XD
I hope these trivia or 'interpretations' are cool to you! I'd love to know what you think and/or take away from the song?
Great reaction Liya your doing a great job 👏
Ren has the ability to make you cry but also laugh in some of his other music has I'm sure you will experience ❤
And sometimes blush
You have turned the key, opened the door, and stepped through into the wonderful world of Ren. There is so much here for you. Some pieces will hurt - you know that already, but there is joy and laughter too. Keep Reacting!
The look on your face was priceless! I love watching real reactions, and yours was real. Great reaction young lady 👍. I'm subscribed.
Loved the reaction btw :)
As someone already mentioned...
Bed can wait i guess xD
Well, hope you didn't get nightmares from that one 😳So know you experienced his own Musicstyle Bardcore. There is soooo much beautiful poetry in this dark piece of art. For a change to a bit more light i'd suggest Backto 74/Message in a bottle.
Talking Movies: it could be (i'm not up to date on this) that he and Sam (Videographer of, but not exclusive, this one) have a thing with Netflix running :D
PS. you'll be blown away to the next room watching Money Game 3 (begin with Money Game 1 though).
Liked, subscribed. Your in for a journey down the Ren rabbit hole. MG 1,2,3, GENISIS and how to be me 👌 back on 74 also. So many.....
if you was wondering what the sound was at start of Jenny tale that was Ren beatboxing trumpet
