Violet's tale happened in 2005 (two zero zero five) and Jenny and Screech's tale happened in 2019, 14 years later. Twins separated at birth and then Screech ends up killing his twin without knowing she existed. Jenny inherited her mother's silence and Screech inherited his father's violence. Another interesting part is when he knocks on his friend Patrick's door and he wasn't there and then calls his girlfriend who said she was busy was because they were actually together behind his back. He's such an amazing storyteller. He calls his musical genre "Bardcore" which is perfect...
I have always said Ren was a bard! I love it! ❤️ You said everything I caught during tat song. Patrick and Screeches GF were together. Which is why he wasn't home & she was busy. Loved it! You said everything I was going to point out! 😊
Violet didn’t make it, Jenny froze just like V and Screech was just like his father. This is such a brilliant view of generational domestic violence. This man is so engaging .
thats the history repeating itself over and over again! Not just repeating itself for Violet choosing to be with a man like her father but her daughter repeated her defense mechanism of staying quiet and frozen which got them all in trouble she needed a new strategy on defence .... And Screetch was just like his Father! You gotta break the cycle somehow before its too late! So wicked ! Next level Genius Mr Ren!!!!
Never noticed it until this listen, but when speaking of Violets abuse he uses the line "the devil comes to dance" and in Jenny's tale that the devil was after Screech's soul, but the the devil's in his chest as he kills Jenny. Like an onion this song is.

Jenny and Screech and Steve and Violets lives mirror each other. The deep part for me is how Jenny and Screech’s introduction to the world and their final day also run parallel.
I know this is an older reaction video so you guys may not see this but this was by far the best reaction I’ve seen to this story. A lot of people I’ve watched react to this got lost in the musical talent (not that anyone could blame them) and completely missed the plot. You guys did so great in being able to take in both, kinda made me feel like I heard the song for the first time again so thank you!! This is such a powerful take on generational violence.

It never ceases to amaze me what a man with mad talent and a single instrument can do. Ren is a gift to this world. Great reaction as always! Y’all are among my favorites.
"I am sure her mother knew." I see two different layers in this line. One, chances are that, at least on some level, her mother did know some of those "things" Violet's father was doing but for various reasons either "pretended" not to see or pushed it away out of her consciousness so she wouldn't have to deal with her own dilemma and/or guilt about it. And, even more critical, from the "big picture" perspective and in keeping with the theme of these tales, there is the strong possibility that Violet's mother went through the same kind of thing when she was a child. That is the nature of these cycles, they are passed along from one generation to the next. A child is born into it, grows up believing this is "just the way it is," ends up in a different version of what is essentially the same tale when they are adults and so on and on.
Ren makes your mind follow the story of his heart as the pain flows through him he has a way of making you feel it in his music... Ren has a deep soul....

Ren pulls a couple of tricks on the listener near the end of Violet's Tale, firstly the lyric "please let my baby stay alive" can easily be "babies stay alive" & then he implants Screech's name in your head with the preceding lyric "it happened on these very streets". Genius.

YES!!! You caught the 'side by side' double! SO many reactors miss it and it drives me nuts.....subbed and liked! mad respect to ya'll
You two never fail to put a smile on my face. Thanks for being so lively and likable; we need more of that in this sad world
I too really enjoy their energy.
I have been watching your reactions for some time now and have to say you are some of my favorite. Much love to you and your family. Ren will be the best Bard the world has ever seen.
I was thinking the same thing, that the works of Ren (and his great cameraman, Samuel Perry-Falvey) would be perfect for stage plays (like Hamilton) or movies. I picture his concerts to be something like that, too. Hope he tours the US and Canada (after his recovery in Calgary). Great reaction!
I really enjoyed hanging out and watching this with you two. Love your energy.
FINALLY you two are the first reators to get it. Thank you so much for paying attention. If I wasn't already subbed to yas I would be now
HECK YES!!! BEEN WAITING on y'all. Pls do "Chalk Outlines" next.
#Ren
my favourite song of his!
Love you guys! I see in ur eyes love, positive, peace and everything good! Thank you for reaction
Your guys respect for each other is awesome.. great reaction
there are so many songs you could make out of all the changes in rythm with the giutar in his songs. so many surprises
Hey you two, good vibes right back at ya! Loving your reactions to Ren's tunes over the past few days I think you would both love both Money Game part one and two, and also the beautiful harmonies and lyrics of Ren and Chinchillas song Chalk outlines!
There really is no end to Ren's talents. Never bothered watching reacts until Ren started blowing up here It's awesome to share the joy of others discovering and watching his performances for the first time and be just as wowed as I felt discovering him! and now I cant stop watching ya all! Thanks for sharing!
amazing reaction..love you two..genuine, sensitive, recognized talent and love the grounded clean reactions . following you guys now. respect ❤❤
Wow... This was amazing. Ren should be better known in the States.
A true prodigious artist! Hear him rap! Wow!
Dudes doin hammer ons and pull offs with acoustic, that's impressive.
Ren is a bard, like in castle bards where they sing & act out their poetry.
Brilliant reaction guys and had to subscribe you two are a breath of fresh air
Wait til you hear his singing voice. As others have stated "Chalk Outlines" with Chinchilla next. The live version.
I agree the live version has a better sound, but the animated lyrics video hits different imo
@@Frogger I personally love both versions equally, but I do love the live version for the visuals and overall feel.
@@firstbornunicorn1545 the live version is superior in it's delivery and feel. The animated one is great for his storytelling.
Hard part is knowing Ren is trying to bring a voice to events that happen all over the world daily.
I have watched many reactions to this trilogy and it never misses to give goosebumps and make me cry. What great masterpieces!!!
#Ren is a highly talented story teller. Just brilliant!
Thank you guys for introducing me to REN he is brilliant. ❤️✌️
Great reaction. Chalk Outlines is absolutely beautiful.
FYI on Screech's tale. In an interview Ren said the reason Patrick wasn't in.was that he was at Screech's girlfriend place, hence her being busy.
So the stories are even more intertwined than they first appear.
#Ren is a different breed of artist!
Fire reaction!! Ren live version of Chalk Outlines is a must see!! ✌❤💪
Defo!
God bless you both for sharing Ren's work. We are praying for a miracle cure from the chronic illness, pain and suffering that this young man is enduring. 💛💜💛
Damn you two had the best first reaction that followed and got the whole story
Im so glad to see somebody react to his rewinding time at the beginning of violet's tale, its such a small detail, yet so genius
Did you catch the unrewind at 17:53 to continue the story where he rewinded?
That's a Broadway hit for sure. Great call guys #MADRESPECT
Kicking the algorithm. Keep up the good work!
Ren is very sick and stuck in Canada for 6 months for medical treatments. If you go to his channel look at his comments page, he describes the issue and politely asks for donations if anyone is able to help. He promises more free music when he's back in his health.
Been watching since you were under 10k. Never disappointed ❤🇨🇦
Love your honesty in reaction. I tear up every time I hear Hi REN or the tale of Violet and screech.
Such a prolific statement on the systemic effects of poverty and other societal generational ills🌿💔
I love how you guys move your heads the same way I do when listening
Amazing Idea!! Ren writing a play would change the world 🌎 would never be the same!
