Yes! Yes! Yes! It is one of my faves!!! Can you imagine having been there for a street concert & having that memory! I grew up in Austin, Tx in late 80’s & early 90’s…..music scene was amazing. Now it’s ridiculously commercial (ACL Fest is so 🤮🤮). I used to go to free & cheap concerts all the time. Good times!

Violet's tale was filmed in the bike shed basement of a friend's apartment block in Brighton, where Ren lives. Ren was a busker for years and developed a skill for drawing people in. I reckon you should do Back on 74/Message in a bottle retake next. Just one recent example of many of how the man can sing too.
Yes. Ren IS The Modern Shakespeare. Our new Bard. And I think you're right. During those 9 years when Ren was so disabled by his illness, could barely get out of bed for long patches, I'm sure he was studying just about every type of music on the planet! Great reaction guys, I'm 62 been into music all my life. I've played in bands etc. Ren is the best I've ever seen!! I think the schools will be kicking out Shakespeare, and studying Ren's lyrics in GCSE English Literature at some point in the future. They filmed these at night in Brighton, and it took several attempts to get right, many of the issues were car alarms going off, sirens, and someone shouting "shut the fuck up" 🤣along with the difficulty of the whole live performance from both Ren and Sam the camera man.

Great reaction. Since finding Ren I've experienced a feeling that is so rare and mind-boggling, more than once. The feeling of "i just witnessed something so profound, which carries the weight and satisfaction of a classic work of art, and the guy who did it is my age and his genius brain is still ambitious and full of potential." It's an exciting feeling to have your faith restored in creativity and in the capabilities of people.

Yeah, it's the first (earliest) video under the Live tab on Ren's channel. The actual performance is also available as a 360° video among his regular videos. That one is great since you can look around and spot the little kids singing along to Screech's foul-mouthed lyrics. 😂

Ren is a modern day bard painting such vivid imagery with his storytelling that it pulls you in and forces you to keep watching - even when it gets physically uncomfortable during Violet’s Tale. And Ren uses this ability to shed light on far too real issues in the world. Ren is special. Also side note: thank you for taking off the sun glasses. I rarely watch reactions where the reactors cover up parts of their face. I’m here to see the reactions after all. Ren is a student of the game, he listened to every other artist and said, I like this that so-and-so does. I like this that so-and-so does and on and on and on and took all of them and he’s a conglomeration of music history. You can tell by listening to a lot of his really good raps. He is truly a generational talent.
Not only has he listened to the music but he’s read the stories too. George Orwell, Dylan Thomas, Aldous Huxley, Kurt Vonnegut (his personal favourite). He’s not just “clever” or “talented” - he’s put in the hours and he’s extremely well read. Those years stuck in his room were spent productively, you can tell. He’s made diamonds from coal.
You guys are fantastic, you earned a sub. He has so much in his bag that you have not seen yet. I think it’s time now you start looking at some of the other stuff, that you will enjoy. One of my favorites of his is the song, Genesis, then you have Murderer, illest Of Our Time, The Hunger, Animal Flow, and my absolute top favorite Ren song of all time, which is a vivid description of his journey through his teetering faith while going through his health problems. The song.” Seven Sins.” is an absolute masterpiece of flow changes and descriptive storytelling, absolutely bone chilling. And I didn’t even recommend any of his collaborations with the artist chinchilla which once you’ve go down that rabbit hole, their collaborations are phenomenal, but she’s a phenomenal artist as well.

It is from this that many dubbed REN’s genre as “Bardcore.” I’ve often stated that he spins this tale so well that upon hearing it, Shakespeare would clear his players from the stage and offer it up to Ren. Incredibly heartbreaking tales, performed in such a beautiful way. Just brilliant.

Great reaction. Since finding Ren I've experienced a feeling that is so rare and mind-boggling, more than once. The feeling of "i just witnessed something so profound, which carries the weight and satisfaction of a classic work of art, and the guy who did it is my age and his genius brain is still ambitious and full of potential." It's an exciting feeling to have your faith restored in creativity and in the capabilities of people.

I loved your suggestion that Ren has likely watched every style, genre, of music current or past, and fused all of that into the music, theater, performance we now see as purely REN!! He really is his own genre. And delivers messages to mankind. It’s crazy!

Yeah, it's the first (earliest) video under the Live tab on Ren's channel. The actual performance is also available as a 360° video among his regular videos. That one is great since you can look around and spot the little kids singing along to Screech's foul-mouthed lyrics. 😂

Ren is a modern day bard painting such vivid imagery with his storytelling that it pulls you in and forces you to keep watching - even when it gets physically uncomfortable during Violet’s Tale. And Ren uses this ability to shed light on far too real issues in the world. Ren is special.
Also side note: thank you for taking off the sun glasses. I rarely watch reactions where the reactors cover up parts of their face. I’m here to see the reactions after all.

Ren is a student of the game, he listened to every other artist and said, I like this that so-and-so does. I like this that so-and-so does and on and on and on and took all of them and he’s a conglomeration of music history. You can tell by listening to a lot of his really good raps. He is truly a generational talent.
Not only has he listened to the music but he’s read the stories too. George Orwell, Dylan Thomas, Aldous Huxley, Kurt Vonnegut (his personal favourite). He’s not just “clever” or “talented” - he’s put in the hours and he’s extremely well read. Those years stuck in his room were spent productively, you can tell. He’s made diamonds from coal.
Absolutely loved your journey to Ren so far! Only scratched the surface though, 100% here for the rest of it!

You guys are fantastic, you earned a sub. He has so much in his bag that you have not seen yet. I think it’s time now you start looking at some of the other stuff, that you will enjoy. One of my favorites of his is the song, Genesis, then you have Murderer, illest Of Our Time, The Hunger, Animal Flow, and my absolute top favorite Ren song of all time, which is a vivid description of his journey through his teetering faith while going through his health problems. The song.” Seven Sins.” is an absolute masterpiece of flow changes and descriptive storytelling, absolutely bone chilling. And I didn’t even recommend any of his collaborations with the artist chinchilla which once you’ve go down that rabbit hole, their collaborations are phenomenal, but she’s a phenomenal artist as well.
I’ve watched loads of these reactions and this one was my fave by far , intelligent breakdown raw reactions and so so funny new sub here proud renegade ready to see you do genesis 🤟🇬🇧👀
