Once price drops I will consider this as next phone. Really like the idea of a compact smartphone that opens up. Just wanted the price to drop and the hinge to be better and this looks like the technology is there.
I've had 3 oppos and loved the 2 cheap ones as were great deals. So got one of the more expensive ones and it was lacking compared to other brands in features but one's I didn't care about so was fine. But then they abandoned it so it only got 1 android update, 3 months after its release while still on shelves. So less than a year after I got it, was old and their customer service response was an absolute joke. Will never buy them again. Know Samsung are not angels but at least they update models for 4 years. I liked the pop up cam instead of hold punch and The underscreen finger print scanner was also best I've used. Credit where it's due but the lack of updates was unacceptable, especially as big changers had been made in android with auto and few other features. 1 update, 15 months into it's life would have kept me happy."

I was playing with both Samsung z flip 4 & this Oppo N2 today at the showrooms, I would say I prefer this Oppo one better. Less noticeable crease, bigger front screen, better potrait camera, no gap when folded & the huge battery!
Yeah but as of now because of the hinge style Oppo uses no IPX8 rating. I like the fact I can take my Z Flip 4 in the water with me and that even though no official rating dust protection is awesome. The Z Flip 5 is supposed to use the tear drop hinge system and have IPX8 rating. I do love that outside screen though.

@@yourfaceistube The MAIN thing both my wife and I daily marvel at is the OPPO photo quality, especially the 'Potrait' mode. It's light years better than iPhone in both of our opinions. Nothing at all that we miss from the Iphone. The foldable feature I initially thought was a bit of a marketing gimmick but as soon as you migrate to a foldable phone you realise it's extremely practical. When you need the device to be small (when you store it) it's smaller than a normal phone, but when you need the device to be big (a screen when you're using it) you get that as well unfolded. I can't imagne anyone wouldn't agree the OPPO is an upgrade from the IPhone.
Am an iphone user since 2008 but i tried Oppo simple A94 .. purchased in 2021 the phone was heavenly, photo taking app e.t.c so am definitely considering their phone .. iphone is not really changing much .. i will keep my iphone 13pro for a long time😂

i was going to get the zflip but paid abit more and got the zfold 4 instead, 5 months later and i can't see myself ever going back to a normal phone again, still amazes me when i open it up, use it while away in hotel rooms, i don't even take my laptop on work trips anymore, just got a portable keyboard from amazon and a hd cable and plug it into the hotel tv, done 👍, tbh the only issue i have is the front screen needs to be wider, i can't tell you how many times i've had to rewrite a text or email due to fat fingers and small screen 🤣
Saw this phone in coverage from MWC, after watching this review it looks pretty damn amazing, they fixed the creasing that put me off the samsung, and the rest of the phone just looks really solid.
Idc what people say, creases matter simply bc of how much stress they are putting on the ultra thin glass. There’s a reason people get cracks along the middle of their galaxy fold, bc their creases are so deep. I mean there’s the recent stories bout the Fold 3s cracking for no reason after the warranty expires
Could you please make reviews of all the older foldables? It’s worth checking how they look and feel after awhile, and if software was updated to accommodate the foldability factor by any chance. My friend’s Samsung Flip 1 after only 3 months looked like phone used for 3 years-without dropping it a single time. But hey, might be just her 😅
I can't wait to see where manufacturers go with this tech, everyone is currently playing follow the leader, as far as it was Samsung who brought the first production set of foldable screens to the market. The next innovation of this tech is going to be truly great. I have the fold 3 and everyone I show it to all are under the impression that the screen will split or break and are surprised by how durable it really is. So, I see this round of foldable to be more of a "proof of concept", to change people's mindset. The ski's the limit after that!

I bought an Oppo Reno 2 in 2020 and now in 2023 I'm still using it. Battery life span is very good and charges very fast if you use their original charger. Previously with Samsung phones , I always have to change every 2 years. Something would always mess up once you hit the 2 year mark, like slowing down , not charging etc. Oppo has proved to be the most lasting phone I have so far. ..
None of the folds or flip phone's screen break. There are micro cracks in cases of Samsung Foldables because of that narrow radius crease. Basically UTG is made for the purpose of folding.
Motorola has perfected the cover screen on modern flip phones with the imminent release of their Razr 40 Ultra. This will make all other flips like this FInd N2 Flip feel like last year's tech IMHO.

Nope. Chinese Brands avoids the US market after Huawei ban occurred. Only Oneplus is there because its pretty strong in US market. But there isn't any other BBK brand or Xiaomi. Moreover their are issues with Carriers. Unlike US, all other countries have Retailers through which brand sells. These retailers get an incentive from the brands. OPPO and VIVO gives the highest incentives to them so retailers push their phones more to the customers. This situation changes entirely in US market coz first of all carriers instead of Retailers and second is a severly biased anti-china govt. which is ready to ban Chinese apps like Tiktok under the name of privacy & security but won't do a single thing to US apps like Facebook and Instagram which are even worse than Tiktok in this regard.

Yeah you can but that widget hasn't been released yet by OPPO. It will come with the april update most likely. When they release it, not only it will be able to run spotify but it might even be able to run Insta and FB on the cover.
The display is bent within in a teardrop hinge mechanism invented by Motorola in 2019 instead of a sharper fold. Think of folding a paper flat vs bending the middle part in a waterdrop shape

I have this phone, it a nice feeling unit but the small screen isnt as intuitive to set up as i would have hoped. In all it feels like a bit of a gimmick. Dont get me wrong, i came from an Oppo Find X3 Pro so know the brand and i like their products .... Its just the flip phone doesnt move the game on in any great way. Only had it a few days so plenty more exploring to do and maybe i will come to appreciate it more.
I don't have that one, but ordered the Oppo Find N2, working perfectly in the US at the exception of android auto, dispite that issue I prefer it better than my previous Galaxy Z fold 4

How would you do video calls? there isn't any widget that Meta is going to make for that, neither will Google make one solely for foldables. It hasn't even made a proper Android fork for Foldables yet even when Foldables are 4yrs old as of now.
This looks like a great evolution of the format. It seems weird to me that you didn't even mention Motorola, since they are the ones with a usable outside screen and actually the Oppo's hinge mechanism looks almost identical in principle as the Razr's. I must say I was disappointed to see how limited the outside screen of the Find N2 Flip is, even as spacious as it is. The outside screen on the Razr is the best feature for me - I use for everything from productivity timing and texting to background youtube playing (when I care mostly just about the sound). Hopefully they give the outside screen on the Oppo more abilities. The outside screen is the worst downside of the Z-Flip.
Oppo will NOT make the outer screen more usable at least not on this specific phone They already stated that the outer screen is meant to be simple with just widgets.
@@PSYCHOV3N0M Their loss. They will have to expand the options on the next model, or they will lose out to competition. Everybody is calling this the main disadvantage of this model and somebody has already made a third party mod. "Keeping it simple" is BS and it's just the manufacturer's excuse for not taking the time to prepare the support. All of the Motorolas have the option to use the outer screen and while some apps may not work, most do.

Samsung did NOT bring the first foldable phone to market. Royole FlexPai was the first in 2018. Foldable phones are not a new concept by any means.

I was pretty keen on the flip 4 (or the 2023 version) until I saw the Find N2. The difference in crease is amazing.
Shame that the ultra wide angle it's only 1080p and stabilization it's as good as the z flip 4 but clearly oppo wins with its design 😻

How would you do video calls? there isn't any widget that Meta is going to make for that, neither will Google make one solely for foldables. It hasn't even made a proper Android fork for Foldables yet even when Foldables are 4yrs old as of now.
This looks like a great evolution of the format. It seems weird to me that you didn't even mention Motorola, since they are the ones with a usable outside screen and actually the Oppo's hinge mechanism looks almost identical in principle as the Razr's. I must say I was disappointed to see how limited the outside screen of the Find N2 Flip is, even as spacious as it is. The outside screen on the Razr is the best feature for me - I use for everything from productivity timing and texting to background youtube playing (when I care mostly just about the sound). Hopefully they give the outside screen on the Oppo more abilities. The outside screen is the worst downside of the Z-Flip.
Oppo will NOT make the outer screen more usable at least not on this specific phone
They already stated that the outer screen is meant to be simple with just widgets.
@@PSYCHOV3N0M Their loss. They will have to expand the options on the next model, or they will lose out to competition. Everybody is calling this the main disadvantage of this model and somebody has already made a third party mod. "Keeping it simple" is BS and it's just the manufacturer's excuse for not taking the time to prepare the support. All of the Motorolas have the option to use the outer screen and while some apps may not work, most do.
For some reason though it will not be brought out here in Holland 😔
