Cool to see the Niagara Launcher on this channel. My current go-to launcher; I love the approach it has to making the home screen snappy and quick to use.
Love your reviews... Glad the downsides of this phone are mainly software that can be updated or fixed, rather than hardware issues. Oppo has a lot to offer to the Samsung dominated global market
I like the design of the Find over the Galaxy Flip, but I think software wise I will probably wait for a possible 2nd Gen to see if they can improve on that. Loved the London footage by the way, especially the London Bridge shots! 😉
Filp 5 for sure will come with snapdragon gen 2 and if we are lucky maybe it with 'plus' too However, i have q is this oppo phone waterproof? And not in the mood for waiting 6 months for flip 5 I dont know what to buy
@@jagaaan I tried both recently and honestly oppo's camera sucks for the 48 mp it claims it has, the flip has far less mp but is much better quality, I was disappointed because on paper the oppo looks good and it felt really good on the hand
Once again a beautiful and amazing hardware stalled by the software. OPPO has so much potential on this Flip, and it's exciting to see what the next gen product could bring! 🤞
Of all the techtubers I follow, your reviews are the most deliciously written. Your reading shows its effects in your script writing. Big fan, for years now! Thank you
Michael beautifully illustrates the biggest problem I have with phones today. The OS and functionality of software is always behind what people want/expect from a $1000+ phone. Love your videos man can't wait to see what you have next.
Samsung appears to be fixing the biggest issues, based on leaks, with the Flip on the upcoming Z Flip 5: the crease and the small cover display. Leaks state that Samsung will increase the cover screen size to around 3 inches and use a teardrop shape fold for the inner screen to make the crease less visible if not invisible.
@@joshjohnson2753 the folding would get old with me real quick if that's the only wow factor it has to have at least the 200mp camera at the back if not its not a solid buy.
Honestly if I was in the market for a folding phone, I’d go for this. The lack of a crease gives me more confidence in its long term durability. I’m definitely intrigued by this phone. This all said my iPhone 13 pro is holding up well and I don’t see myself upgrading anytime soon.
Will be curious to see if they listen to reviewers like yourself, and through major updates, upgrade the software to make the outer screen a lot more usable.
Hi Mr Mobile. Good review. The first of yours I’ve seen although I’ve see you on David The Lockr videos. He’s my favourite lol 😂😂 But I’d like to ask you if it’s best to wait for the next Flip from OPPO Or Don you think OPPO will improve things as time goes by. I thank you in advance for any reply and I’m following you now 😂😊👍
I love the design and the outer display, unfortunately the software remains horrible and the use of the outer display is a joke... Mr. Fisher once again with a poetic video! Thanks man, simply the best out there if it's about tech and telling a story about it ❤.
The hardware certainly looks great, but the software looks like it needs more time in the oven. Excited for what they will do over the next few models!
What drives me nuts is, yeah it's a little undercooked ... but a lot of the things I complained about were intentional design decisions. I just don't understand why Oppo gave the user so much more display area, only to then decide to essentially duplicate Samsung's software. Annoying.
@@TheMrMobile yeah. Hope they fix it. I guess they tried to appeal to the "don't get lost in your phone" type public and made the software restrictive at the last moment 😅
The whole point of Android is flexibility. This has been out in China for a while, and there are third-party apps that will allow the front display to be more helpful. So, do not worry about that; if you want more software, it is easy to fix. OPPO covers most of what I need, and the niche stuff will only matter to some buyers. The real question is, are flips just a fad? I tried, and after the honeymoon period, the Flip4 became a nuisance, unproductive, overpriced for what it did and an exercise of doing something just because you can.
you know that these review videos not only inform us regular consumers but also motivates the companies to push themselves :D reviews always matters. Loved it.
To me, the Razr 2022 still wins since they got it right with the outer screen software. We should be able to access all apps without having to open the damn phone! That's the convenience of having a folding device... 😐😐😐
I'm so glad you saw through the bull and pinpointed the issue with this phone. It's seems that a lot of its supporters refuse to believe that the outer screen is ironically the missed opportunity.
I'll always watch Michael's reviews even if I literally don't care for the phone, watch, whatever he might be reviewing. Michael, you always do an amazing job, keep it up, good sir!
I always love your honest opinions about all the devices you tested. This is no exemption, but out of all these Chinese made phones, I really like OPPO phones since I had one many years ago. But their new foldable devices are definitely going to be the up and coming that can really challenge the Samsung dominant in foldable market in my opinion. I wonder if Apple will ever jump into the bandwagon of this foldable game.
In Europe the Flip 4 is discounted at 700euro and still not interested, from one simple reason: Screen reliability in time and bad support on damaged devices.

Love the Real review of this phone. I didn't catch what you said about TMobile Service in NYC. Will it not be capable of working 5G consistently on their network?
This is a really interesting phone. To be honest, I'm inherently skeptical of anything that is not named Apple or Samsung. Or Google. Even the mere mention that there may be difficulty in using the phone in some regions, such as the U.S., is enough to persuade me not to even give it a look. None of that has to do with the review though. As someone else said...Mr. Mobile is the only person I'd watch for a review on something I'm probably not interested in. Thanks Mr. Mobile~
Yeah the US market is seriously weird. In the Asian market there's so much competition that you get better phones for a lower price and there aren't even any issues with the Carriers.

At this point it is a well established theme that the software is the Achilles heel of brands like OPPO, Xiaomi etc. Software experience is often very messy, unfinished even years down the line and ultimately, especially if you are not just a basic user, kills the phone. Granted OPPO seems to at least allow you to install a custom launcher so kudos for that.
Oppo's software tbh is great for the slab form factor and also the larger folding one.
