To be fair, a lot of people don't think twice about spending that amount on a bang average car. What would you rather have in the garage? Nearly new car and a used sports bike or a used car and an absolute space rocket of a superbike?
Amazing to think the bike you rode too has a bit of a dip between 6 and 8 k. More noticeable in 2nd gear. Not as bad as an American version but still noticeable. With a remap and a full Akra you can see 40hp more in the mid range which trasnsforms it. It’s quite easy to get 205hp at back tyre too with that bike without spending a fortune. Also it’s a pretty decent road bike. Loads of room on it and the peg to knee ratio is great for taller guys like me at 6ft 2. The adjustable rear sets are great. A Ducati v4 really isn’t easy on my knees Good video Michael. Always good to hear your take 👍🏻
Thanks for the video - keeps us going through the winter ! shame some people who must be bike fans come to watch try and moan and pick apart the content ? Why ? Look the bike is what it is - a homologation bike ! It’s not really aimed at the road rider it is for superbike teams to use as a base, and for the guy who is building his dream track bike good for you ! If you can afford it and it’s your passion then do it and enjoy - I would ! Best of luck to you 👍 cheers all 🍻
It really does look like a weapon ! It definitely a track bike ! Like it but as for the ‘feeling’ when you open the garage door I think I’d go for a Ducati V4SP instead - not that I can afford either at the moment ! I rode an early S1000rr M and it was ok but I preferred the sound and character of the RSV4 so that’s what is in my garage now, BMW are certainly trying hard now though ! 👍👍
Are you looking for a road bike, predominantly? If so, then the S RR with its more road-focussed electronics leccy suspension gives it the advantage. The M is for showing off and as a base for a race bike. Cheers, Michael
Losing that body weight above the waist would also reduce the center of gravity more-so than than a given equal reduction in bike weight.... win, win! 🏁
It's hilarious when you see people spending so much time and money trying to drop the tiniest bit of extra weight off their bike, and then you look at their body and think hmmmmm.
Always makes me laugh when people say ' its a race bike with lights yeah. No. No its not. When race teams build a bike they only buy the engine and frame sans swingarn. This is because they would have to throw so much away.
@@bennettsbikesocial that's why it's terrible lol. It can't be adjusted to be softer like the S1000RR. Other videos have commented on how solid it is and that it bounces around all over the place. Who wants a bike at that money, that is only really for the track? If it had electronic Ohlins then I'd swap it for my V4S in a heartbeat.
@@will8326 you’ve nailed it - the S is designed with use on the roads in mind (hence the leccy suspension) whereas the M is so track focused hence the suspension limitations. That was BMWs prerogative.
It's a homologation bike for racing.. the only reason it's sold. You could also say the same for any SS litre bike on public roads... as you can only use a relatively small percentage of their performance envelope... unless of course you really want to risk jail time. However unrealistic they are for general road use, I still think it's wonderful that these things are offered to the general public.
Surely that first part of the ride was a voice over and not the on board voice recording. 😮

That bikes the equivalent of a Koneigsegg. Bike all day 🇩🇪

would you start your superbike journey with a S1000RR or a M1000RR? (not based on price), thanks.

I wonder why he spent all that money on that bike instead of getting a used HP4 Race and setting aside the engine rebuild/new engine money.
How did you mange to stay with un the Speed limits? 😅
I bet that cruise control helped!
It’s always the guys with a belly and man boobs that say they want the to reduce weight off the bike but not themselves 🤣

Modern day Harry Enfield, ‘Loadsa Money’ 😂
899 panigale… I love small bikes too. 😂. Sorry as I am Not skinny but middle aged blokes in xxxl leathers is not a good look.
And the thing is, he would enjoy the bike so much better if he was slimmer and fitter. Carb addiction is a problem.
Why be so rude?

Buddy you are not excited enough to even listen too
So are race bikes built from the road going bikes production run? Unlike race cars that come built from the factory ready to race.
😊❤

I'm not a fan of the looks of the second gen bike... IYKYN... A very Moto GP 'looking' bike + Toprak.....?
70 grand ⁉️ Jarrett Campise got a 80 Grand version that's sick ASF ‼️‼️‼️
thats us dollar this is pound sterling so nearly 90 grand in us dollar
Basically dave just wants to be the the posh billy big bollocks at track days with that bike
Not mentioned anything about the terrible rear suspension that makes it useless for British roads.
The suspension isn’t terrible, it’s just not designed for British roads!

Get rid of this bloke, hes like watching paint dry...
What's he meant to do? Scream?
GERMAN GSXR
Unless you're good enough to use a bike like this to it's maximum, i don't see the point in buying it.
What’s the point of this bike on British roads? Down force up 40%, less weight, 15,000 rpm, shift cam technology and it’s got f*****g wings too. 🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱
