The installation instructions here and in the manual are screwed up! Had to call Freedom tech support twice! Never seen Lowes making mistakes of this sort before!
The instillation shows the gate without the arrow shaped metal pieces you put on each corner, but they reappear when mounting the gate, wtf? The holes don't align when the arrow pieces are on????
The hinges have 4 holes to attach to the gate but the decorative straps that are on the underside of the hinges only have 2 holes. This make attaching the hinges with the correct amount of screws impossible.
Shaun Sexton I know what you're talking about. The instructions say to screw for screws into place to hold the large strap to the gate panel. If I do that cama the screws are in place of where the hinges are supposed to attach. These instructions and the video conflict. I see they don't respond to comments here so I'm pretty sure they don't care
Any parts available to hold a vinyl self close gate open while you drive a mower through? Like vinyl gate hold back? I cant seem to find them anywhere.
This is terrible. How can you call this "instructions"? 6mins total in videos to explain how to install an entire fence, is not enough. Maybe if this is what you do for a living, but to someone who's never done this before? I had to redig post holes as I went, use a reciprocating saw to trim panels to fit, and do it by dropping 2 posts, setting it with sika post mix, then waiting for it to solidify, then attach the panel, align the next panel to determine location of next post hole, dig and repeat. Now I'm at the final gap for the gate and don't understand how far the next post hole should be. It says 5ft max for the gate, but then you have to account for the hinges, mount posts and brackets and I'm lost.
So the main part that’s not making sense the video says to “follow includes instructions” but that’s the issue! The included instructions MAKE NO SENSE!! There are no instructions that make sense on how to install gate hinges! Frustrating and disappointing! Also nothing in instructions (until this video) say you need a support beam in the gate!!
@@mrlafayette1964 you're right! That is what we actually ended up doing. As you can see that my post was a year ago and it worked perfectly and saved money ☺️ but it's still ridiculous that all of this is not clear in the instructions and it's false advertising.

Still does not tell you what space you need for gate and post clearance. Can anyone say if having 1” on each side is enough ??

Same, i just did the kit yesterday. I just used the panel itself to mount the hinges.

I don't understand how I put this post stiffener in
I just bought the wrong one. Lowes does not currently sell the needed post stiffener is what I'm told. I bought a 4x4x8 instead

The support goes inside the vinyl hinge side post , you don't have to buy their metal insert which cost $100plus, you can use a wood 4x4x8 works fine.

What a crap product. Hinges and kit don't even align. Way over priced too
