Matt Kemp was always one of my favorite players, no idea why I'm an O's fan, but there were video games I played growing up like 9innings where he was ELITE. Always rooted for him, and seeing him have a resurgence was exciting to see!
Thank you for making this video. Matt Kemp is my favorite baseball player. I collect his baseball cards heavily as you can see by my avatar. He is by far the most exciting player I've watched play for the Dodgers, my favorite team. He played with fire in him, running over catchers, gettin into fights and getting ejected by umpires. He was a slugger, but I don't think he got enough credit for his defense even though he won two gold gloves. He should have won one in 2008 as well, if not more. The dude had a cannon for an arm and I couldn't believe when guys would try to run on him. I was crushed when he got traded to the Padres, he should have been a Dodger for life. Matt Kemp forever.
Thank you so much! Kemp is one of my all-time players so it was a joy to put this together. It was so cool to see him have a renaissance year after struggling with other clubs outside of L.A.
I played HS basketball with him in Oklahoma. He had Sheldon Williams on his team. He was an hell ova athlete. Could have went far in basketball as well. Always loved his baseball game. Yes he got robbed in 2011 MVP race
Grandal was horrible as a catcher... Dodgers literally benched him in the post season because he was so bad. Pitch framing doesnt mean shit when you cant do the basics. And its also well documented the SD padre staff didnt like him as their catcher, and would prefer not to throw to him. As did Kershaw.
@@manram6093 Kershaw requested to throw to Aj Ellis for years before Grandal was on the team, and it was a point about offensive production from the catcher position.
Talk about what if like what if this guy could have stayed healthy we're talking about a right-handed Ken Griffey Jr but once again we'll never know because he couldn't stay healthy what a shame and what a waste always was a big Matt Kemp fan
As a big dodger fan I’ll miss him that 2018 season was special
I think Justin turner is 38 also. Who would of thought Justin turner’s career would be longer than kemp’s back when they were both on the dodgers
No kidding! That’s an interesting comp
He'll always be my favorite baseball player of all time, that 2018 Dodgers team was a blast to watch

kemp my favorite player to walk the planet tbh. i grew up watching him here in la and can never forget his name
Matt Kemp was one of my favorite players, I still wear his Jersey till this day.
He was one of my favorites too! Something about his game that I enjoyed watching.
The Dodgers mishandled MK in 2018. They should have kept him for another 2 years for him to go over 300 HRs as a Dodger. I miss MK.
❤️Matt Kemp always
still one of my fav players ever man and Manny
Im born and raised in LA im a huge dodgers fan and I miss MK I wish the dodgers would bring him back again
1 shy of the 40/40 is a freaking bummer for one of the greatest
Facts 💯 40/40 on the dot would've been insane too
True, it just would've been amazing to have him be part of that club regardless or at least a mvp
I agree, him as DH would be deadly, I feel he could finish his career off like ortiz
💯
It still has me dying thar matt kemp had a better year for LA 4 years later than he did with the padres in the 2 years he was with them 🤣
Honestly I thought his 2018 season was good but the team would not let him play consistently and would tend to sit him when he would get hot.
Yeah he definitely didn't get as many at bats as he did in his time previous with the Dodgers.

That’s awesome! I’m not surprised at all, he seems like an all around athlete. Kemp is 2011 MVP in my book!
Just found your page, love the content dude
Thanks!
He was part of my childhood growing up
Watching this the day after Matt Kemp officially retired as a Dodger....Nice video
Thank you! Super cool that he got the sendoff he deserves
I think you missed the most important part... Matt Kemp's 2011 season literally bagged him Rihanna for a summer😂😂
Yo wait that was 2011? I thought they broke up like 2010 😂
@@Cam23 Nah it was fsfs probably B4 2011😂 it just sounded better and you started the video at 2011
My favorite goddamn dodger ever. Fuck Ryan Braun he's the real mvp
Matt Kemp was the MVP 💯
Hate the dodgers but loved watching Kemp play.
Can you do chase utley
So a video about Matt kemp made me realize how good yasmani grandel was...as a catcher.
Well, yeah… 😂 😂

I hate Ryan Braun will forever

I was a big Matt Kemp fan too, not sure why but I think his skill set was entertaining to watch!
The definition of a rougned odor game into a career
It’s not a rivalry
The Padres Dodgers rivalry? It’s one of the biggest in baseball
It is now they both beat each other in playoffs
