This channel is about my love of the crossbow, hunting, and the outdoors. I hunt exclusively with the crossbow. I love it and I aim to help you love it, too!

Bunjie (The O.B.) is a 2010 Excalibur Axiom Crossbow. After more than a decade of killing deer, hogs, squirrels, woodchucks, and even a bear, Bunjie is now semi-retired. Enter Bunjie III (or Bunjie '21, Bunjie 3.0, The Slick Black Cadillac of Crossbows) a 2021 Scorpyd Deathstalker 420, the result of trying various models and looking at dozens of them online for characteristics I liked. It is, in fact, a gift from a Friend of Bunjie, which goes to show how important Friends of Bunjie are to this channel and what an impact they can have. Bunjie III is a testament to modern crossbows, producing over .7 slugs of momentum and almost 140 ft-lbs of kinetic energy with stock arrows--at nearly 400 fps!
Bunjie, Jr., is my daughter Genevieve's crossbow, an Excalibur Micro Suppressor 355. This crossbow was also a much appreciated gift from a Friend of Bunjie, and it changed Death by Bunjie forever by inspiring Genevieve to become a part of our story as a second-generation crossbow hunter, and it also convinced me there is a benefit to a newer, faster crossbow (see our 2020 Maryland Doe Hunt).
Again, I am not sponsored by these companies. I am sponsored by Friends of Bunjie! (I'm not asking for gifts whatsoever--please don't feel like you should send me stuff! But I do appreciate the support I've received over the years! I'm just trying to express my appreciation for that.)
This channel is the result of combining my interest in filming and hunting...and music, too! My related channel, Yankee Militia, showcases my music. Some of the music is hunting-related, so check that out, too! The soundtrack for this channel is provided by my band, so the two are intertwined. The albums "Live Free or Kill" and "Zombies Gotta Eat, Too!" are available on Amazon.com and elsewhere. A third album is in the works.
    All Hail Bunjie!

I broke down and bought a pack of cellular trail cams. Now I only need a few days off to go set one up at camp. I set one up today in the backwoods where I only hunt when time is an issue. Onx Hunt is one of my favorite apps....i buy the elite package so I get all 50 states if I choose. And the new features are amazing....putting it up on my dash monitor of the truck is so useful. Its actually saved my bacon a few times....someone said I was trespassing....and I broke out the OnX...and proved them wrong...and avoided the game wardens wrath. I also download the map of camp because signal is weak. Game saver.

If you bring ground blind, keep a little distance to apple tree. Wasp and bees can visit your blind unwelcomed. Some apples like Granny Smiths are green when they are ripe. Hope your trail cams survive. I have had several cameras stolen thru the years. You can bring a climbing step and put them out of reach and less visible. Put a small stick behind the top of the camera to angle it down. Our archery season starts 2 Sepember. Supposed to be 90's all opening week. I will probably go fishing.. ha

Great video Rich and this looks promising! Sending Michele and Genevieve your location is very smart, and I recommend that for anyone who hunts alone. Rich, you should look into getting an Ebike. It looks like you have some great trails. I bought one for hunting and scouting and it works great. No noise, and no gas smell. Do you have any of those pesky seed ticks in PA? Here in southeast Missouri, the seed ticks are terrible this time of year. I always carry me a small role of duct tape in case I get into a nest or two. I can take a piece of duct tape about 18" long and remove hundreds of those seed ticks quickly before they have a chance to swarm. Duct tape has saved me many times while out scouting or hunting early in the season.

I don't use the locks, but I probably should. I buy the absolute cheapest trail cameras I can and that way I'm not out much if they get stolen or lost lol. As for the crossbows, get the specs from the manufacturers and try them out through our calculators! There are a lot of fun! And you learn a lot from them. At least I think so.
